Excelente! Un final apoteósico con una Edita Gruberova de emisión extraordinaria y atronadora por encima de orquesta y coro, llenando toda la sala! Buen rendimiento de todo el elenco. Merecida ovación de pie! Gracias por compartir
Most definitely not. Joan Sutherland was the definitive Dramatic Coloratutra Soprano. Sutherland's Bel Canto technique was absolutely flawless. Gruberova swoops too much
@@crazyorganist1609 within the traditional coloratura realm, Gruberova had a dramatic projection that others didn't have. Have you ever heard her in person? As for her alleged "swooping" - tired of you fools falling back on that. It was her approach to legato and portamenti. Sutherland couldn't sing a slow melody with this much contour and dynamic phrasing; it was just...basic.
@@nielrishoi8156she had breath control that no other singer. And Edita unfortunately did swoop and it's absolutely shouldn't be done in bell canto. Joan's legato singing was legendary
Already in the fifth decade of her professional career when this 2012 performance was made, Edita Gruberova, age 65, remains a marvel of technical accomplishment, and she makes the most of any weaknesses, especially eerie white tones and tendency to mew, to characterize the outcast, mysterious, wronged and tormented Alaide (the historical Agnes of Merania) with her customary laser focus and a large range of dynamics. Many will object to the occasionally compromised tuning and an often mannered delivery, but the soprano leaps gamely up to her trademark high Ds and D-flats, landing most of them skillfully, and at the age of sixty-five she could still spin out a lyrical line alluringly. Edita Gruberová (23 December 1946 - 18 October 2021). She was music itself. May she rest in peace.
@@BellaFirenze For me Straniera’s best performance was Caballé in her early career ! Etereal, not with fireworks ! But this is my point of course , i saw many times Grubetova and she was a reference for other operas like Lucia or others

Excelsa Edita, máster class
A truly powerful voice, the most definitive DRAMATIC COLORATURA SOPRANO of ALL TIMES!

This was the recording from the LAST ROW OF UPPER SEATS
Sorry, is out of Bellini’s good finure
What does "finure" mean?

@@RBP1963 I understand that. You used the word "finure" and I do understand what it means.
Awful sound but great singing (except a few notes slightly out of tune)
ugly screams, abuse of portamento, non-existent chest voice, glottis beating, forced sound, etc. This is not Belcanto, this is not Bellini,
