      S Agrawal Moment at A is found by finding reactions before splitting the member i.e. in the entire structure , the equation to find Ma would be (considering Ma clockwise)
      Ma + 20*3 + 16*5 + 6*5*2.5 - 10*3 = 0
      The moment at B is found after splitting the members,the equation for finding Mb (considering Mb clockwise) is:
      Mb + 26*5 - 185 - 20*2 = 0
      I hope you got this.

    • @DCBAonline

      Mx in CD is generated about point D. Since CD is divided into two spans therefore you need to write Mx equation for both spans separately

    SIR HOW DO YOU GET MOMENT =185 , AT POINT A ..?

    • @Amazing_Nonto
      @Amazing_Nonto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sum of moments at A taking anti clockwise as positive = 0. Ma-6(5)(2.5)+10(3)-20(3)-16(5)=0, Ma is therefore 185. Same direction as initially assumed, thus anti clockwise

    which direction is positive? anti- or clockwise?

    • @DCBAonline
      @DCBAonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That really depends on you, you can consider either of them to be positive but you have to stick with it in entire numerical. Standard sign conventions cannot be enforced as different countries follow it differently.

    At 6:37 you have got a clockwise moment at C i.e. 20kNm. Shouldn't it be +130kNm. You missed the 30kN vertical force. Is this deduction correct, or am I missing something here?

    At STEP 3 UNIT LOAD STRUCTURE how the Mx be -1 (except A) as you have taken clockwise moment +ve..?

    • @DCBAonline
      @DCBAonline  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kshitij Kumar while writing moment equations it is not clockwise or anticlockwise that is positive or negative it is based on sign convention that you follow for drawing bending moments for eg sagging positive and hogging negative, for more details you can watch a video on channel that is completely dedicated in understanding moment sign conventions

    • @K5h1tij

      DCBA online if we have to see hogging and sagging BM then why did you tell the direction +ve and -ve ?? 😅. It is confusing me

    • @DCBAonline
      @DCBAonline  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kshitij Kumar perhaps hogging and sagging is just one sign convention, another sign convention is
      Clockwise moments from left hand side are positive
      Anticlockwise moments from left side are negative
      Clockwise moments from right side are negative
      Anticlockwise moments from left side are positive
      After knowing these sign convention watch the video again you might understand

    • @DCBAonline
