Thanks for the video. I've had an Evette & Schaeffer clarinet for many years. The serial number is K12008. Looking on the chart, I'm guessing it's from 1962. The case looks exactly like the one in the video, came with 2 barrels and the reed case too. I'd love to know more about the Evette & Schaeffer line. I haven't seen another one in person ever.

Evette & Schaeffer was the Intermediate model since at least the 1950s through the 1980s when they were designated as Buffet models (E11, E12, E13, etc). Evette was the student line B12, B10, etc. Your K series was one that was made in a Buffet factory, the others by Malerne or Shreiber (made in germany). So much of the E&S "history" is actually of Malerne (in Paris, France) and Shreiber.
Buffet used to make non-Pro instruments in their own factories from time to time. The Academy Models were another example of that. I do have a video of those ==> th-cam.com/video/I8vyITm1jkg/w-d-xo.html

Apparently I have one. It says Evette & Schaeffer Paris France Buffett Crampon on it, and has a K serial number on the back. Not the original case, and one barrel

Cool video. I’m guessing I have an e-10 evette. Serial number is like d8888. Maybe a 67? Does that sound right to you?

The D series was probably a Malerne made Buffet student clarient. So Buffet's serial numbers normally don't correlate. But on my one page here it does identify the one column as "D" and yours being a 1967 . www.woodwindforum.com/clarinetperfection/buffet-evette-schaeffer/

@@gottalovetheknowledge4749 thanks. It says made by buffet crampon. Just like the e-10 column stamp. Are these worth anything?

They are but not too much. Check SOLD auctions on eBay for a good range. During Covid times prices may be depressed a bit.

Do you think the sound is special or better than just an Evette Shaeffer or crampton intermediate models. Some R13 have been duds so I wonder what you think

A complex question. First off if a clarinet is not properly setup it can be a dude and it doesn't matter how much you paid for it. I'm reminded of when I went to a music store and test played a brand new R13 - it was a dude because no one checked it before I played it. A few top pads were leaking which meant the instrument would not respond to much of anything. They were selling the "Buffet R13" marque and not the retail sales and support aspect of it.
Normal Evette and Evette & Schaeffers are Malernes with cylindrical bores which make them a joy to play. But they lack the real flexibility of what an R13 is designed as. The K series, if I recall correctly are tapered bores more reminiscent of the Master Bore (just before the R13s) which I consider superior to a regular cylindrical bore. But then I love playing my Leblanc LLs. But overall I rate the K series E/ES better than the normal Malerne made ones. Albeit, they are old now and I have to check but I think smaller toneholes for more student fingers, which makes them an intermediate clarinet. But, the largest caveat, the player needs to be well attuned to the intricate balance in playing, back pressure and tone to really feel or hear any difference otherwise they all sound the same when properly set up.

Did they have the r13 design in the old crampton evette's or shaeffer when they switched in the 1960's or 50's? are those older ones any good I see them online for cheap.

Weird I remember when I worked at music store we had old mouthpieces and I swear I remember that name Malerne on the box of Conn mouthpieces or they had something to do with Conn.

Could be. I never really looked into Conn mouthpieces or their instruments. They made a few nice clarinets back in the day.

If they have a letter prefix then they'll be made by Malerne and have no correlation to Buffet factory made instruments. Of course one thing I don't think I've done with Buffet made non-pro horns is measure the toneholes for their shape.

      Most prefix of A, B, C, D and E are Malerne made. Here's more info: www.woodwindforum.com/clarinetperfection/buffet-evette-schaeffer/

You need to “enunciate” so ALL your viewers understand you. That’s what communicators do !

Yes, but please refer to my April 25, 2023 video ... sometimes certain stuff causes problems.
