That's actually a great point. I didn't think of ice as a means of traveling faster. I think that's something I'll be testing soon (if I can make time for it). The speed will go pretty high for sure.
I don't know if the player base has changed their opinion but having the 55% mounts get you a lot of hate as well I had to stop using mine as a result of the backlash and I even thought about getting rid of it as a result

To comment on the amount of hours spent walking to quests-- A tip for decreasing travel time when questing: mark the location next to a quest giver! Quests will often have you return to the same npc to finish a quest and using your mark to tp back the quest giver will save a lot of travel time.
I remember seeing a video where someone did a theoretical on how fast can you complete w101. He took into consideration what school is the fastest at dispatching enemies (Storm), the average time it took complete a battle, complete cutscenes, and average loading screen times… and assuming they don’t fizzle, and best case scenario they go first every battle, AND ignoring side worlds and just the main ones… you can finish the entirety of Wizard101 in 141.5 hours. This is roughly 6 days. This also means you spend most of your time in game battling or on loading screens. This is as of the final world being Lemuria. Meaning now that Novus is out it’s probably an extra 5-8 hours that will be added on. Also unsurprisingly, Arc 2 is the longest arc to go through considering how much health most bosses have, the large amount of redundant quests lines, and the high frequency of boss battles.
A lot of people didn't seem to realize that it stacks. Yeah, it is a little annoying to have to change them before and after every battle, which is the only reason I only use it on a character that is being carried.
Hey great video but the measurements you gave would suggest that the speed boost of the mount and boots are not summed but multiplied, like blade bonuses in combat. So the actual speed boost with a 50% mount and the boots would be 1.50x1.08=1.62. 62% speed boost! I think it works that way because with a 58% boost the speed should be 9,48. with a 1,50x1,08=1,62 the speed would be 9.72, closer to the measurement you gave. Same thing with the 40% mounts. With a 48% boost speed should be 8.88, but the measurement you gave is actually closer to a speed equal to 6x1.40x1.08=9,072, so a 1,4x1,08=1,512, 51,2% boost, not 48.

There are also 55% mounts (the scooters) that can be obtained from crown rewards events that happen sometimes (you have to spend x amount of crowns to get). Hope this helped! Also 50 and 55 % mounts can not be obtained for free like some of the 40% mounts.

You can swap equipment sets with ctrl + number, you just have to remember to change back

There's a little known extra spell that allows for extremely fast movement. It's called cheat engine

When you stitch you stitch over the stats which removes any buffs or boosts it gives. I wish it worked that way though.

I spent real money on the sloth that slows you down 40%. I always used cheat engine though so it was more about having the sloth
It was an april fools mount along with the sloth. They are actually cheaper than normal mounts by some degree.
