I'm trying to find a live version where he plays his harmonica. anybody know where? the studio version has him using one and I've been playing mine along with this song for a long time now, it just deserves it. the song is among his most heartfelt; He deserves all our love his for talent knew no bounds. This is for Elliott "our hearts will never recover from your loss" that is the greatest form of love my brother.
not that deep. if it bothered him, i'm sure he would've stopped the whole performance because people kept talking and coughing throughout the whole thing
I agree, but even more stunning is the fact that he even played this song at all...he hadn't touched it in nearly seven years. contrast that to when he was supposedly was ready to put the charlie issue behind him by writing "flowers for charlie." something clearly happened. and this version is dripping with so much emotion compared to the original.
It's hard to watch this. I'm glad I stopped using, I was on that road. Voices change with drug use. Pretty sad, I wish he would have left that damn city and moved back here to Portland, maybe he'd still be alive.
"you better wake up your friend before he won't wake up anymore"
one of my fav.songs..i just miss him so much..a pure talent.
What a great performance.
My love. My hero. My man.
it would be so fun to see him play live

Incredible song.
i am for the opinion that every single elliott smith video in youtube existence should be lacking the "dislike" button.
Absolutely
I concur.
It does now.

you made my day
This girl coughs at 0:34 and Elliott's eyes flick open with this death glare. I would hate to be on the receiving end of that look haha.
knowing Elliott, he was probably just wondering if she was alright.
@@liamnolan98 Funny I was thinking exactly that then I saw your comment.
