This is without any shadow of doubt one of the greatest D&B tunes ever created. First heard it on Grooveriders show when it was first released and it just blew me away - head and shoulders above literally everything else out at that time. Apparently Krust was getting a bit of grief for recording such long tunes at the time as they were way longer than the 5 or 6 minutes which suited the vinyl pressings. When he was asked he said that he just couldnt get what he wanted to say down in 6 minutes, so they had to lump it! It is a piece of pure genius - there was nothing ike it around at the time, and there never has been since - probably never will be. Seminal.
Yeah Music House dubs were usually 10", the Soul in motion one I have is 12" with only "12 mins" written on it, showing that the person who cut it was shocked by the length of the track.
@@wookieboy0776 Flawless tune, I used to use a Disney (Blackhole) spoken word album over this. Without a shadow of doubt one of the best Dnb tunes ever produced. You could play this 30 years from now and it'll still sound like it was made yesterday. Timeless

released in 1998, are you serious??? sounds brand new!!! An amazing tune that you have to listen to all of it as it builds and builds and builds getting better and better to the very end like a story, an 11min 25sec story that you like at the beginning cause you've only seen a bit of it but by the end of it you fucking love because it all makes sense!!! A MONSTER OF A JOURNEY!!!
I heard this back in the day on the One in the Jungle radio show, but it cut the end off ... years later I finally heard the full length version .. it was like finally reading the last chapter of my favourite book 👍
Remember hearing this for the 1st time when Bryan G played it on JJ Frost's radio show on Kiss FM in '97. Sounded like the future then and still sounds like the future now. Big up DJ Krust
Not listened to this for years. Loved it when it came out, because it confused my senses. Cold, yet soulful. Robotic, but at the same time uniquely human. Also the drums are fucking masterful.
True Story (mini paragraph), but as far as this Bristolian Legend's Tune output goes = this is his finest moment imo. (grateful for upload).. Keep discovering gems though tbf.. Proper versatile Producer in hindsight.
Krust now teaches lectures at schools I think. I remember him with Big fat cigar at movement the mass. He was wearing a suit. He's the Don. Roni size. SUV. Die. Krust. Bristol massive
@@Mamba4runner Such a classic. Also funny how intros were so much more important back then. Remember 'Sonar' or 'Miles High' by Trace on Prototype label?
The amount of work that is in this tune is staggering. It a journey by someone with a very complex understanding of rhythm and sound. Krust just operates in a different field.
Agreed, Over Easy - there is a phenominal amount of work. The track has so many layers, it would be complicated to do now, let alone back then with analogue. To get the layers down, hold the track together, make it tell the story over the 10-odd minutes, and achieve the quality of production is incredible.
never mind one the best drum and bass tunes, this is one of the best tunes ever written in any genre. mozart would've loved it!! im drunknstoned and i never heard a mix of this track longer than 6ish mins so i'm well excited! cant wait!
Krust was really something else during this period. 'Genetic Manipulation' into 'Soul In Motion' and then this. In my top 5 of all time D n B tunes that can never be unseated.
some do all the work and others take the recognition for centuries to come...Amen!! in my opinion, Krust is a MASTER, in huge capital letters, Full Cycle TOTHEM ( the whole Drum&Bass scene are include...) without crown....but this pulse, this bass....no words, love him
Ohhhhhhhhhhh.......my goodness! Since this was on Sniper's Bulletproof mixtape I've been wondering what this tune was and off and on would ask around to see if anyone I knew could identify it. I just happened to click on this just now. Finally! Definitely one of my favorite tunes of all time.....top 10 if not 5 in my personal book.
I'm STILL ID'ing tunes from 20 years ago - I always dreamed as a kid of an unlimited free jukebox with EVERYTHING on it, and here it is, the future - We are living in it.

@ traskilator, everything u have said is spot on fella, this is a beautiful record, glad u enjoyed the full version, i was even lucky enough to hear dj krust play this tune in a club, first timehe dropped it :)
I always believe in decent headphones for a decent sound & MY GOD , I had samples flying in all directions with the sustained DnB roll . . . This track just blows me away : ))
@wookieboy0776 this might be a bitleftfield, but look up pharoah sanders, morning prayer. it moves you around like this tune and then kills you with th sax at the end. 1st velvety, then brutally savage. do you have jon b, crazy in love? no one on youtube seems to have it...
I used to listen to INCredible drum&bass by Goldie a lot fifteen years ago. Went to Paris found that brick of an album in a record shop. DID NOT PURCHASE IT! Big mistake. Edit: Just purchased this single. Cover is mad. Mission accomplished.

Love tunes like this. All the elements isolated are really simple, but arrange them properly and it becomes a genius tapestry.
Epic. Krust went absolutely clear on this on. Anyone ever produced or made synth based music will appreciate this on a technical level also.
Best Kristen tune impo !!!! This still sounds like it’s from ten years in the future !!!
there is no way i can describe how this song makes me feel... an astonishing track from one of the greatest producers!
My all time so fucking deep love it bought the vinyl 20 years ago where has the time gone man
This track is so fucking good and a part of my early partying years it makes me want to cry...
Exactly the same here Ruth. Full cycle!
Krust rocks -- 1997 in Munich, Planet V. Unbelieavable. Even better 1996 in a small club with MC Dynamite. Both are real -- more real than any dream.
Finally. The original. Thanks man
This and Adam F's Metropolis blow away any dnb being made today. It's a shame how artists aren't willing to experiment as much anymore.
I used to hear him play that himself at thr blue note in late 90s.used to go off. And yes your right
For me it’s Peshay - The Nocturnal
