Excellent systematic approach gives the confidence to have a go at any fork. Might struggle to get o rings for old forks though may have to resort to measuring each one. Great video - good job it wasn't wife's tee shirt.
Great video with attention to details. Very useful stuff, thanks for sharing. I'm watching and follow it step by step as I'm doing my front suspension full service.
@@justahasbeen , wasn't bad at all. First time took longer, as expected, but this video covers it all. Just take your time, and keep track of the steps and parts, so you can do it in reverse to put it back together. Easy way to save $100+ letting the bike shop do it, and the oil and seals probably cost $50, and you'll have enough oil to do this at least 5x or more, especially if only doing the lower service.
Hey, amazing video. Exactly what I needed. Especially for the Dual Air Reba A1. Two Questions: where did you get the service kit from and I have heard that you can put some oil ~5ml on top of the piston into the positive air chamber. This should help to stay air tight and resoke the soft pads unter the dust lips - is that correct?? Greetings !
When I go to the rockshox website to put serial number in it doesn’t recognize the number. I have a rockshox Reba RL with cable adj, dual air with 115mm travel. Any help to know how much oil to use?
I am about to service my rockshox model RL/29" . Is it important to remove the fork from the frame of MTB or can this servicing be done without dismounting the fork from the frame, thus with less effort altogether?
Herb please tell me you didn't forget to shave 10k off the remelhoffer shim gaskets before you miked out the flugeldozzen ambient operating temperature check valve catawompus sensor. Just saying.
Remelhoffer shims are in the Mark 2 this one relies on differential girdle springs. The 123ml of flugeldozzen was added to dampen the lunar side shaft.
@@HerbOMatic you are 100 percent correct Herbert. Somebody's been reading their technical support field advisors disgruntled customer reference chart rebuttal reply options for situations appendix A column 1. And they say common sense just doesn't exist anymore.
I think it would probably be fine, but plush is designed as a damper fluid more than anti-wear. They lower leg oil preserves the bushings and prevents alot of metal to metal contact. I would use the correct oil if my forks were worth alot of money.
Thanks for the video, very helpful. It looks like you have the 2012 A1 Reba, so consider upgrading to the RCT3 damper and newer rebound. 11.4015.544.270 11.4018.025.002
I loved this tutorial. Matter of fact. Clear and you explain what you're thinking/looking for. WOW!
I can't do the fork service, I don't have the specific mountaindew tshirt.
Good to see you can still wear the Mountain Dew T-Shirt after you've cut bits off it - great look at the end 🙂!! Very useful video.
And you sweat less whilst shreddin

Neil, You can do it! On of my goals is to encourage the can-do attitude. We since took the bike out on trails and it is butter smooth!
Very good tutorial on this model

Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, very clear, and easy to understand!
Well done video! Just watching this a couple times, I'm ready to do my first full fork service by myself, once I get all the kits in.

Very very useful tutorial! My only question is that why not to clean every piece in IPA or brake cleaner?
Great tutorial! Seals are easier to take out with an open end wrench tho :)
I can use this for my discontinued Rock Shox Tora TK SL
I have a quick question. Should motion control damper be submerged in oil or it should be barely touching oil so it has some airr in it too?
Hi,I own an Rockshox fork with dual air,my negative air pressure is losing air,how can I fix it?
Great video, to the point, well laid out and systematic. Good job~! liked and I subscribed
Thank You 31acruz I hope it gets your fork going!
do you got a copy of that manual you where reading?

Unfortunately I cannot get past clamping the lowers in a bike clamp. Always clamp by steerer.
Can i use 10wt on the lower leg ? I have the exact model as yours
He use 0w on the lower legs. Rockshox recommend 15w (no 0w, no 10w). 10w is closer than 0w to 15w. You are better than this channel. 😂
Where is the serial number found?
The serial number is on the back of the crown. On the backside of the fork near the top.
Ziptie omg just use some piece of twine !

Cuál es la medida de las esponjillas de 5mm o 10mm?
Can i use maxima plush 10wt for rockshox lower leg ?

Okay. But last question sir what alternative oil of rockshock fluid 15wt for lower leg.? 🙂
He use 0w and Rockshox recommend 15w. 15w no 0w PAY ATTENTION
make it look easy.
Thanks, it worked out with just using your video.
Horrified when you cut up that Mountain Dew Shirt!
Yes, the sacrifice was hard to watch. A true classic.
