I just read that the song has been around since the 18th century. They changed it up a bit and redid the melody but the song itself is way older than the animals.

14, years old, this song still remains to be greatest of all time, your generation was the time of good music.
@@bobanekification are you 80? Interesting!

MAY 18, 2020 - 56 YEARS AGO (in 1964) The Animals recorded House of the Rising Sun at De Lane Lea Studios, Kingsway, London. ♥♫ Happy Anniversary and thanks to The Animals for their great version of this song! Please give them a BIG THUMBS UP! th-cam.com/video/4-43lLKaqBQ/w-d-xo.html
I'm 25 and my co-worker, who are 17 years old, know this amazing song too. I didn't know that this song is older than I believe. God bless this song.
This song has been around since the late 1960"s
Versions of this song have been around since before the civil war, although the Animals made it the classic it is today.
This song will never grow old, it's still one of the best
This is one of the most American-sounding songs ever recorded, in my opinion, so I was quite surprised to learn that House of the Rising Sun originated in England. Based on an old English folk song about a pub, apparently.
The best rendition of this classic song, ever. I thought it was great when I first heard it in 1964 and still think so today.
So Damn True!!!!!!
Song was way ahead of their time. Classic.
No it was the perfect time.❤
I just read that the song has been around since the 18th century. They changed it up a bit and redid the melody but the song itself is way older than the animals.
@@farmsgrace341 It's been recorded many times by a lot of different singers, including Joan Baez, Ronnie Gilbert (The Weavers,)Woody Guthrie, Jimi Hendrix, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton and Haley Reinhart to name just a few of them.
This song still resonates.....it ALWAYS will. I agree with you.
If you are listening this in May 2021 you are a Legend
I am!
Thank you ill take it the Legend that is
Well hell who knew I was a legend
the animals did not origionally write the song it was ...Clarence Ashley & Gwen Foster ....6 September 1933....
Brilliant just brilliant song and group.
Sem comentários! Nostalgia pura! Isso sim é música!! Viagem ao passado com qualidade
I'm 62 and still fan of THE ANIMALS.

When I look at Eric I would never have guessed that that powerful voice belongs to him. Great song. 2021!
I remember listening to this song behind the Iron Curtain back in 1964. It sent chills down my spine. Still does. Superb lyrics and a fantastic voice to deliver it.
And, God, I know I'm one...
The absolutely best rendition of "House of the Rising Sun" in my opinion.
Don't be so Humble.....Shout this!
I was 10 years old when this song came out it's still the best version!!
...Eric Burdon and the Animals breathed soul into this song...THEY GAVE IT AN INDELIBLE TOUCH...sung in their image...they own it... others have attempted but none have been able to conjure up that spirit...they are imitations...
in my opinion the absolute best recording of this song! What a voice and the keyboard artist is unreal!
My favorite is definitely the Everly brothers cover
Yes 👍
The animals The House of the Rising Sun one of the best videos in the songs ever heard of 1964!!!
Lyrics:
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's all drunk
Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun
Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one
👍

IS the keyboard track on a loop? Because it doesn't look like his hands are matching the music. OR am I completely wrong?
(very possible, my music training stopped with 4th grade recorder)
