I saw him 3x a year before he died. Extremely grateful. His shows were beautiful btw. I remember being in awe, especially of good his guitar playing was.
he wrote this song off as 'a stupid song that sounded like the eagles' that he wrote 'in about a minute'. I would kill to achieve such perfection over the course of a month.
Wow, a couple years ago I got a bootleg, just audio, of an Elliott Smith show from a guy who wrote reviews on shows, and its totally this show. It has that girl telling him to move the mic and everyone yelling no, its definitely the same show, what a coincidence.
1:00 (Phone rings) "your every kind of a caller". I used to have a copy of Either/Or that skipped twice on the lyric think I'm gonna/gonna make the same mistake twice. Strange coincidences.
@@mattoconnell9291 why was Elliott crying after the concert? I understand why you might have been crying, but to read that Elliott was also crying after the show makes me wonder what was the matter. Was it because he was moved by the love his fans had for him, or was he just bummed because he felt he didn't do well enough that night?
"god i wanna learn this song so bad on my guitar but i dont get the way he strums...oh well i might get it soon...ive only been playing about a 8 months" You pick the melody with your index finger and strum with your thumb. Occasionally the thumb does individual strings, but mostly just strums.
He wrote great lyrics and tunes but too gentle for me, almost whispered and pitchy. Some folks go for that kind of thing and more power to you, it wouldn't be good if we were all the same!
is he pitchy? I've been a musician for a long time but don't have too great pitch unless I smoke a little herb, is he singing out of tune on this recording?
@@contactkeithstack he was a bit out of pitch but he just got back into performing after a massive heroin and crack addiction so he’s probably incredibly anxious
"We have less tape than qe have battery" what a time to be alive
im 14 and i have gen no idea what that means
@@he4rts.4.y4llthey have less time/memory space to record the performance than battery charge to keep the camera their using on.
Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without his music. It's my only friend
Make more friend, is what you do. Like dog, or people.
If you feel that way you should go outside. He would want you to find more friends.
I'll be your friend
Geez Elliott is alright
Oh man, people that got to see ES live are sooo lucky and it saddens me to see that this was just months before his death. He is certainly missed

my love for him reaches beyond the grave, but i do wish he was still around, and i wish i could have just hugged him one time.

He must of liked since he played it right before he died

My Fave ES song,
Awesome! How did I never discover this before??? It seems like the more you scour youtube for Elliott, the more you get rewarded. Miss you E.S. . . :(

This show has been circulating for over 10 years. One of my favorite performances of all time.

contactkeithstack I don’t mean to be “that guy,” but I believe the lyric is “you’re every kind of color.”
i always thought it was you are every kind of collar, there aint nothing that you wont claim
@@paulhuff9421 I always heard it as "every kind of collar."

i love this song, its sucks he writes it off as simple or whatever. its beautiful. where are you elliott??
I like the song "I don't think I'm ever gonna figure it out" more haha

He looks a lot healthier here.
haha, its sad that not many people know what i'm talking about. Elliott was so critical of himself :)
it sounds like the fuckin' eagles
lol we have less tape than battery. Interesting.
😿
@giodamon Yeah he liked describing it like that, it doesn't sound anything like that it sounds so much better than the fucking eagles =p
the short answer is i cant do that...
(lol)
naw bro im still hear bro lol kinda high tho but yuh still hear LOL
elliott hated it. lol. i don't think it's half as bad as he thought it was though.
Sounds like the f#ckkin eagles

He wrote great lyrics, great songs. He has a pretty voice, but yeah, it is fairly weak. I don’t mind.
