This man loves his wife. Great tips. I bought a CX5 for my wife and she loves it. I'll definitely check out the ratchet jack and fluid mat. My tip: I put Weather Tech floor and cargo liners in all my vehicles. Makes annual detailing faster. Great vid. Keep it clean. Keep it coming.
💯You know I do! That’s a Great tip! That’s a great idea especially with kids! Have y’all done any other mods to the CX5? Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! #motivationcrew
I just saw that in one of the Mazda FB groups. But I couldn’t find one that fit the Mazda. Where did you purchase yours from? Thanks for the suggestion! #motivationcrew
I use Pennzoil platinum with a Mazda filter. Also use a new crush washer on the drain plug. I put in a little under 5qts. Start the car while raised and check for leaks. Lower it and put it on level ground and measure. Best way to check your oil level is to check it the next morning on level ground. By then the oil has drained from the head. Like that wireless charger.
Thanks for all the good tips!!! Especially the washer on the drain plug! That’s good advice! I’ve never thought about checking the oil that way, but it makes sense. That way you get the most accurate reading of what’s there! Genius!! Thanks for the comment! #motivationcrew
Just came across your channel and subscribed. I have a 2016.5 CX-5, which I like a lot. Have had no serious problems. Had to get a new battery recently. Also, had to replace the bank of switches in the driver-side door (windows, locks, mirror controls). Followed TH-cam videos to do that.
Thanks so much for watching and for subscribing! It means a lot!! Thanks for the feedback also. How hard was the switch replacement? I’ve had a constant battery issue with my cx5. Just had to replace it again for the second time in 6 years. Other than that, it’s been a great vehicle. Thanks again for watching! #motivationcrew
I have a Seoul Red 2018 CX-5. I like the car and it is reliable, but the paint chips easily. We garage our car and only drive it locally and have less than 11000 per year. Do you notice this issue. Also try using Lucas Oil Slick Mist Ceramic Speed Wax. It is inexpensive and I use it as a drying agent after a car wash. Use it on windows too. I use a leaf blower to remove most of the water and then spray a light amount over each panel as you dry with a good soft towel.
I love the Mazda red!! I haven’t noticed the paint chipping. We garage ours most of the time as well and it doesn’t get driven long distances. Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll give it a try. I wanted to have it ceramic coated as well! That should help. Thanks for the comment! #motivationcrew
@@MeAndCarKeys yes; our is garaged and generally only driven short distances. Again our is 2018. Maybe they further it out after that. We also owned at 2013 CX-5 same color. Have had great service out of both.
Awesome! You got the refreshed model with updated headlights!!! I thought about Powerstop slotted and drilled, but I went with the cheaper route last time. I looked into Corksport for exhaust but it’s my wife’s daily and she doesn’t want anything loud. I also saw Borla has and exhaust for the CX5 too. I’m still trying to talk her into it!! 😂 what do you plan on doing with yours?? thanks for the comment
Thanks a lot!! That’s a great idea! Ive actually never used the ramps before. Do you have any issues with them sliding when driving up on them? Thanks for the suggestion!
@@MeAndCarKeys Ideally, drive up ramps are better suited for floors where the bottom of the ramp can "bite" into. Floors like tile or epoxy for example are not good. But if you are using the ramps on your driveway, you should be good.
Any update on that K&N air filter yet? Have you noticed any improvement? Reddit boards say it's a waste of time for this type of engine but I'm curious to know your findings 🤔
I won’t say waste of time, but I felt absolutely no difference in horsepower. My wife said she didn’t notice any either. So maybe it is the engine size; I installed one in my F150 which is a V6 and now it flies!! It’s still worth it since you can clean it and reuse it.
You need to install the android auto/apple car play retrofit, however it will make the wireless charger moot, unless you get a AA/ACP wireless dongle as well
Thanks for the suggestion! Apple CarPlay is in the plans! I’m sure that’s a game changer! Where did you purchase from? I’ve seen infotainment.com but I’ve heard people getting the hubs and cables from eBay
I have 21 cx5...i also had an 18. One thing that drove me nuts was the piano black plastic around the shifter. So i bought a stainless steel cover. Great video! I habe the turbo cx5 so im hoping the k&n will make a difference...either way its better for the car but...id love a little extra power. The turbo is a crazy big difference than my last cx5.
Yeah I’m sure the K&n would make a bigger difference for the turbo cx5. I didn’t notice much of a difference at all in ours. Thanks for the tips, our black plastic is scratched up as well. I also saw a carbon fiber cover on eBay that looked nice. I still haven’t driven a turbo CX5… and I probably shouldn’t because I’d want to upgrade!! 😂 thanks for the comment!!!
Just found your channel, and already hit the sub button! Love your style. I'm soon to be trading my wife's 2022 Mini Countryman for a '22 or '23 MAZDA CX-9, so a lot of what you do to your 5 will be doable to a 9. Did your wife notice any difference with the K&N filter?? I used to have a 2018 Nissan Titan with the 5.6 V8, I dropped a K&N filter in it, and I think it gave it better throttle response and definitely gave the intake a better sound. Now I have an '18 F150 2.7 Ecoboost, so I'm thinking it may need one!
Thanks a lot!! I’m Honored to have you as a subscriber!! My wife said she didn’t notice anything and honestly, I didn’t either, which was sort of a disappointment. I can definitely vouch for it in the F150! I have a 2015 XLT V6 NA, and it improved throttle response dramatically!! Congrats on the new Mazda!! You’ll love it!! Thanks for watching and subscribing!! #motivationcrew
Sup bro! I just responded to your email too. Sorry, but I don’t have any experience with the sports booster. I know It tightens up throttle response like a pedal commander. Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you

@@MeAndCarKeys No other mods. Strictly stock. This is our 3rd CX5. Bose system is awesome.
Get a Fumoto drain valve next. It replaces the oil drain plug and just makes it into a valve to drain the oil. Super easy to install and use

Cool man. Watching from Ireland. About to go pick up a 2019 CX-5. I’ll follow these mods and learn to change my own oil! Thank you

I’d like to visit Ireland someday!

Awesome mods and oil change bro. I’m working on an oil change video for the wife’s Lexus as we speak. Haha. Happy wife Happy life. 😂

I have to change my air filter at least once, most of the time twice a year.

I use the dip stick reading. That’s the only way to know with Mazdas. They call for 4.5 quarts when doing an oil change
