Oceanwatch they have observers onboard to highlight whales dolphins on certain North sea cruises. They are up on deck 12 all day and have seminars. They were very popular.
We didn't see or hear about any seminars , which is a shame as I bet it's very interesting.
Gosh guys! This has been an eye opener for us. Ambience feels a very different ship to Ambition. The public areas don't seem quite as nice. It also looks really packed! Looking at your vlog there doesn't seem as many bar/seating areas on here. It seemed strange having rooms with lego and big baubles in! And an hour wait for a drink! We were looking at trying Ambience, I'm not so sure now. Will keep watching to see how your week progresses.
Yeah was a bit of a shock for us too after all the great reviews It does really feel the ship was understaffed and the management did not cater for the 500 extra passengers... Our friends that we met on the ship who make us look like amateurs when it comes to cruising and have just done a world cruise on Ambience (and booked another) said its the most manic they have ever seen the ship, And I really don't think we picked the best week to try it out.. shame as was really looking forward to this and embarkation was so easy.
We must have been on a different cruise, we couldn't fault anything except at breakfast in Brough Market, that was crazy trying to get a table for 4. The staff were very attentive, no problems getting drinks, the food was lovely.
We saw Ken on the deck with his son, Kate and Jenny also ( photo) even Martin got his autograph. As a greatest hits competition winner, and our first cruise we would definitely book again.
Glad you had a great time, as we always say it's our personal opinion, but after 29 cruises on other lines this is probably the worse one we have done..
Watching this part has put me off that cruise line. So many empty tables early on with dirty glasses everywhere not cleaned up. Bars shut when they should be open. Waiting stupid amount of time for a drink. Lego room seems pointless.
its a real shame as we had big expectations for this cruise line and after the ease of embarkation thought it was a good choice, however as the week went on it really was a big disappointment... We still had fun but the ship was obviously not coping with the strain of being at full capacity and that can only suggest that "for us" the ship was mismanaged. I feel it has a long way to go to be a viable threat to other cruise lines but hopeful they will learn from these kind of experiences as I feel the comments left by many other passengers we talked too, would have been less than favourable to, we certainly met many people with similar experiences and complaints.
