Took a boat tour near it a few years ago. You can't get within a half mile due to the stink and the flies. The birds killed the vegetation on the island, save for the grass.
I'm absolutely amazed you were able to fly all the way out there. What rig are you using? That's some incredible video transmission range!
I used a DJI Mavic Air 2
Maybe they can put something cool there like maybe instead of all those wooden roller coasters that that place has up there the Dells they should get some real dang metal roller coasters with metal and steel. Dang that would be so sweet if we could just go up there and what the six flags company decided to buy the land and put some roller coasters on there like all us bad boys like. I know a lot of you little kitties out there like to go on water slides and stuff like that and go on the wave pool but it's Big bad boys a big bad booty daddies like Big poppa pump we like to go on a roller coasters we are not afraid to go upside down are you serious we're not afraid of that. I only cried one time going upside down and that's just cuz I was scared cuz I was so young but now that I'm a big bad boy not so scared anymore I'm 12 years old dog.
My late brother and I would sneak in during the off season and sit in the stands under the large, shed roof and toss back a few cold ones...very cold ones. Was very peaceful. And yes, we picked-up our empties. Rule 1) Take out what you brought in. Rule 2) Don't take out what you didn't bring in. This is a sad sight for sure. Future home of Bartlett's Wilderness Lodge...or worse yet, another one of Nick's monstrosities...let's hope not...
My father was born and raised in the fourth ward of Ludington as he was so often proud to admit. He spent time working on the Spartan in his younger years.
That is a shame, one of my favorite places to go in the dells, went every time we were there, it was like a staple in your home.
Visited as a young child in the 1950s. The only constant is change. Surprised it lasted as long as it did.
It would make a cool music venue
Did you fly a drone all the way to it?!
Reminds me of the old amusement parks ( of lore ). They were this size and had many things packed in .sort of like Riverview
A real loss.
I live here.
Thanks for your videos. Appreciate.
Its strange that all the trees are dead
Nice flying good shots 🙂👍
My family and I used to go on vacation there. We had family friends who had a small resort on Hamlin Lake. They also ran the cab service from there. Those were happy times 😊
Why did they shut this down?
On September 16, 2020 the show announced it would permanently close due to financial losses from the COVID-19 pandemic.
@@jamesferguson6831 thanks... covid 19 was a political scare to cheat the election and China funded. Again ty for response ...what a shame businesses of such shut down....
Yuck
Its nice to see a harbor town in the early Spring...Its a rebirth leading to a season of fun!
So peaceful ❤
Why is nobody doing anything about this lighthouse. No restoration? Nothing?
Spectacular video. We love Port Washington and telling our friends about it. This will be the video we share with them!
Nice Video
Sink it
All ship belongs one company or many other company
Many
Fantastic!!!! I'll have to take my drone up there sometime. Keep the videos coming!
Nice video. Thx Keep them coming please.
I wonder what happened to the callaways steering pole, it’s snapped at it’s base.
This is beautiful!! I absolutely love this, the music is a nice touch.
Thank you so much!
Enjoying the music
Drones are fantastic!
So sad to see Cason J and R Blough! Beautiful ships.
Now that the rest of the boats are in lay-up, will you do another video?
Yep I just filmed another video and uploaded it yesterday 😁
It’s hard not to see the Blough there. It’s too bad that she couldn’t be turned into a tug and barge combo. I hope the Cason still has a future sailing again. At least they have the bubblers going under her. It’s so quiet and empty there this winter 😢Nice drone work, thank you.
18 boats scheduled in this year...it'll be packed! 😁
@@WiscoBoater wow that’s quite a few. That would be great to see in person but videotaping it is the next best thing.
What’s with that cruise ship? She’s been there for a long time. The Cason is like her sisters, Anderson and Clarke. Clarke was needed so they brought her out. The big void is Blough. Yes we know about the fire. Unless someone ponies up the$10 to rebuild her she’s finished or they have to look at $10 million to fix her or $100 million to build a new one of comparable size. Then one needs to consider that Great Lakes fleet is up for sale. A lot of unanswered questions questions about that fleet right now.
Up for sale? I did not know that.
The Majestic Star was apparently used as a floating casino for gambling cruises out of Gary, Indiana.
They Majestic Star, as mentioned by @Tim Kellay is a floating casino, and has only been there since August. In for refit, same for her sister ship, the Majestic Star II (also arrived in late August, early September). As understood...and I may be wrong, but we heard they were purchased by a Canadian company that intends to modernize them, and send back in to Casino service. Ugly boats, for sure...looking forward to them leaving. LOL
I understand the Cason J is in permanent layup how true is that???
I've seen various reports that she needs hull work in order to be allowed to sail again. With the fleet up for sale, most likely she'll stay where she is until a sale is completed. At that point, the new owners would decide whether to repair, sell, or scrap the Calloway.
no. she is going to be turned into a cable layer.
This place is my happy place
I'll bet it's creepy inside.
ugly ships compare to german or euro made
I started here in 1952 when it was initially opened and worked for Tommy Bartlett for four years during my High School days, Worked my way up from laborer to performer and announcer, sold tickets with the Rehusus monkey on my shoulder while selling tickets, also did man on the street radio programs after the shows. Truly enjoyed my experience working here and will miss the performances in the future. Too bad someone can't afford to pick up the pieces and start again, I believe it could be profitable with the right promotions. Also it was Tommy who gave me my first flying lesseons and I went on to gain my private Pilots license and eventually build my own airplane, "Thanks Tommy!" The only reason I did not go on with the show after gradustion from HS was I entered the Military and spen the next 32 years in the service. NO Regrets!
Amazing! What a way to see the faire! Thank you.
Wow. so cool to see it like this. I sat in those seats MANY TIMES in the 1970's Great memories!!!
Really cool drone footage!
This is a fantastic video. I can't believe I never really paid much attention to this one. Wish I had the money to restore it, Id be out there all the time.
The Lighthouse Society should be reached out to about this one.
I remember that show the last time I saw was in the 90’s and I hadn’t returned there until 2019 when I took my daughter for the first time. I was shocked to see how so much had changed, family land water park was gone and replaced with my Olympus , river view park and water world is now a zoo and the wax world of stars museum was gone. Still a nice place to vacation though but I personally was not a fan of the tommy Bartlett show but I’m sure many are upset it’s gone.
Great work ! Great Soundtrack ! BRAVO to the production staff ! SBF
That’s a beautiful video of them. Thank you 😊
We have been to that show several times. It was a favorite in the Dells, miss it and hope somebody can bring it back to life!
Shore line cruise beautiful night. Such an awesome sight ♥. Enjoyed the trip ..all crew members Thank you 😊 🙏
Most awesome , do it again in a heart beat...
