We just took taxis both ways. The doorman at the hotel got a cab for us to get to embarkation. After debarkation there was a line just outside of check in with a taxi stand that VV coordinated. It was a long line but moved pretty quickly and the taxi zipped us right to the airport. Be sure to book a reservation for the Marisol rooftop bar. It was SO pretty!
Sorry I didn’t see this sooner- it’s 100% no gratuities. They’re all included in the cruise fare. We only tipped the tour guide on our excursion since he’s not a crew member.
It wasn’t that bad at all. Not relaxing by any stretch of the imagination, but not too much. We had zero issue carrying on a conversation. We were also positioned behind where they were playing, so I think the pool itself has the worst of it.
It did sound pretty loud in some of those clips! When we first arrived the music was quiet (and just over the regular speakers) Then the DJ got set up and his speakers were louder. It really only got loud when the musicians would join in, which was only for a song or two with breaks in between. Admittedly, once the place filled up it got noisy, but no louder than the restaurants we had dinner at. It was a bit quieter on the daybed than when we got in the pool, right in front of the DJ booth. But it set a vibe without ever overpowering our conversation. I hope that helps!
