Love the videos. Learning a lot. For those following along at home, you might have noticed that your 1st adjustment numbers were a little different than WL's. That's because he had a small typo in his macro 'First Round of Adjustments. The line immediately following IF loca = "H" Then should have a + home_adv term at the end. Video shows a misspelled hom_adv term at the end of the equation instead. The macro sheet available for download also has this typo. Correcting this variable gives the correct values for 1st adjustment as shown. Otherwise, all seems good. Great introduction !
THANKS !!! This is one reason why we think the use of Excel in data-science-type stuff should be banned (LOL). Hard to believe an undefined variable doesn't throw an error in Excel as it would in Python.
Good Evening; Followed both videos...terrific...question... for new season (hopefully) how many weeks of data do you wait to use these predictions? Thank you...Stay Healthy!
When I tried the second round of adjustments, all results came back as negative margins. The rankings seem accurate but this seems odd. Does something need to be changed?
Good series. It inspired us to convert this from Excel to Python. Not fond of Excel for data-science-type stuff. We think its use should be banned. LOL Anyway, question/observation. Your provided schedule shows 267 games. But in use in the series, your spreadsheet shows 261? We'd rather not assume it's the last 6 games. We'd like to know what the added games are so we can check our math with your results. As of right now, the Elo part isn't matching up (haven't started Pure Points yet). We already know about the typo in the macro. Thanks.
Never mind. Error was on our part. Somehow we messed up the refactoring of the macro to Python, and the Neutral games were getting added to the Home and Away league totals.

Quick questions how do you calculate win probability from that difference?
