My UK Self Defence loadout/EDC

  • My current UK self defence loadout/EDC is I was going somewhere that may be risky, all of the items shown in the video except for the larger Opinel are legal for EDC, every day carry.
    A kevlar vest with a anti-stab layer will protect against knife stabs and slashes as well as pistols and shotguns.
    A tactical pen can be used as a pen, emergency glass breaker and a self defence item if needed, a flashlight can be used to see in the dark and to temporarily blind and disorientate an attacker allowing you to escape.
    Remember the UK has rules against items being used for self defence unless reasonable force was justified.
    It is better to carry items with practical uses rather than saying you are carrying them only for self defence.

      The UK law favours the criminal element. You could be law abiding for 60 years then one day buy a knife to use for work. Get stopped on way home by police and charged. Then you are put in the criminal category.
      Sitting ducks with our right to defend ourselves removed. I walked home with a lovely carving knife from asda recently. Am I a criminal?. I would have been if I was stopped and searched.

      I believe that the British police have no right to be better able to defend themselves than we do. We're told, "The State will protect (you)", but they're never there when we're attacked - our assailants make certain of that. So, if they're not there to protect us, we ought to be able to sue the State for huge sums of money. Or, if we're attacked and the State clearly hasn't protected us, at the very least...we should be able to get immediate and huge compensation.
      IF THE POLICE ARE NOT THERE TO STOP THEM, THEY'RE ALSO NOT THERE TO STOP YOU! After you're finished with them, go home and watch TV! :) I'd sooner be judged by 12 of my countryfolk than carried in a wooden box by 6 of them!

    UK government needs to reconsider its Gun laws.
    For sure the relaxation in Gun laws like US may be a problem but if UK Government just allows Civilian ownership of .22lr revolvers then it could greatly improve the ability of UK citizens to protect themselves.
    Allowing ownership of Normal or Pocket revolvers should doesn't means that every Citizen can own as Prize & other rules & regulations must be developed very carefully.
    As the present Gun laws of owning Double Barrel Shot guns are enough for UK Citizens to protect themselves, their families, homes & Neighbourhoods in case of Riots.
    Similarly there is a need to equip all the On-field Police Officers with Pistols.
    Since their is an uneasiness within the Police for own Pistols then either Equip them with Compact pistols like Glock 19 or Glock43 with only One extra magazine.

    If you personally ever have to use any of these in self defence and you hurt someone, this video can now be used against you as evidence to show intent (Mens Rea) and up your sentence.
    If the Police see this video and they can now stop you and charge you for carrying these items as an offensive weapons.
    In the UK an offensive weapon can be items not made or adapted, but merely intended to be used as offensive weapon even if they have some other legitimate use. Basically saying that you are carrying ANYTHING in the UK for the purposes of self defence makes that item an offensive weapon.
    Be careful - as you know the UK law in this are gives the authorities a lot of power and discretion to bring charges against you.

    I always carry a pepper spray. You are allowed to purchase pepper spray and carry it without license but at time of purchase you need to be made aware of correct disposal and how to use it correctly. Also you need to show you ID but that's about it. I think under Swiss law you could also carry a tazer but the law is a bit vague so I wouldn't recommend that. You can also get c spray but you need a license to carry it and purchase it. The license to purchase it is pretty easy to acquire. And if you have a reason you can get a gun carry permit. You can also carry knives but there are some restrictions on length and type. But I think a good quality pepper spray is good enough. Especially if the pepper spray is sticky. Overall I finde it worrying how far the laws in Britain go. Pepper spray should be legal. At least that.

    • @Weaponsandstuff93
      @Weaponsandstuff93  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes Pepper Spray unless someone has a horrible allergic reaction will never be fatal it is purely defensive, sure a criminal could use it to attack people but they are quite happy to use acid, knives and guns.

    • @lucariolps277
      @lucariolps277 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Weaponsandstuff93 guns and acid aren't a problem here. Guns are the 3rd most used weapon in murders. 1st are knives and second are blunt weapons. Guns here are only a problem when you take suicide into consideration. Acid isn't even listed on the statistics as far as I know. Knives are only loosely restricted. Like you can't carry a bayonet except if you are in the military. And concidering we have a militia army, there are quite a lot of those. But even if you carry something. More often than not its on a case to case basis. Like if you carry around a machete but you can prove that it is for gardening or for your job, you get away with a fine or a warning

      You are allowed to defend yourself. People need to stop spreading misinformation. The UK is overly restrictive on knives and carrying things with the intent of using them as weapons (which is unlikely to effect you unless you're a dodgy character with a history of crime), but very liberal on the steps you can take to defend yourself or your property.
      In terms of self defence, you can take any steps available to you to remove said threat, and use any tools to hand. You can even chase people and perform a citizens arrest or recover property.
