Neala Grace It gets mentioned in Fairest, in the three chapter preview of Winter at the end of the book. Winter refers to Selene as being her only other friend, and she seems to have pretty strong memories of growing up with Selene up until her step-mom decided to have a barbeque with the future queen. Fairest is not that interesting of a book overall, but the preview of Winter at the end completely justified borrowing it from the library.
My favorite part of this book, is definitely the ending where Cinder and Kai reunite. Their relationship is so gentle and genuine, unlike Scarlet's and Wolf's which I thought was rushed and over the top. Cinder's character is definitely my favorite, mainly because it's so obvious that she's the strongest out of all of them (emotionally that is) and let's face it, she kicks ass. I loved Thorne in this book, Iko too! Still haven't warmed up that much to Cress though.
Winter reminded me of Luna lovegood because she is just very soft and and ditsy when she's talking to scarlet and she very just gives off the vibe of comfort. I haven't read winter but I already like her so far.
I personally am very intrigued by Winter. I think that she's very...insightful, despite her craziness, especially when she said that thing about the blood--to me, it's kind of like, a ton of blood had been spilled and there's still more lives that are going to be taken by Luna or something like that. And when Dr. Erland was dying and talking to Cress...I actually cried. Like, seriously cried. I was just thinking how they didn't get to know each other that well, and Dr. Erland can't even look at his daughter one more time before he dies... It's just so sad. And Thorne, I was literally laughing my ass off when the doctor was saying all these "crazy" things about his daughter and his Crescent Moon and Thorne wasn't getting it. I was laughing because I was thinking, 'Well, aren't you a thick Thorne." Get it? Cuz, thorn and Thorne... Never mind. It's funny to me, OKAY?!... I'm weird. Anyway... I just absolutely freaking loved this book. I just finished it and it's 1AM and I have an AP exam I needed to study for but I didn't because Of Cres.... Help. XD
I loved the fact that Meyer weaved in so much of the classic Rapunzel fairy tale - like with Thorne becoming blind in his attempt to free the princess. In the original the Prince is blinded by thorns... clever, huh? I just hate the fact that by the time Winter is released I'll have had to wait almost a year and a half for it. I've been in agony since October! I had so many theories about Winter, but I can't remember any of them now.
I FINISHED! Sooo freaking good, I must make a video about this series! I love your braids here, and VA party dress!! Good times! Winter freaked me out, I didn't like her, but we'll see how she plays into the story! And Wolf is a gorgeous human, eventhough he pissed me off in this book. I'm still team Wolf, I have faith in him!
I love how the characters acted as a team,when they were all (except for scarlett) back together it was awesome and at the end when cinder and Kai talked I was so happy,I was waiting for that conversation since the end of cinder and I was dying when they kissed,my favorite scene in the book by far. I also remember dr.erland telling her she could have children in cinder and their better be an epilogue at the end of winter when Kai and cinder are married and have babies
I guessed pretty early on that Erland was her father. Ever since the first time he mentioned that he had a shell baby who was supposedly killed, and then when I found out Cress was a shell I knew.

victoria See, but I kind of feel like what could happen is Cinder and Winter could be some equivalent of co-rulers, while Cinder's (DEFINITELY GOING TO HAPPEN) marriage to Kai would unite Luna and Earth, and end the war once and for all. Because Winter has the love of her people, but she's a little too kooky to handle running a kingdom, whereas Cinder has the full mental faculties necessary to rule but doesn't have the people behind her. If they ruled together, it would be an equality of power overall, and with the marriage alliance with Earth finally realized, they'll be able to build a strong co-dependent diplomatic relationship...It's my working theory anyway

I think I loved when they were on the roof and Thorne goes to help Cinder and suddenly she's gripping him, saying, "Don't. Touch. My. Control panel." So yeah loved that bit xD Also, I think Winter is going to adore Cinder because she said in Cress that she had like two friends ever and one was Jacin and the other 'disappeared a long time ago' or whatever. Like come on. It's obviously Selene. Selene was her cousin and they both lived in the palace. It makes sense. And that's why Winter helps them because she wants to help Selene and reconnect on some weird level. That's my theory on Winter.

My theory is that Cinder, Kai, Iko, Scarlet, Wolf, Cress and Thorne are the seven dwarfs. At least in the Disney movie, they come to Snow Whites' aid, corner the evil queen to a cliff, she then falls off, a bolder squashes her and vultures get what's left. That'd be a good way for Levana to die.
I freaking loved Jacin. I don't know about you guys, but he was this sassy asshole who gave absolutely zero shits all the time (unless it was concerning Winter), and it was wonderful. I miss him. I shipped him and Cinder for a while, but then she kidnapped Kai and I remembered why they worked in the first book.

Idk why but I couldn’t really stand him. I mean, I love Cinder’s sassy moments, cause it’s not with a bad intention. But I felt he was being and asshole for no reason to them, and... yeah, that’s pretty much it. I’d love to get to meet him more in the next book, because I feel I may actually like him once I know him better, and when he finally knows Cinder is Selene, but yeah, I hope.
My theory is that Winter will rule Luna when Levana is deposed, then Cinder can marry Kai, thus giving them a happy ending while also forging a bond between the Earthen and Lunar people. I also think Winter may be has esp, or some other ability (like actually talking to animals). And I definitely get the feeling that she's going to be their inside man, like how she smuggled Scarlet the candy-medicine. I think she'll also probably be a political player in the book, kind of like how Kai was- not so much have technical skills.
MY FAVOURITE SCENE WILL FOREVER BE THE REUNION BETWEEN CINDER AND KAI AND THE END OF THE BOOK! IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE OF IT

I felt sorry for him having to deal with scarlet not being there and when he was hold the can of tomatoes in the ship and stuff i felt so bad for him, also when he wants to help but then he end up being brain washed like if feel so bad. I CAN'T WAIT FIR WINTER!!! I just finished Cress and I wanted to cry because it was over. I. Am. In. Love. With Kai and Cinder's relationship. I was all giddy when they talked but I think its funny that every guy she was hinting about being princess Selene was sooo slow, like really? It's freaking oblivious! Cried when Erland died :-/ a little though. Then when Thorne kissed Cress I squeeled. This book had me so emotional, mostly exitment, but people stared anx I wish I had someone to laugh about it with. My favorite part was when Thorne and Cinder were reunited and Cinder asked "when did you have time to get an escort?" Thorne- "what? Don't talk about cress like that!" I laughed so hard! I totally give this book five stars! ♡♡♡♡♡
I just absolutely love Thorne and Cress. They are the best!!!! She is so cute, sweet, with this quirky-Anne-Shirley imagination. And then Thorne this sarcastic, yet sexy, rugged... definitely Jack-Sparrow like. Iko... when we first met her at the beginning of Cinder, I first thought iko was some acronym that I was too uncool to know... But I love her character. Comic relief. I'm obviously a few years behind... But better late than never. I'm off to go read Winter...
You should read the prequel to the series called Fairest! It's Queen Levana's story before Cinder and the gang, and I'm reading it right now and it's SOOOOO good. You should totally do a booktalk on it! I LOVE YOU

OKAY! I CAN'T EVEN.....-takes deep breath- I LOVE this book talk it made me laugh and smile and make all sorts of unintelligible sounds the whole time. Which it being 2:20am with people next door is not so good. No offense to other booktubers who are awesome but you are my FAVORITE. You are just so expressive and passionate and so funny. I loved Cress, and after this I just want to reread the whole series again lol. Now that I'm done being a fangirl (mostly) Things about Cress that I LOVED was that kiss during the fight scene. How Thorn had kept his promise and just that he had made it a perfect first kiss for her. I found their relationship so freaking adorable! I loved how protective Thorn was with Cress and the little ways he showed it. The kidnap scene was freaking AWESOME as well as the fight that followed. It was interesting to find out how the Lunars and Earthens commingled and found some sort of peace with each other in Africa and it gave me hope that it could happen on a large scale. OKAY, I could go on and on lol but then this would be EVEN MORE ridiculously long. Awesome book talk, I'm glad I got to see this before going to bed, I'll probably re-watch later. Kay... And in scarlet, how they discussed she was his alpha in the end it was so adorable like I'm hooked on their relationship I just hope wolf doesn't die in the end

I just finished the book and I shed a tear for the death of Dr. Erland! Hey! How long has he known Cress is his daughter? No more than a week and now he's dead. And, Iko is like the coolest andriod ever, she's more like human than a robot. And im just sosad for Wolf and Scarlet some how lol... this series is torturing me like a deadly fantasy!!!

Yes!!! I finished the three books in five days. Yes, I know, not healthy but I was addicted and Cress was my favorite by far. I guess in a way I could imagine myself acting like her in everything from her crush to Throrne to the way she was awkward with cinder and my favorite scene (not spoiling anything) was the last few where you know who sees you know who again and he's totally freaking about but she just doesn't care!
Cress has definitely been my favorite so far. I love Thorne so much. I really love Wolf an Kai too but Thorne ranks as #1. Such a wonderfully written series. i'm excited for Winter and to see what happens to Scarlet. The parts where it's mentioned that you can hear Wolf's howls of heartbreak totally just rip my heart out. I feel so bad for him. Also, Cinder and Kai! Yay yay yay!! 10/10!

And when Dr. Erland was dying and talking to Cress...I actually cried. Like, seriously cried. I was just thinking how they didn't get to know each other that well, and Dr. Erland can't even look at his daughter one more time before he dies... It's just so sad.
And Thorne, I was literally laughing my ass off when the doctor was saying all these "crazy" things about his daughter and his Crescent Moon and Thorne wasn't getting it. I was laughing because I was thinking, 'Well, aren't you a thick Thorne." Get it? Cuz, thorn and Thorne... Never mind. It's funny to me, OKAY?!... I'm weird. Anyway...

I loved the fact that Meyer weaved in so much of the classic Rapunzel fairy tale - like with Thorne becoming blind in his attempt to free the princess. In the original the Prince is blinded by thorns... clever, huh?
I just hate the fact that by the time Winter is released I'll have had to wait almost a year and a half for it. I've been in agony since October! I had so many theories about Winter, but I can't remember any of them now.

I love how the characters acted as a team,when they were all (except for scarlett) back together it was awesome and at the end when cinder and Kai talked I was so happy,I was waiting for that conversation since the end of cinder and I was dying when they kissed,my favorite scene in the book by far. I also remember dr.erland telling her she could have children in cinder and their better be an epilogue at the end of winter when Kai and cinder are married and have babies

Because Winter has the love of her people, but she's a little too kooky to handle running a kingdom, whereas Cinder has the full mental faculties necessary to rule but doesn't have the people behind her. If they ruled together, it would be an equality of power overall, and with the marriage alliance with Earth finally realized, they'll be able to build a strong co-dependent diplomatic relationship...It's my working theory anyway

Also, I think Winter is going to adore Cinder because she said in Cress that she had like two friends ever and one was Jacin and the other 'disappeared a long time ago' or whatever. Like come on. It's obviously Selene. Selene was her cousin and they both lived in the palace. It makes sense. And that's why Winter helps them because she wants to help Selene and reconnect on some weird level. That's my theory on Winter.

My theory is that Cinder, Kai, Iko, Scarlet, Wolf, Cress and Thorne are the seven dwarfs. At least in the Disney movie, they come to Snow Whites' aid, corner the evil queen to a cliff, she then falls off, a bolder squashes her and vultures get what's left. That'd be a good way for Levana to die.
I freaking loved Jacin. I don't know about you guys, but he was this sassy asshole who gave absolutely zero shits all the time (unless it was concerning Winter), and it was wonderful. I miss him. I shipped him and Cinder for a while, but then she kidnapped Kai and I remembered why they worked in the first book.

Idk why but I couldn’t really stand him. I mean, I love Cinder’s sassy moments, cause it’s not with a bad intention. But I felt he was being and asshole for no reason to them, and... yeah, that’s pretty much it. I’d love to get to meet him more in the next book, because I feel I may actually like him once I know him better, and when he finally knows Cinder is Selene, but yeah, I hope.
My theory is that Winter will rule Luna when Levana is deposed, then Cinder can marry Kai, thus giving them a happy ending while also forging a bond between the Earthen and Lunar people.
I also think Winter may be has esp, or some other ability (like actually talking to animals). And I definitely get the feeling that she's going to be their inside man, like how she smuggled Scarlet the candy-medicine. I think she'll also probably be a political player in the book, kind of like how Kai was- not so much have technical skills.

I CAN'T WAIT FIR WINTER!!! I just finished Cress and I wanted to cry because it was over. I. Am. In. Love. With Kai and Cinder's relationship. I was all giddy when they talked but I think its funny that every guy she was hinting about being princess Selene was sooo slow, like really? It's freaking oblivious! Cried when Erland died :-/ a little though. Then when Thorne kissed Cress I squeeled. This book had me so emotional, mostly exitment, but people stared anx I wish I had someone to laugh about it with. My favorite part was when Thorne and Cinder were reunited and Cinder asked "when did you have time to get an escort?"

Iko... when we first met her at the beginning of Cinder, I first thought iko was some acronym that I was too uncool to know... But I love her character. Comic relief.

OKAY! I CAN'T EVEN.....-takes deep breath- I LOVE this book talk it made me laugh and smile and make all sorts of unintelligible sounds the whole time. Which it being 2:20am with people next door is not so good. No offense to other booktubers who are awesome but you are my FAVORITE. You are just so expressive and passionate and so funny. I loved Cress, and after this I just want to reread the whole series again lol.
Now that I'm done being a fangirl (mostly) Things about Cress that I LOVED was that kiss during the fight scene. How Thorn had kept his promise and just that he had made it a perfect first kiss for her. I found their relationship so freaking adorable! I loved how protective Thorn was with Cress and the little ways he showed it. The kidnap scene was freaking AWESOME as well as the fight that followed. It was interesting to find out how the Lunars and Earthens commingled and found some sort of peace with each other in Africa and it gave me hope that it could happen on a large scale. OKAY, I could go on and on lol but then this would be EVEN MORE ridiculously long.

Ok, OKAY, I'm won over now. Confession: Read Cinder, got invested in Cinder & Kai, so much so that I was UPSET that Scarlet didn't have them face to face again so I momentarily gave up on the series. I was kicking pillows all, "I don't give a damn about Scarlet & some WolF! GIVE ME CINDER AND KAI BACK!" You make it sound exciting and worth reading. I give *hands up*

And, Iko is like the coolest andriod ever, she's more like human than a robot. And im just sosad for Wolf and Scarlet some how lol... this series is torturing me like a deadly fantasy!!!

Yes!!! I finished the three books in five days. Yes, I know, not healthy but I was addicted and Cress was my favorite by far. I guess in a way I could imagine myself acting like her in everything from her crush to Throrne to the way she was awkward with cinder and my favorite scene (not spoiling anything) was the last few where you know who sees you know who again and he's totally freaking about but she just doesn't care!

Cress has definitely been my favorite so far. I love Thorne so much. I really love Wolf an Kai too but Thorne ranks as #1. Such a wonderfully written series. i'm excited for Winter and to see what happens to Scarlet. The parts where it's mentioned that you can hear Wolf's howls of heartbreak totally just rip my heart out. I feel so bad for him. Also, Cinder and Kai! Yay yay yay!! 10/10!
