I’m a russian and it’s so sad that all these things are happening in 21st century. I just want to live in peace. I have friends from Ukraine who are in danger. I don’t want to be a part of my government’s “wants”. It’s their business, these highly place fat individuals, not the Russian people. We want a peaceful sky. Everyone who has a bit of brain try to support Ukraine. Of course there are some older people who have their brains washed, the victims of propaganda, in every country they are there. Guys, please, you, who read my comment don’t blame and hate my nation, It’s not my fault I was born here. I love my country, my parents, my friends but I don’t like my government and I’m against it just like you. I hope I expressed my thoughts correctly and you ll get what I tried to explain. P.S. All the sanctions affect russian people not the government. Rich people will get richer and poor poorer. I just want other countries to understand that they don’t have to impact electoral base through the sanctions. People don’t want this government to rule. The elections mostly have been falsificated and young people like me want clever and honest president. Not like the current one. Tbh I don’t want to work for 400 dollars per month in Moscow when this is only the price of rent. And now I don’t know what can I possibly do to live how I want to.

That's why I was so bothered by Destiny's retarded takes. I live less than 1500km from Kyiv. This shit is real. I watch the news as soon as I can not to "watch people getting blown up" but to know if need to react to something happening as soon as possible. I'm not saying that all Americans think this, but some are so detached from events going on around the world.
Events like these happen really quickly and it's something you can't just "sleep and watch it the next day"...

I live in Bulgaria Eastern Europe. I am 2 countries below Ukraine but that shit still scares me. Hope we don't go to nukes or else whole Europe would be in corpses.

I'm not from Ukraine, but I've seen videos from places under attack. the saddest one was in some rural area, guy rushes outside screaming "fuck, it's right near us!" then sees DOZENS of missiles exploding in like 100m from him, now him screaming in despair "it's on us! it's on us!" and the video cuts off
I'm from Ukraine it's pretty bad right now. I'm afraid that i wont be able to watch X if i go to the bunker or something. It's pretty scary right now, things look almost like during the covid pandemic, all shops are overcrowded. Fuel is running low too, so much people in line waiting for hours just to refuel they car to leave the city. And that's spiced with constant bombardments and sirens.
At least i'm safe for now, but i'm in the middle of the country with nowhere to go.

I'm Serbian and the thought of this shit happening again is scary and surreal. My country went through hell after all that communist and nato conflict and we're still recovering from it. I feel so bad for my Ukrainian and Russian brothers and sisters who just wanna live a normal life while having fucking putin as a leader. I don’t always agree with Destiny but he’s incredibly kind and patient when ppl genuinely want to learn. He can be intense and biting most times but he’s informative and understanding when it counts most.

The best thing about destiny is that even if he’s wrong about something he’s open to taking to someone about it. When Hasan is wrong he stays in his own bubble of people that agree with him

Around 8:08 someone in chat said "I don't care to learn" - and that's why the world will continue to have problems. ADHD coomers who exist only to be entertained forever screw the world's chance at becoming a better place. If people cared enough to learn NOW, doesn't matter their age (I know a lot of twitch juicers are likely children) they can impact the world tomorrow. If teens put in the effort to actually learn the conflicts and what's good and bad, we'd have better politicians that are actively trying to change things for the better.
But instead, we're going to keep seeing the same vicious cycle of politicians who see things one way and have a narrow-minded point of view, not actually knowing what's best. People like Mr. Chatter who "don't care to learn" are using the excuse of, it doesn't affect me, I'm too young to make a difference, this topic is boring to me. That's pathetic. I get where you're coming from but kinda disagree. Most people don't want to know because they don't want to be people whose opinions and knowledge matter. They don't want to be involved in important decisions. They just want to enjoy the simple things in life and take it at face value. As long as the intelligent ones of us take interest, which we naturally do, then we will have some people who are actually informed and can make those decisions. Although of course, corruption in politics messes that all up. But that's a different issue.

It consists of 5 permanent members: US, UK, France, China, Russia(the victors of WW2); the other 10 are elected and it changes every 2 years. The current UN Security Council Members, besides the permanent 5, are:
Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana, India, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, Norway, and the UAE. Then among the Permanent Members, they rotate the Presidency.
What's awkward is the current UN Security Council President is....*drum rolls RUSSIA lol
Any of the 5 Permanent Members(China, France, Russia, UK, US) have a veto power, and usually China and Russia off-sets France, UK, and US on political stances, basically East vs West. Politics is complicated :/

The news matters to people living in Europe or people who have family in or near the conflict area. That's also why people want to be informed.
Maybe it doesn't concern you who don't live near the conflict area. But it does concern a lot of people.

Apparently this is all for entertainment, not because it is important to know. Destiny had a bad take, its not about who is more educated in the end. If you're in a hospital and a loved one is in critical condition, you want to know whether or not they will be okay. Sure you could go to sleep and learn after the fact, but i'd say a lot of people are worried about what will happen in the moment. Knowing that the situation is better will soothe that worry and knowing the situation is worse will also probably soothe your mind because simply sleeping will make your mind run. You may imagine better or worse scenarios. I appreciate that destiny informed everyone on the other things though.

Was never really a Destiny fan but after hearing his take on the nuclear part, I really enjoyed his analogy on it.
Destiny is brutally harsh, pragmatic, and a stickler for empirical evidence and historiography.
I think he’s a very informed person but his predictions and takes IMO rely heavily on past interests and trying to draw stringent lines.

I didn't like how he spoke how it's entertainment, but that's how it is. People who don't live near Russia, or even another conflicts just don't care about human lives lost, meme and joke about it and watch news for entertainment, so they can talk to their friends how another city got bombed, because that's just objectively interesting. You could say most anything he says without being edgy/very blunt about it and you would be right.
As a bulgarian and a slavic person that has the most common culture to the serbian, ukrainian and russian ones i feel discomfort and I'm weirded out on a personal level from this whole situation. If any ukrainians are in need of help and are reading this then please apply for assylum in the bulgarian embassy. We may not be the richest eu country but we are slavic, orthodox and the birthplace of the cyrillic world. You will feel safe in our country and be in almost the same cultural and linguistic group as your home one. Stay safe and don't be afraid to seek out help.
