@@Merseywail From your video it's changed a LOT since I remember it from the 70's-'80's. That long ramp up to the platforms is the only part I recognise! Is the long ramp at Bootle New Strand still in use?

Just watching your great video. Wondering you say about the old railway line which runs behind hornby boulevard road. Were did run to and do you have any more footage on that line. I am a keen photographer and wont mind mind getting on there to take some photos. I no there is still some lines there
That's the North Mersey branch. It runs through to Aintree & Fazakerley. The track is still there but its disused. I did try to access it at the Seaforth end its very overgrown now. I will be doing a video of the full line. In the meantime you can see the Aintree end in my video Aintree a tail of two stations.
My local station, I can see it from my back garden. When you videoed the large brick bridges around the corner you missed the stone marker showing the line belonged to the L&YR
@@Merseywail its just before the bridge on Violet Rd side... I do have a pic of it somewhere. I'll find a way to link it. There are several marker stones still along the old line I believe
I just had a look on google street view. its visable on some of the early streetview pics. i can see why i missed it , there was a buddleia bush growing right by it
Great videos. If I could say one thing; you voice is very soft to the extent sometimes I need total silence to even hear what you say. Maybe subtitles or speak louder (no I’m not old either)
Fair point. Am still very new to all this. I really need a far better mic. Currently using a smartphone mic which is far from ideal. Not quite got the hang of the video editor yet (shotcut). I have lots of ideas for future videos. These first few are to gauge everyone's reactions to the content & if it's worth continuing.
Seeing as most of it has sadly been swept away, you wouldn't. Hence the reason for the video. To show what was once there especially it's roll as the terminus & interchange point between the Liverpool overhead railway & Liverpool trams
Yes. The history of the Merseyside electrified lines is a subject that has been seriously overlooked. There is far more to the railways of Liverpool than the Liverpool to Manchester or the overhead railway. I hope to correct this imbalance
It's also my local station too. One of the reasons it's one of my earlier videos. I known quality isn't great. I will have to revisit the early videos & do them better

Great stuff mate. The Liverpool OH Railway was the first Colour light and Track circuited Railway, in the world.

Good stuff, but I notice the subtitling is struggling with your voice: 'C4 for levelling' staton!
I have the same trouble with voice recognition apps, No excuse, made the mistake of using one of those combined moblie headphone / micophone things
