Interesting series! As a luo I'd advise if you want good omena you go for the raw non-dried ones fresh from lake then buy clean salad oil and they deep fry for you in clean pan, you can eat it that way with ugali and sukuma wiki for days and days and it won't be bitter or sandy or smelly.

Between Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, and Masai Mara in Kenya, is where one can find the great migration of wild animals. I guess this fact didn't cross into your minds while crossing that area. In those areas, there is simple marks to indicate the borders, a wildebeest mom might be feeding in Kenya and her baby is wondering in Tanzania, just beautiful .

Just an advice next time you visit mwanza.
I noticed you like nature, when we talk about nature in mwanza we mean the lake and rock formations.
Since you like rock bay resort, yuo can visit wag hill lodge they have got similarities, there is a small zoo too.
You can take a ferry to kamanga and back to mwanza just to enjoy the lake view also you will see a nice of view of mwanza city while inside the lake.
Rock beach garden is another place to visit for rock formations.
Bwiru is a place where you will find rock formations and lake view, also there is a very big stone(famously known as Jiwe kuu).
    Bugando hospital
The second biggest hospital in the country, situated on bugando hill, if you go on top floor you will be able to see almost the whole downtown of mwanza..
There are a lot of wonderful rock formations inside the lake near mwanza, you can hire a boat trip for this.
You Will get the boat near Rock beach garden.
