@AARbassboss If you notice up on the rod there is a line counter. you can get them from Bass Pro. Little square box 12 inches up from the reels.

@trophyfisher13 Oh yeah, I know Jordan well. Casting smithwick rattlin rouges on points in April and May are your best bet with just a bait caster for sure. In winter you can jig under schools of dying shad, they are easy to find near the ramp at ebanezer ramp. That lake seems to run a month behind others in the south. It starts in March on other lakes.

Basically. I made this rig with 300lb mono and a few 3oz egg sinkers. It’s a 12/0 Eagle Claw treble. There’s a clip that attaches and slides down the line to retrieve it. You can get a pre-made one online, it’s OK, but there is an S clip that needs to be upgraded or it will straighten out.

We leave the clickers on in every video so the viewer can tell what the fish is doing. It's so you can hear the fish take line.
What are the plastic swimbaits called. Nice catches as well.
We use Berkley power bait swim Shad.
Is straight braid to umbrella the best line to use? what lb? thanks
I don’t like braid for U rigs. I use 30lb mono. When big fish hit that rig you need some shock absorber. I rarely pull deeper than 25/30ft so the braid isn’t an advantage.

What's the lure retriever called? Does it have a treble hook on the end? I couldnt get a good look at it. I want to try an umbrella rig, but if I lose one I will be sick.
PJ Jackson You can get a Jerry Hester umbrella rig retriever at Capt Mack’s online. 👍

I actually made those.
PJ Jackson the Jerry retriever works just as well as the ones I made. Just replace the S clip when you get it. The clip straightens out over time.
I honestly would use these rods for everything. Accurate JUST came back out with these rods. Make sure you get the Med/Light. They will be available in a few weeks. The Seeker version is 7020c ML

You can add a line counter on the reel or a lot of guys mark the line with tape

Sorry. I had to stop selling them. The excise tax was so high it wasn't worth it.

Sorry brother. I wish I could help. I would just be guessing if I recommended something. I still make my own. I use a Sea Striker 20” frames, 150lb test mono. Heavy duty snap swivels and whatever swim baits you like. The leaders on the 4 corners are 6” long, the 4 inner leaders are 12” long, the center leader is 20” long. You can bypass the leaders all together and just snap the swivels directly to the frame, but I wouldn’t recommend it

I made it. They sell an OK one online. Search umbrella rig retriever. Just upgrade the S clip on it. It will straighten out.

Sure brother!! I would use a chain connector like this. Even when they are super small they won’t straighten out like the S clip. This link is for a bigger one.
