Oku no Hosomichi (meaning Narrow Road to Oku [the Deep North]) is a major work by Matsuo Bashō.
Oku no Hosomichi was written based on a journey taken by Bashō in the late spring of 1689. He and his traveling companion Sora departed from Edo (modern-day Tokyo) for the northerly interior region known as Oku, propelled mostly by a desire to see the places about which the old poets wrote. Travel in those days was, of course, very dangerous to one’s health, but Bashō was committed to a kind of poetic ideal of wandering. He travelled for about 156 days all together, covering thousands of miles mostly on foot. Of all of Bashō’s works, Oku no Hosomichi is best known. (Summary from Wikipedia)

Yes I'm trying to learn Japanese... wish me luck bros/sis.... and good luck anyone who's learning it... we all gunna need it!
Good luck I’m also learning and so far I know all the characters in hiragana and katakana. so now that I’m learning word it’s easier for me to know how to pronounce them. Kanji has been challenging to learn though.
@@Sebass0107 kanji has been? Yo I'm still learning hiragana... and some partial word here n there... kanji will come later for me!
I recommend WaniKani for Kanji learning. It works like a charm. I'm at level 9 btw. Started few months ago. You can try first three levels for free before making purchase though.
@@aryalaashaya alright👌
@@aryalaashaya I used RTK which is not a subscription and I finished all 2000 common use kanji in three months... Wani kani is an attempt at improving the original but just like starwars... that didn't work.

Oh, could it be because you speak English and not Japanese? [°O°]

This is ancient Japanese poetry lol 😂
This famous travel journal with many Haiku by Matsuo Basho was published in 1702, so it has the old-style phrases and words.
