It does not matter if you are able to wear the dress or not you will be able to incorporate that dress either material or pieces of it or the whole thing with a great seamstress ... your mom will forever be with you ... love ya girl!
First, let me just say that I've noticed in the last week or so that your face has slimmed down significantly. I feel the same way as you do about not being able to comprehend smaller than 220. The unknown of this is terrifying. I was around 15-16 when I weighed that. So, over a decade of being a significantly plus size girl is crazy. My junior prom dress is a size 18. I love that dress. As for the gown, your mom would understand. I have no doubt that the voice you hear in your head is correct. You should hold that memory of choosing the dress with you forever, you're lucky you have it. Plus, you could always take the gown and have it re-structured for your final size or use parts of it for a new dress. That way, you still have the dress you and her picked up.

I don't want the full again but i was telling hubby i wish i have not goten big in the first place. congrats on 4 pounds say what! your four make me feel like i am standing still.LOL! YOUR DOING AWESOME SARA! OH SARA YES YOU WILL BE ABLE TO WEAR IT JUST HAVE IT TAKEN IN AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT FITTING IN THE DRESS. I KNOW WHAT THE DRESS MEANS TO YOU BECAUSE IT HAS A MEANING BUT REMEMBER IT IS EASY'ER TO REMOVE FABRIC THAN TO ADD SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT FITTING BECAUSE YOU WILL BE SMALLER AND IF YOU DO HAVE IT ALTERED TELL THEM YOU WANT TO SAVE THE EXTRA FABRIC FROM THAT DRESS AND USE IT TO HAVE A GOWN MADE FOR A BABY SOME DAY!WHEN I GET DOWN TO A SIZE 14 I WILL PUT BACK ON MY WEDDING DRESS THATS THE SMALLEST I HAVE EVER BEEN.
