Glad to see it hasn’t been bulldozed yet. Maybe there’s still hope of it returning? I’d much rather see some type of show there again instead of that beautiful spot turned into an ugly hotel or condos.
I remember that show the last time I saw was in the 90’s and I hadn’t returned there until 2019 when I took my daughter for the first time. I was shocked to see how so much had changed, family land water park was gone and replaced with my Olympus , river view park and water world is now a zoo and the wax world of stars museum was gone. Still a nice place to vacation though but I personally was not a fan of the tommy Bartlett show but I’m sure many are upset it’s gone.
@@jamesferguson6831 thanks... covid 19 was a political scare to cheat the election and China funded. Again ty for response ...what a shame businesses of such shut down....
TheTommy Bartlett Show said it is closing because of the "catastrophic loss of business." The water-ski, sky and stage show, which brought in 90% of the business' revenue, was canceled for 2020 because of restrictions on large gatherings during the pandemic.
and there was a major decline in the amount of ppl long before the pandemic! the show was old outdated and had no plans to change or refresh the place. Times change and the world as a whole likes to have modern things tho many cry around about nostalgic places they themselves didn't really help keep in business.
Thank you Governor Evers for destroying so much of the Dells and business in Wisconsin... And what help did he give while he forced them to shut down? NONE. I hope someone buys it and starts it back up again. So much of the Dells' history is being lost to corporate tourist traps. Fort Dells Storybrooke Gardens Dinosaur land, and too many others gone and paved over with chain restaurants and t-shirt shops
Yeah that jackass that runs mt olympus is hands down the worst things thats ever happened to the dells. He ravaged that place with timeshares and hotel extensions. My favorite old resort, old newport, had to shut down, along with dozens of other mom and pop shops, restaurants, attractions and hotels.
While the stupid reaction to Covid most certainly did real damage to many businesses and didn’t help others, TB was in deep trouble years prior with dwindling attendance as you can see in this video from a show in 2019 with less than 10% of the seats sold. It’s easy to blame others but they were still trying to offer a 1980s show that was never updated to fit the times. th-cam.com/video/sL2LQz2a52w/w-d-xo.html
I wish they'd reopen.. this place was my childhood, I don't want to see it die like everything else
We have been to that show several times. It was a favorite in the Dells, miss it and hope somebody can bring it back to life!
Wow. so cool to see it like this. I sat in those seats MANY TIMES in the 1970's Great memories!!!

It would make a cool music venue

A real loss.
Why did they shut this down?
On September 16, 2020 the show announced it would permanently close due to financial losses from the COVID-19 pandemic.

no one wants those old outdated places. not to mention that the city wants places that make money and aren't eye sores.
These places aren't eye sores, they're memories.. and with enough help and support they can make just as much money as new attractions could.
Yeah, governor Evers totally created Covid.
