I think entertainers have a platform & should use it for good. There is nothing wrong with supporting positive change & growth as a nation or speaking their truth with the platform they have. They are the ambassadors for Korean culture & growth. Not everyone will be on the same page (think the same), but they are the catalysts that will bring a better Korea. Don't stifle them.

Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin are both outstanding actors. Their character and lives are inspiring. Beautiful to watch. I can hardly wait for the next episode of When the Phone Rings. It is suspenseful but also socially meaningful. As for the impeachment, I don't agree that stars should try to impact public opinion. They are artists, yes, but voicing on social media is much different from writing a novel, painting a picture or acting in a drama.
Artists have a large number of followers and therefore enormous power when conveying messages. This applies to their craft as much as their possible impact on politics. They should be allowed to use this platform to the best of their ability in order to positively engage in generating more tolerance, compassion and respect as democratic citizens whose mere existence depends on those essential values. We will love them even more when they do so !

Celebrities is not the moral excellence of our society and anyone who uses their platform to influence young people who are overly attached to entertainment industry is leading them in a bad direction. Wisdom and knowledge which is firmly in the hands of mature wise people should be the ones who encourage the right actions in the world. Here in the United States less than 1/10 of one percent of the United States population in the entertainment industry has such power. Don’t let it spread into South Korea.
American actors speaking out on their political stances has not really benefitted many. Especially the actors who are left leaning, since the general American population is on the conservative side, based on the US election results.
