You were my childhood inspiration watching you catch all those giant bass on tv...I caught several giant bass over 8 lbs here in east central IL as a kid with my largest tipping in at 10lbs 8oz and most were caught on your chartreuse big bass willow leaf spinnerbait. Nice. I found reeling and letting the sp drop gets good fish. I used to drop it in the water, let it sink to the general depth for the conditions and just reel it in then one day I got a tiny backlash with a faulting reel, pulled it right quick and continued reeling and BAM , nice fish. Repeated the same procedure without the backlash and BAM. Now it's my standard retrieve. Also found if you're getting a lot of strikes but no hook-ups the lure isn't running deep enough especially if running a trailer hook, I'd run it deeper and/or put the trailer hook on upside down.

Awesome lake! I fished there once and caught over 150 bass in one day ! Probably 60 or 70 of them were over 6 lbs! 10 of them were over 9lbs and 2 over 14lbs! The rest were small 3 or 4lbs lol! I was fishing with small bluegill and goldfish! Nobody knew I was there but I'm sure Roland wouldn't have minded me fishing there! Thanks Roland if you're watching! I fed my family for 6 months with those fish
