    “The mutation must survive” while it isn’t said out loud, it seems that “Rio” is actually the source of shimmer. You can even see her still preserved in the background later on.
    It’s actually quite logical that it is Milo’s voice that torments and taunts Jinx, as he was also the one that tormented her when she was still Powder.
    So his voice has always represented doubt, blame, hurt, etc.

    When Viktor says "I understand, now" he's saying he'll do anything to live, no matter what he has to lose. He doesn't imagine what it will actually cost though.
    That sense of inevitability is what makes it work. Usually I hate attempts at tragedy because there's wiggle-room and I end up internally arguing with the writing instead of embracing the misery.

    The scene with the flare is definitely my favourite scene of the whole show. Mylo and Clagger on her back. The music. Everything about it is so heartbreaking and beautiful.

    Yours is one of the best reactions I've ever seen! Both in how clearly you are following along, and in your emotions. 'Arcane' is fantastic visual storytelling, and it only gets better from here!
    It's also a fantastic depiction of mental trauma for Jinx.

    "it just feels inevitable" is the perfect description for this show. It constantly challenges the assumptions of first time viewers (both my own and those of literally every reactor I've watched), but even though things continuously play out in unexpected ways, the way they do play out not only feels natural and motivated, it feels inevitable, like there never *really* was any other way for things to turn out.

    • @troikas3353

      That comes from how strong its character work is. It's a completely character driven story, the events of the plot stem entirely from character's decisions, and they all have chances again and again to choose actions that would stop the tragedy or take the story in another direction. But the characters themselves are so well defined, you have such a strong grasp of who they are as people, that you know intrinsically the only way for them to make those different choices in those moments, is for them to be entirely different people.

    Great reaction! You are surely one of the most perceptive reactors I have seen so far. Amazing!
    Here are few details you might want to chew on😉
    -Just before Silco and Marcus' daughter come into sight only their shadows are visible and it looks like Silco is going to strangle her.
    -Jinx to Sevika " We got off on the wrong arm" Yeah, it was Powders monkey bomb that took Sevika's arm!
    - Does the blue smoke from the flare give you seconds thoughts on Jinx' tattoos? Maybe they are a permanent call for Vi to save her..😉
    You can find these tiny details in every single episode.
    This is nothing less than a masterpiece in show not tell.
    Can't wait to watch the third arc with you.🧡

    I honestly have so much respect for Sevika. Since joining up with Silco she has had nothing but loss after loss after abuse after humiliation, but she has remained more steadfast in her goals than anyone else in the series. Even Vander and Silco have more moments of doubt than her. She only cares about the cause and helping whoever is best equipped to achieve it

    ^Is^ Heimerdinger paranoid? "I've seen nations destroyed by a single seed and it looked exactly like this." That is direct experience. Bolbok's (the robot? councillor) entire race was almost wiped out by magic.

    • @leejs
      @leejs 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Heimerdinger is definitely correct in his assessment that these advancements in hextech need time. Jayce hasn't been putting in place proper safeguards. But Jayce is also correct. Heimerdinger was the founder of Piltover and a councillor (head of the council?) for 200 years and the place has gone to shit. It's heartbreaking seeing him lose his position but he hasn't shown he deserves to keep it. He's hopelessly out of touch and blind to the problems he's let fester and grow for centuries as evidenced by his conversation with Viktor about dying.

    • @midnight1672
      @midnight1672 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@leejsWhile I don't disagree about the safeguards, I never understood how those would be something Jace and Viktor need to handle. Wouldn't those safeguards be the job of legislation? E.g. requiring permits for the atlas gauntlets and the totally-not-a-laser. No amount of research can make splitting atoms safe in the real world. The best we can do is, making it so that laws (national and international) restrict it in the safest possible way.

      @@midnight1672 You have a point, but I always assumed Heimerdinger meant something like making a killswitch or something similar that would literally prevent the wrong people from using Hextech.

      @@midnight1672 It's a brand new technology. Only they understand it. I think of it as like putting hundreds of volts of electricity into people's houses without inventing fuses, insulation, rating cables to current, grounding cases, residual current devices - etc. Sure, legislation is essential, but you have to invent the protective measures before making regulations to use them.

    The thing the show does well is it gives you just enough hope that things will turn out okay. I think that is why it stings so much when you realize how hopeless the situation actually is. Because of one word, hope.

    THe timeline checks out that maybe Marcus and his wife JUST had their child during Episode 3, so Marcus being a brand new father could have made him have a soft spot for Vi, and not want to kill her. Just a guess though.

      @smileyhappyface5864 in episode 2 Marcus drew his pistol with the clear intention of shooting Vi and Powder as they were escaping from their hide out. Marcus saving Vi was just him placating his own guilt at causing Grayson's death, not because he had any particular moral qualms about "trencher trash" dying. Marcus was an ultimately spineless person whose hot headed classist bigotry lead him to do something stupid that got good people killed and got himself trapped under the thumb of a crimelord. The only particularly positive thing you can say about him is that he genuinely did seem to love his daughter, in stark contrast to Silco's abuse and grooming of Powder.

    Vi is definitely not about self-defense, she always attacked first. She made the first hit to Dekkard in episode 1, she made first hit to Sevika in episode 5. But she definitely can't imagine Powder being.... successfully aggressive?
    There are also another two topics to discuss. The first is safety against progress. In my estimation, the answer is obvious. Of course, we can appreciate safety measures, but can we name at least one thing in the world that is absolutely safe? Definitely no, that's impossible, since any absolute requires God level power. And postponing progress causes a lot of victims too.
    Another thing, Rio's case - should we try to prolong lives at any cost, despite pain and suffering? Well, there are sime debates about that, some people even defend euthanezia, when all hope is lost, but thousands of people sick with cancer, for example, choose painful medication instead of just dying. And in general it counts as preferable choice. So although, the doctor made the choice for Rio, it's probably morally right choice.
