In Lebanon mothers are doing armed bank hold up to get the currency the bank kept when the currency collapsed. They are doing it to pay medical bills or food for their family
I bought a set of silverware from a Jeweler a few years back. When Tim said all pure silver items are sampled with sterling, I checked them and all of them had a tiny "Sterling" on the back of each spoon and fork. You learn something new each day.
I'd like a set. Silver has antibacterial properties. Also, Sterling isn't pure. It's 92.5%
Same. I literally needed new silverware because the Littles throw mine in the trash. I just bought a whole box full of sterling silver. I noticed it was heavier and had the words sterling, so I took them.
The reason why I bought the "sterling" set is because my mom and dad had a set that was silver-plated.
My bank in Australia is no longer giving out cash in the branch. Most ATM’s have been removed too. It’s getting very, very real here.
Dunno what to tell ya there. Get whatever however you can. If possible cut checks to people willing to part with their cash with a percentage more. $110 for $100 cash or 10%. You have cash back at registers there? I’d gank that option. Buy gum $100 back or however that works. I’m sure there’s limits to it tho. But whatever it takes
@@JFEnterprize our supermarkets still give cash at the self serve checkouts, so I get the maximum $400 every time I’m there. As for cheques, they went the way of the dinosaur years ago. We are definitely ahead of you in this cash war.

The comment 2:08 regarding plated Sterling Silver being made from a "combination of Copper and Brass" is completely correct.
Brass is very similar to Copper, main difference, Brass has 33% Zinc with 67% Copper alloyed together to harden the Copper Into Brass..
Bronze is similar to Brass but with '12% Tin'
instead of 33% Zinc usually found in Brass Alloy.
Mixing Copper and Brass together would result in a less hard form of Brass and remove that nice Gold tone Brass is know for, leaving that alloy a more typical Orange Copper colour.'

Yes, it was, but I have seen sterling articles that had the number "925" on them instead of the word "sterling", so watch for either of those when buying.

$500,000 in the bank is insane unless you are a multi multi millionaire. The dollar has lost 97% of its buying power since 1914. Gold pretty much buys the same thing today that it bought 100 years ago. The dollar, not so much.
I have seen 900/1000. 800/1000, 925 for mixed silver as well

Stirling silver (english) can be hallmarked normally with a lion passant mark. Often it appears in a hallmark series maker mark, lion passant and date letter. .925 is often associated with lesser grade utility ware. Plated silver in the UK will often state plated on it or will be marked EPNS, electroplated nickel silver.

Don't buy just gold. Silver is undervalued, and it is supremely useful for barter and smaller transactions.

Hallmarked silver doesn't say sterling but it is solid silver. English hallmarks have been around for 100's of years.
This is TRUE! My mom has a whole set from England and it's only got the makers stamp on it.
Just to clarify, sterling is not "solid silver".

My question is.....If you can't get your money out is it possible that physical cash may be scarce and in high demand for a period of time. Physical cash going way up before it tanks. A whipsaw panic into cash then the final culling.
I would yes, which is why I keep/save in small bills, if you look back to Katrina in 2004 I believe, the stores, people, and other businesses where not taking anything bigger then a $20, but most were only taking $10s and less. so to ensure I have a chance of doing business in this scenario of closed banks or shtf, I save nothing bigger then $10s but my stash is more in singles, anything bigger I have silver for that.

I don't think we will lose money in the banks (permanently) but I do think gold and silver will have much higher value when it is used to add legitimacy to the dollar. Gold/silver will have higher value than the present worthless pieces of paper we have.

Thanks for the great show. Love the channel. Dollar fell today and I watched someone short sell paper gold all day. Adding to the derivative market is too easy for them. Need an actual benchmark for gold not a paper spot price.

I rolled my entire IRA to sovereign silver a few months ago.
Can also be stamped by 925 etc....doesn't have to say "sterling".

A lion with a front paw up is most times sterling too in the hallmark. Always check with acid when you scratch a stone if you're not sure if its sterling or not
6:07 ? How so? If there is not enough gold to back currency, that only means the value of gold needs to appreciate and value of dollar depreciate to find equilibrium state. Or do I miss something?
Edit: I mean, even if there was only one ounce of gold on this planet, you can safely store it in vault and back currency by it. And $100 will be backed by few nanograms, or picograms.

After buying 3 toz of Buffalo gold coins and 100 toz of silver in 10 toz bars. I wonder could I even get my money back. It doesn't look like it! I guess the purpose of collecting gold and silver was to be more capable of saving what you would otherwise spend.

The idea of so many Americans having guns is to force the multiple agent scenarios, which further shatters the illusion of democracy, constitutional law, private property, and so on.

My wife and I just transferred a good deal of 401 k into precious metals long story short thru American Hartford Gold the thing I didn't like is most of the Gold is incremental and along with that is the premiums paid I figured out how they make their money

We will see lower metals prices when (perhaps IF at this point) a recession hits hard. People will be forced to liquidate to cover margin in other investments. We saw this in 2008 (30% drop in gold) and 2020 (15% drop in gold). However that drop is short-lived and may be the real last call before gold goes on a massive rip higher above $2000.
Actually if the dollar gets trashed … I don’t think it will have much impact. It will hold strong if not stronger. 2008 the stimulus to back the markets didn’t release inflation. They got away with it once. Not so much now. They are going to sacrifice the dollar so they can keep spending. more debt

IMO, it is very foolish to use leverage with volatile assets, such as stocks and PMs. The market can shift suddenly and whip your financial butt something
awful. Same goes for using debt to buy volatile assets. Never ever put yourself into a position where the market can decide your financial future.

Spot May drop in recession or depression but real retail prices won’t because their won’t be any physical silver and gold to buy at these or lower prices. Don’t try and time it. That’s how you get crushed
One of the things I don’t understand is that the Great Depression was apparently much worse due to the dollar being backed by Gold, so they were unable to inject any currency into the system. If that’s the case, then why would backing currency with Gold again, make things better than what we currently have?
The Great Deppression happened because the US, Great Britain, and other Allied nations decided not to raise the price of gold after World War 1 when the currency in the world doubled. Winston Churchill said this was one of his greatest regrets. Check out the book called Currency Wars by James Rickards.
Backing the currency fractionally with Gold won't happen in the USA.
The issue wasn't that the dollar was backed by gold. It was that the banks were allowing investment trading on "margins" meaning that the investor only had to put forward a portion of the total buying price. Kind of like a giant credit card for every stock market purchaser. It went great until someone realized that the numbers were all make believe credit and not real dollars. So they asked for thier money. The other issue was recovery from the collapse. And quickly summed up a crash that should have lasted 18 to 24 months took 10 years because the US government nationalized most industries and put in place price controls. Effectively preventing any possible forward productivity in the economy until ww2 started.
