Shield Hero is a really good isekai show. Ah, and just in the case you didnt' noted, check the episodes till the ending. Many episodes of SHIELD HERO have after-credits scenes.
By the way, Redo of Healer is what everyone _thought_ Rise of the Shield Hero was going to be like when these episodes came out...
The difference is, y'know, Shield Hero came out before and is, like, good...

Dang so that's why they have some familiar stuff
there are 2 important points you should know by now:
1 - a door is smarter than other heroes
2 - this other point was not very clear in the anime, so since the betrayal, Naofumi lost the ability to taste things and also for being so suspicious to the point of not being able to see Raphtalia "teenager" form , in his view, she's still in "child" form, so he said "the country is full of lolicon"
And i think naofumi is still not fully trust baby girl raphtalia

Not sure about Redo, but Rising of the Shield Hero's author is actually a woman, same with Demon Slayer. Despite the fact they are woman authors, they can create some pretty mind breaking situations :D

Intetesting fact that was left out:
When Naofumi first bought Raphtalia, he actually did like seeing her in pain because each time he just imagined it was Myne being hurt instead.

Yeah the manga conveys that much better and he even remarks feeling terrible about thinking that way. Naofumi was having very dark thoughts towards women when he first brought Raphtalia but she eventually brings him the balance he needed
At this point, I really lost count of how many times I rewatched this anime and watched reactions to it!
There's so much depth and layers and hidden meanings and messages behind this anime that I only managed to fully understand it after my third rewatch!

But lol, seriously, when you said he was being like a dad to her, I couldn't help but laugh, because Raphtalia wants a lot more than that!
And Naofumi on the other hand, sees her as a child
naofumi is suffering from the trauma of what happened to him, he both hates this world and rejects it, so he can't see raphtalia's older form and he can't taste things
And thus the simping for Raccoon girls became on par with catgirls and such.

try not to judge naofumi based on his words alone, his actions speak louder than his words. Naofumi is in a bad place his heart broken, his trust shattered, he's not the bright eyed innocent that was first summoned here. Like the weapons man said he's been corrupted by their world

This series will always be one of my favorites and sad that season 2 got delayed until next April but I can't wait and the ost of this series is amazing.
Watching the first Wave fight again, the way they handled it honestly wasn’t that bad. If they had been working together, having Naofumi defend the village solo while the other three took on the boss would probably be the smartest way to go about it. Maybe have one other hero support him at first until it’s clear that he can handle it solo, and then go help with the boss. It’s funny that it worked out to be the most efficient strategy just because the other 3 don’t trust him at all and are selfish pricks.

When I first started watching the show and I saw how nice myne was being I already knew something was gonna happen
in this series/world.....the demi-humans have accelerated growth when their levels go up....fast leveling means their bodies mature faster. she may look older but mentally she is still a kid.
Raphtalia went from onii Chan to ara ara real quick.
when naofumi got raphtalia she was realy sick, and she would coff and cry all night, so naofumi stayed awake for days protecting her, making sure she wasnt hurt by any monsters

The ending song fits the story of Naofumi so well and it gets me in the feels whenever I listen to it/

I love that even though they were being absolute douches to him, he still saved their asses.

At this point of the anime Naofumi still have some trust issues if you notice it the only persons he was comfortable talking with is the blacksmith and Raphtalia you see how Naofumi talk to the villagers in this episode only small talks or somehow ignored
Her appearance changed does get explained in a few more episodes time.

The waves only stop when the boss monster is defeated. So, the other 3 heroes actually did do their job.
But without Naofumi, the village probably would have been destroyed

initialy, naofumi picked raphtalia because she reminded him of myne, and he wanted to torture her, however he just couldnt do it, because he is a good person, so even tough he wanted to hurt her, his good nature didnt allow him to.
In the books myne gets her faced bashed in over and over again tell she dies so i hope that helps

1: you hate the bitch that lied to Naofumi on the first day (its not rude, its her name. If you know, you know.) As well as the other heroes, you're awesome.
And 2: if you love Raphtalia and totally love the connection she has with Naofumi, you've got a good eye-

I know you already watched the season, but to be clear, the heroes are good people (yeah even the Spear Hero who gets influenced by Myne). Naofumi was found guilty of attempted rape, and the heroes have no reason to doubt the court.
During the wave, the heroes worked to save the people by stopping the wave. However, two are young and ones a simping mess and they can’t help treat the world as a game because it previously was to them. They never consider collateral damage. So, Naofumi let them stop the wave while he ran interference on the monsters reaching the nearby village. The knight commander was more interested in stopping monsters and assisting heroes than protecting individual citizens. I get it, better to protect the greatest number of citizens than get bogged down on one, but Naofumi is like why not both, that’s what I’m here for, and he convinced a mass of the knights to join his plan just by example.
Naofumi is officially dad.

On the whole raphtalia ageing up sort of thing, basically Demi humans age the same as normal people with a notable exception; that being that if younger ones are in similar situations as raphtalia ( being a Demi human in a party with a hero, which has an effect on it apparently?) than their bodies will mature at a faster rate to adapt to the continuously dangerous environment. So as they level up, their bodies will mature and reach their physical peak (which starts around 16 and stays at its highest around 18+ until in their 30’s roughly) faster, but once they’ve reached that peak as said around 18 in terms of a body’s age, they age normally. so it’s not a case of the more they rank up the faster they age, that’s how I thought it kinda worked until I read the light novels.
I might not be entirely right on this as I think that’s in one of the first novels, and I’m on like novel 6 which happens around season 2’s timeline.

Ok let me just say this straight. Objectively, Rising of the Shield Hero is a VERY good series. Yes, better than Redo of Healer.
But also, objectively, Redo of Healer is NOT a bad series.
They are as similar as they are different. And I love them both.

Since you already finished the series, I think is ok to say this. It is stated in the Light novel that the reason that he picked Raphtalia is because she has the SAME GENDER as "That Bitch".
episode 3 is a very hard thing to protray correctly; the manga was very hard to understand also and only without visuals in the WN did it clarify things entirely.
basically what they try to get across is that Naofumi is not capable of seeing her as someone that is Mynes age; his hatred of things is literally blinding him in this case. Beast people age with their level of strength rising like monsters do; so Raphtalia is actually around 10 years old by human concept of age but is physically as mature as the age she looks like; as you said Naofumi sees her as family not girlfriend so it never bothered me.
What they don't show is that Naofumi's PTSD is so bad that to him Raphtalia still looks like the little girl in the cage. It's why he can't taste anything either.
shield hero is not any other isekai.. it's so well based.. not a single moment of Bad thing as ecchi happened! # Best isekai

Unlike redo, this knows that there is a stopping point, redo doesn't.
since I hate the translation of it so so much xD I'm going to say it here: it's not "Air Strike Shield", because it makes no sense (u'll see in a few episodes why). It's "Erst Shield", derived from the german word "Erster", which means first. The translator simply didn't know what was coming, so they tried to make sense out of a word they didn't understand. Or something like that, I don't know. :-P

Redo lacks the relationships he fell too far and everyone around him is under his control to some degree aceot his latest demon girl
Shield hero is caught by his friends and those who care for him before he fell as far as redo did nd this creates the more warming moments that keep even those who may get disturbed by revenge plots watching doesnt harm that they censored the darkness of the series even as far back as making the light novel out of the web novel
