Oh no! What a sickening feeling to discover such an important thing is lost. I'm so sorry Amber. Sending a big hug your way because ... I care about you.
I'm a firm believer that nothing ever happens by chance, everything happens for a reason, even though we may be distraught at the time, but that reason will eventually be revealed...
I'm sorry about your disappointment Amber! One thing I've learned in my 70 years is that there is a reason for everything. Maybe your angels are protecting you from something you can't know about. Maybe they are leading you to a better place for your own good. Bless you!❤️
You just lived through my worst nightmare. You seem to be handling it much better than I would. There are no words to make this better. Very sorry this happened to you.
I'm so sorry this happened to you 😞 Thank goodness you reported the passport missing. Years ago I purchased a pick-pocket proof wallet when I went to Spain. A huge help and relief and an excellent deterrent. You handled this detour like a Boss, I admire the heck out of you and you will get to Europe. I just know it.
So sorry you lost your passport. Never put anything in a pocket, not even for a minute. I have been there, learned a valuable lesson. I always put it in my backpack or purse.
OMG you lived out my worst nightmare. I often have dreams of losing my passport, and just the dreams of it are so distressing. My belief is everything happens for a reason and we may never know what that reason is but someone has your back. Sorry for your dashed dreams.
That happened to us once also. Went home and my husband had hid it in his luggage and forgot where he put it. It was just one of those, you've got to be kidding me moments.
Hello Amber, I admire your courage living and traveling in your van. I am very sorry to hear about loosing your passport before a wonderful trip to Portugal. But you can be kind of happy that it happened in your home country prior to your departure. It can be a worst nightmare while already on the road and in a different country and you might not know the language, either. I lost my passport in Italy while living in Germany and traveling a lot in Europe prior to be EU. It was very difficult to get my Indian Passport back at the embassy and having my permanent residency visa endorced to go back to Germany. Big lesson learned, since then I carry several copies of my passport pages in different locations for proof. I hope you can proceed at later time your beautiful trip to Portugal. Thank you for sharing your stories. Seasonal greetings, Avinash
As I often say, when something is meant for you the path is easy to follow. When obstacles arise, the path isn’t right for you. So sorry for your disappointment, but I believe better things are coming your way. Love you. ❤
I am so sorry, Amber! My heart sank, knowing how much you were looking forward to this trip. You handled the disappointment with grace (I would've been Rumplestiltskin-ing it). If you feel like a little road trip back to the southeast, Providence Canyon State Park in SW GA is spectacular and will take your breath away. Have you seen it yet? It's about 3-3.5 hrs from Atlanta where I'm at. They call it the Little Grand Canyon. It's not a true geological canyon but is still pretty magical. Big hugs to you! 💗
Oh Amber! What a crazy turn of events indeed! You sure are handling it with grace. I believe that these things don't just happen... there is some reason that you are meant to postpone your trip. Enjoy a little more time with your sister, regroup and get ready for something magical to happen.
I am so sorry this happened. We can't see the future and that this just might have stopped something bad from happening or that you may need to be here for someone who needs you. I know that you really wanted this adventure before you bought another dog. If your meant to go it will happen. Good luck and God bless.
You’re handling this a lot better than I would’ve ever handled it so sorry !! Yes it would’ve been a trip of a lifetime well I hope you get the opportunity to go again❤
Wow, Amber so sorry to hear about your difficulty. Take sometime to regroup. When we experience in life those Happen Chance events. It gives you an opportunity to see through another lens. Although sometimes painful... I believe this difficult time will reveal a silver lining for your experience.
Amber, go hang out with Camper Van Kevin for a week and let his puppies give you some therapy ❤️. Losing your passport while still at the airport is a blessing in disguise. God is protecting you from a much bigger event if you had gotten on that plane. Take a deep breath and write down all the reasons you are thankful regarding this event. Example.. it happened at home.... You got all your points back. Etc. Etc. I'm just as happy watching your day in a life in the van as I would be seeing your international travels. It just wasn't your time yet lambchop. Hugs 🤗
Finally got a chance to finish watching...Amber...hun...don't ever think that if you forget or lose something that your being "irresponsible" because your not. Things happen, sorry it happened but thinking negatively about yourself for something like hat is not necessary :)! I'm planning on going to Quartzsite this winter so I hope you DO go there and I get to meet you! I'm planning on my first car life journey, going there and Palm Springs for the first time!
I'm sorry this fell apart for you. I truly believe that you will find something worthwhile in the next 6 weeks, that will make up for some of what you missed. Take your time in figuring out what direction you want to head. I'm sure there are several folks that are in warmer winter areas that would be happy to meet up for visiting and adventuring.
You were not supposed to go!! Take it as a sign. For some reason we may never know, you were just not supposed to go on this trip at this time. Or, something will happen to you in the near future that may explain why you are supposed to be HERE. It may be just my belief, but I think your guardian angel is watching over you and guiding you. I for one am glad you didn’t force something to happen that possibly should not have. If anything, this line of thinking will help you deal with the disappointment better! ❤
It’s such a shock to the system when you are such a responsible person and something like this happens. Just remember to take lots of deep breaths. You may never figure out exactly what happened. Take some downtime to regroup and do not beat up on yourself. You may have been pickpocketed. You will survive this. Carry on.
So sorry to hear this happened to you. When I travel via train or plane I use a security pouch that is small enough to fit across the front of my body and tucked under my shirt, sweater or jacket. Keep everything you need to checkpoints in it and any cash. On a flight back from India a senior lady stuck her hand between the seats and tried to get into my pockets from behind. I also dropped my prescription glasses and they were stolen before I could reach down to pick them up. Had to get a cane to navigate the last week of travels. Learned to have backup glasses and use a cord for my glasses.
Oh, Amber! How devastating! Yes, you ARE a responsible person. So sad and confusing for this to happen to you. If it had been me I would have gotten in that car and fallen apart in a puddle of tears. Please take care. Don't ruminate on this. You do have your home, your points back, and your friends and family to help you through this. Prayers to you for strength and peace. 💗🙏🛐💞 Know that we are all concerned about you, so let us know how you're doing, please.
How disappointing for you! My heart goes out to you Amber. One door closes and 10,000 more open so don't give up on your next big adventure. Hang in there!
I almost couldn't even watch this because it's so sad. At least you didn't have an airbnb booked in Portugal. I hope you can make new plans and get to Portugal soon. You're a trooper! Good luck with everything.
I travel a lot and recently was looking for the perfect backpack personal carry-on. Found the perfect one - a small Tumi with hidden but easy to access passport pocket. Has provided so much peace of mind because when I am tired I often place things in pockets and forget which pocket resulting in moments of panic. It really makes sense to have a spot you always put the passport - and wallet- that is also not obvious or easy to snatch. I am so sorry this happened. As others said you handled it way better than I would have.
I hope that you eventually get to Portugal. I have been to the Azores , Portugal and Spain for the U.S. Air Force for 4 years at Torrejon Air Base. Have a wonderful time Amber. All the best. Stay Beautiful, upbeat, and safe.
Hi Amber, I’m so sorry this happened to you. As Emy Hewitt mentioned in her comment I also believe EVERYTHING happens for a reason. It’s still a bummer for sure. I just got back from a couple of trips (via airplane) and traveling is very stressful for most ppl. Even the experienced traveler. In the event you do travel by airplane in the future here’s s a tip regarding the travel pillow. Put the thicker( the snap in the back) part in the front!!! Makes a world of difference. 😊😊 I love the info about the AirTags, though. I’ve never heard of them. Thank you. Please stay safe. Hi Amber, regarding the AirTags is there a “distance” the AirTags works? Are they only compatible with iPhone/iPad?
Girl! I’m just proud of you for wanting to go on such a big adventure by yourself! You will get there just be patient. Everything happens for a reason, I am a firm believer in that theory. Maybe go get your puppy now 😊it will help with healing more than you realize my friend.
Ohh my.... I could not imagine that!!!! I feel so bad for you Amber! I know this was a fun trip you had planned... Maybe things will work out even better for you... I hope that they find your passport, and it wasn't stolen from you!!!
Wow that sucks Amber! I hope you’ll be able to take that trip soon. I definitely know the feeling. I was in Europe in October and on day 2 of a multi-country trip, I lost my purse in London with all my cash, credit cards and passport. This was on a Friday so the embassy was closed for the weekend. Thankfully I had my phone and wasn’t traveling alone so my family was able to help me out with cash. Unfortunately we had pre-paid train tickets for Paris on Saturday. Turns out I have a cousin in London that my aunt was able to get us in touch with and she saved me from being homeless and alone while awaiting for the embassy to open on Monday so my fam moved on to Paris without me. I’ll never forget that trip for sure! 😂
Bailey M. OMG that's just awful!!! I'm so glad you're okay and you got it all taken care of. I can't imagine what the panic must have felt like in a different country.
@@storychasing it definitely could’ve been worst had I lost my phone too since I don’t have anyone’s number memorized. I’m so grateful too that this did not happen during my solo international travels. I will definitely be prepared for emergencies the next time I travel.
I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’m traveling in Europe right now. I can’t imagine. I’m like you, very careful, so you’ve taught me to be more than careful. Take care and hopefully this will lead you to an even more wonderful experience that you never even imagined. ❤
Can’t believe how it played out! You must feel super frustrated and exhausted. If it dropped from your pants pocket in the lady’s room, someone would turn it in. Could be pickpocketed from your pants pocket (but it’s Dallas, not Barcelona). I travel to Europe often. Never put anything you don’t want gone in pockets unless it’s decoy.
When I looked into passports a few years ago, you had a choice between the booklet types, the original passport, and these newer, credit card-type passports. The thing I liked about it was that you could actually buy and have and carry both. That way, if you lose one, you have the other in reserve, in your wallet or fanny pack. And when you get where you are going, you can probably get through the border, and in the country, get help from the consuls or embassies to get a copy of the other one. I guess.
This advice is too late for this trip but going forward for those viewing, money belts and passport and ID badge holders are available to prevent this sort of thing. Important documents are hidden under clothing and sneaky fingers.
Ugh. Oh no Amber you just lived the nightmare I would always have before I would take a trip overseas. I would dream I lost my passport or didnt have the required visa to enter the country. I am so sorry you just experienced every travelers nightmare scenario. I know you must be super bummed about it but I also know you will make the best of the situation. It is a disappointment but there are much worse things that can happen. I hope you treat yourself and go somewhere else you have been wanting to go. Aspen to see the snow, Disneyland to see the Christmas lights, New York City (okay I know you hate cities but NYC is amazing at Christmas). Wherever you end up I hope it brings a smile to your face. Portugal is still in your future and I forsee you spending more time in Europe than you could have dreamt of.
Feel bad you're going through this huge disappointment. I would have been in the bathroom crying. I once went march for life Washington DC with huge diocese group. I missed group going to event after some free time just before it. Got mixed up on directions those double height streets like in Chicago. I sat hotel lobby crying until everyone got back then had explain. I did have knee surgery prior so acted like that was worse than was but...maybe it's time for your new forever friend earlier than you planned. Prayers and a hug
Bummer, girl! Well, you have 2 great opportunities. 1. What do you do when you have nothing planned around Christmas, where do you go, where do you stay when you're in a van. 2. Seeing the most unusual Christmas you've ever seen in US.
I am so bummed you couldn't go. Honestly, I laughed, but that would totally be something I would do. I'm a planner, overly perfect...but the craziest things happen to me, too. I really am sad you didn't go. I hope you're going to be with family for the holidays.
Oh Amber…I am sooo sorry you had this happen. 😢 you handled it so much better than I would have though! I would have been crying like a crazy lady. There will be other opportunities that come up and I know you will have a great time wherever you go! Big hugs and much love sent your way! ❤
I’m so sorry this has happened. However, I think things happen for a reason and right now you need to stay states side. Portugal will be there & you’ll get to go so not a terrible loss just a delay. Enjoy your family & the holidays… that’s what is truly important.
Oh Amber, that always happens to me, last time it was a plane ticket... omg and I found it in my backpack after the fact. Maybe you will find it. But Arizona for sure, or New Mexico
Oh no! That really is a worse case scenario. I always am afraid that I will lose my passport or other important paperwork. My backpack has a secret pocket that I keep it in but there are times that you have to have it in your hand. Best of luck with your future adventures.
I am so sorry about your predicamento. How disappointing for you! Perhaps it was meant to be and there are the greatest times ahead. Keep your sunntside up!
So sorry to hear about this. Maybe it just wasn't your time to go. How about you come to Quartzsite during the WRTR, RTR. I will be there Jan 7-24 I would love to meet you.
ID & passport always in bra with a debt/credit card & a lil $ while traveling. You are still healthy & safe. Your experience is no big deal when you are well. Everything happens for reasons we may never know. 🤗😊
I am so sorry you were not able to take your trip! Hope it works out that you can reschedule maybe next year! Looking forward to seeing your winter travel in the states. Take care❤️
Hi Amber, I’ve been a long time subscriber. Your solo video production is excellent. Have you thought about the Valley in South Texas. It rarely freezes. There are a lot of RV Resorts for snow birds. You could explore the area, cheap prescription drugs and dental across the border. The best bird watching. If you get bored, you can always go to Arizona. I like your attitude, keep up the good work.
What a disappointing development! You were a model of calm and self-command in the situation. I would have had a major meltdown. I hope it works out OK for you and your trip is rescheduled soon. Portugal will still be there. Enjoy your holidays wherever you are.
I'm so sorry Amber, that totally bites. But if you do decide to come down to Arizona, me and a bunch of other nomads are in the area and we'd love to see you.
How disappointing for you, Amber! it looks like the Universe has something else planned for you now. How exciting for you to find out. Portugal will be there when the time is right. Enjoy your Holidays, and I look forward to seeing where you end up. I am sending warm fuzzy vibes.
I am so sorry that this happened to you. I hope that you will still be able to go on your trip at some point in the near future. You handled this disappointment with such grace. Sending you a big hug! 🤗🙂
Me and my husband went thru security at the airport. We stopped on a bench to put our shoes back on. There was some of the gray trays they use on the bench. ( you know the ones you put your stuff in to scan). Then we got up to walk to the waiting area to board our plane to go home. I asked my husband for his paper ticket. All of a sudden he realized he didnt have it. We ran back to security area and checked the trays by the belt for it. Not there. All of a sudden I thought of the bench. We went there nothing, until I picked up one of the trays on top of another, and there was my husbands drivers license and boarding pass. He had put it in the tray to put his shoes on, and someone put a tray on top of his tray. Usually it is in the most obvious places. ( unless it is stolen of course) Luckily we found it in time. Sorry you didnt get to go on your trip. What a bummer. Hopefully you will be able to go another time.
Sorry to hear your experience. I use a travel wallet when overseas. It is secured close to my body and under clothing, never in a pocket. Have it ready at checkin and back into storage. Not a good learning experience. There are nasty people around.
Oh no what a total bummer. I’m one of those people checking my pocket every 5 minutes at the airport. But I’ve also dropped my atm card right out of my pocket and gone back to a gas station and found it on the ground.
You can apply for a fairly quick replacement, especially if you are in the Dallas area where there is a passport office. Requirements: "You are in the United States and are traveling in 3-5 weeks or less You may be eligible to make an appointment to apply in person at a passport agency or center to replace your passport. To go to a passport agency or center, you must be traveling internationally in the next 14 calendar days, or need a foreign visa in the next 28 calendar days." Call them, get an appointment, rebook your flights, and, with luck, they will push a new or temporarily valid passport through, and you can go. Since you film for a living, its also a business matter and that may help.

Oh no! What a sickening feeling to discover such an important thing is lost. I'm so sorry Amber. Sending a big hug your way because ... I care about you.
Unpack you might find it in your computer bag.
I'm a firm believer that nothing ever happens by chance, everything happens for a reason, even though we may be distraught at the time, but that reason will eventually be revealed...
I was thinking that too. There must be a reason.
Yes 🙏
Me as well!
Absolutely! Some kind of natural intervention for sure. She may have been pick pocketed if it was in her back pocket.
I'm sorry about your disappointment Amber! One thing I've learned in my 70 years is that there is a reason for everything. Maybe your angels are protecting you from something you can't know about. Maybe they are leading you to a better place for your own good. Bless you!❤️

The good news is you are safe. Passports can be replaced, though a pain in the butt I know. Here's to better roads and flights ahead!
Yes indeed Ramona
So sorry you lost your passport. Never put anything in a pocket, not even for a minute. I have been there, learned a valuable lesson. I always put it in my backpack or purse.

It could have slipped out of your pocket when you were having dinner.......You handled it well! They say everything happens for a reason. Stay safe
Holy cow, Amber! I'm so sorry that this happened. UGH!! I try to believe all things happen for a reason but I would be so disappointed.
As I often say, when something is meant for you the path is easy to follow. When obstacles arise, the path isn’t right for you. So sorry for your disappointment, but I believe better things are coming your way. Love you. ❤

Wow, Amber so sorry to hear about your difficulty. Take sometime to regroup.
When we experience in life those Happen Chance events. It gives you an opportunity to see through another lens. Although sometimes painful...

Amber those things happen and wise to wait and not pay crazy amounts of money. Your trip will happen when it's meant to be. Go and enjoy the desert.
Oh, Amber. I feel bad for you. It’s a bummer your trip had to be delayed, but you *will* get to Portugal! And hopefully very soon. ❤

Get yourself together and travel to Portugal when your friend returns from her visit to the states.
Oh, Amber! How devastating! Yes, you ARE a responsible person. So sad and confusing for this to happen to you. If it had been me I would have gotten in that car and fallen apart in a puddle of tears. Sorry about the postponed trip…..Viewing you for the last few years, I know you will be able to pivot and redirect! Take care!
Thank you for setting a good example of how we should handle a situation like this. God Bless.
Portugal is still in your future and I forsee you spending more time in Europe than you could have dreamt of.
everything happens for a reason , many times , some problems ended up being a blessing in my life. Safe travels🤗💕
Just remember girlie girl things happen for a reason. You'll get there, you got this.
The AirTags on the passport would have been helpful 😂
Hope you make the best of the situation! All the best
Have you tried the air tag? . If someone stole it they'd take it off right away. They are also quite big so how would you attach it?
If the AirTag has a lithium battery, it cannot never be in checked baggage
Permi menopause is THE WORST. I wish I had known about that fan!!!! Glad you have it!
Such a bummer! I'm sorry. We're meeting up in Quartzite in early January for WRTR. Come join us.
You were such a good sport about this unfortunate event. I would have been a mess. I believe you'll get there and it will be wonderful when you do.
Bummer, girl! Well, you have 2 great opportunities. 1. What do you do when you have nothing planned around Christmas, where do you go, where do you stay when you're in a van. 2. Seeing the most unusual Christmas you've ever seen in US.
SHit! I wish that hadn't happened to you. You handled it like a champ. I would have been bawling.
I am so bummed you couldn't go. Honestly, I laughed, but that would totally be something I would do. I'm a planner, overly perfect...but the craziest things happen to me, too. I really am sad you didn't go. I hope you're going to be with family for the holidays.
You are such a lovely person I sincerely wish you a wonderful time wherever you are 🇬🇧🇬🇧🙏🙏❤️
Oh Amber…I am sooo sorry you had this happen. 😢 you handled it so much better than I would have though! I would have been crying like a crazy lady.
There will be other opportunities that come up and I know you will have a great time wherever you go! Big hugs and much love sent your way! ❤
My husband and I both use these fans, love them!
Soooo sorry about your passport. I agree with you about the added expense since it'll be a quick rebooked trip. I'd wait for a better time also.
I’m so sorry this has happened. However, I think things happen for a reason and right now you need to stay states side. Portugal will be there & you’ll get to go so not a terrible loss just a delay. Enjoy your family & the holidays… that’s what is truly important.
Wow! Absolute bummer! 😏😞 I hope you've regrouped to your satisfaction...under the circumstances. Stay safe out there. 🕊
Omgosh, I am so sorry you are going through this! I agree with others. Things happen for a reason, and I excited to see what your future holds!!
Everything happens for a reason and someday you’ll see it was fortunate that you were unable to go at this time. You are highly favored.
Someone could have taken it. Arizona maybe getting hit by snow next week.
So sorry to hear about this. Maybe it just wasn't your time to go. How about you come to Quartzsite during the WRTR, RTR. I will be there Jan 7-24 I would love to meet you.
So sorry to hear this.
Oh Amber I feel bad for you. Lots of hugs. ❤️🐕🌹
Oh darn. Sorry that happened. Hope it is found and returned. But also glad you can get another.
Be safe and enjoy some new plans.
How disappointing for you, Amber! it looks like the Universe has something else planned for you now. How exciting for you to find out. Portugal will be there when the time is right. Enjoy your Holidays, and I look forward to seeing where you end up. I am sending warm fuzzy vibes.
Hope your having fun. I have heard of those neck coolers. Oh geez sorry about the passport at first. That had to be super stressful.
Sorry about what happened to you. Praying that things will get better. 🙏🏼💕
I'm sorry for your troubles. Things will work out one way or another. I'm praying for you. I love your videos!
Oh, so sorry to hear this happened to you. I was looking forward to seeing Portugal.
Oh that stinks ! would be in sheer panic mode if that happened to me. I am so very sorry this happened to you ☹️
I can't imagine how devastated you must be. You made me just go double check the location of my own for my trip in Feb.
I am so sorry that this happened to you. I hope that you will still be able to go on your trip at some point in the near future. You handled this disappointment with such grace. Sending you a big hug! 🤗🙂
Oh my gosh I would be crying you are handling it so well.
It will go better next time.
That sucks Amber. What bad luck. I wish for you something wonderful now to happen to you to balance out that bad experience
Sorry you lost the passport. All I can say is things happen for a reason. Sending you positive outcome.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. Your attitude on it all was amazing. I would have been in tears. May it all work out in the end.
