I am not a Christian but I have read chapters of the Bible, including Book of Revelation years ago and recall the story of an “Anti-Christ” who successfully deceived many Christians into following him with his “miracles,” and the resulting End Times - which may be soon given the current wars and bigger wars on the horizons. Maybe it was God’s intervention or miracle that spared DJT, or maybe Satan, or a miracle the kid was a bad marksman as his classmates testified to news outlet, or just plain luck, instinct to turn towards the noise? Sadly, it wasn’t a miracle or lucky for an audience firefighter.

It boggles my mind to know so many so-called “Christians,” would deeply respects, votes for, and idolizes or considers DJT to be a Godsend or person of God- a man who hardly or has never goes to church just to worship, who endlessly lies (including lies for nearly two decades which has divide us, make us fearful and hate one another), who endlessly cheats (including on multiple wives, and 2016), and often steals (from people, businesses, govt. etc.)throughout his entire life.
YET, the most Christian President (JRB) possibly in the history of the Republic - who goes to church all his life and tries his best to help ordinary citizens, get very little respect or no idolization from many so-called Christians.

Dave Aronberg is so biased. Mike Davis got it correct: with this judgement Trump can appeal the other case too, and it has to go up to the Supreme Court to be decided. This is a matter of A CORRUPT JUSTICE SYSTEM BENDING THE LAW AND MAKING ILLEGAL CRIMINAL UNCONSTITUTIONAL DECISIONS!
Now the judge in New York needs to drop the case there!
SCOTUS ruling Trump has Presidential Immunity, including on his speeches and statements will do that. The NY trial used his official actions and statements, so that case is hopelessly tangled up.

Not only ineligible but the question the judge also had was “…where did you get the funding ($10M)…” to take on this prosecution. Thus, Smith also had used funds from the treasury that he was not authorized to use!!!!

James Comey - chose not to prosecute; Hur - chose not to prosecute….therefore, they can’t be found to have overstepped their authority (and incidentally - Judge Cannon also noted that Smith accessed funds to fund this prosecution with no authority to do so.). Smith chose to prosecute and he had not been LEGALLY processed to do so. Then, he used assets from the taxpayers to pay for this prosecution that he had no actual authority to access - $10M
Investigations under the now expired Independent Counsel statute were legit.
Investigations under Presidential appointed Senate confirmed U. S. Attorneys acting as Special Counsels were legit.
Investigations under un-appointed unconfirmed Special Counsels not legit.
The FL judge’s legal reasoning seems right to me. It also makes me think of all the ways in which 1) the executive branch abuses power and 2) the legislative branch abdicates authority.

Special Counsel's are so powerful they have to be held to far higher standards and appointment standards.
I would think he would at least be equal to an ES Level 5 in Civil Service or minimum one star general-equivalent in any service, all of which must be approved by Congress.... for reference, the Attorney General is an ES Level 1 (one is highest, five is lowest)

My theory is that Justice Thomas wrote what he did regarding Smith is because of how over the top Justice Sotomayor went on her dissent of the immunity ruling. I think she was so disrespectful in her dissent that he felt obligated to throw gas on the fire as a warning not to be so emotional in her next disagreement. It's more like a tit for tat.

With regards to the procedural issues with the DC case, does the Judge(s) in DC need to sort out the Jack Smith issue before taking another step with regards to the immunity issue, or after? Either step will delay these case well beyond the election.

Only the president can appoint the independent council and we don't have a president. It can't be done.
There should be special counsels, but each special counsel should be authorized at the time by Congress when it becomes needed. There is no continuing funding and each counsel is established by law for a limited time and limited scope and funded at that time. In other words, Congress specifically authorizes each special counsel before the president can even nominate a person to fill it.

No one ever addresses the issue with special counsels in that, if allowed, AG would be able to “appoint” “special counsels” in place of US Attorneys. Thereby completely bypassing congress.

Judge Cannon stated that none of the prior cases argued the legality of the special counsel's appointment. In all prior cases, the parties were in agreement with the special counsel's appointment, and the legality of the appointment itself was NEVER in dispute.
When i wakt to understand what really happened, I go to Megyn Kelly's channel.
She is smart, very well prepared, yet genuine.

Judge Cannon made an epic decision. Her 93 page decision was incredible and on point. The Special Counsel, Jack Smith, was acting outside of Congressional authority. First, Garland, the DOJ, can not just appoint someone to be special counsel without going through the normal Congressional conformation process just like a US appointed Attorney. Second, the Appropriations Clause of Congress to pay the special counsel, Jack Smith, must also go through Congressional conformation & then be signed by the President of the United States. Garland usurped his authority & must be held accountable for his blatant disregard for the separation of power.
Smith acts under the adage “ask for forgiveness rather than permission”. He has done it over and over and his cases get smacked down by the Supreme Court in every instance. But as is often the case, the defendant must have the resources to continue to appeal….and he and others in the prosecutorial pool continue unchecked to rake in the bucks regardless.
