      @@naspointO except it’s not at all like that, the two submission you just name are attacks on the ligaments in your shoulder and knee, which yes would be a duck move since those can pop at any moment. What he did isn’t a shoulder lock, it’s an overextension of the elbow akin to an armbar. You’ll hurt someone like that and maybe even overextend their arm. But he didn’t hold onto that nearly long enough to extend tht arm to the breaking point. If anything it would be like slapping on an armbar real fast, which has a completely different level of danger associated w/ it compared to heel hooks and Americanas. It’s about as much of a “dirty move” as a knee stomp and would have a similar kind of effect on the arm as tht has on the leg

    • @donnyj5805
      @donnyj5805 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@naspointO again, as someone who’s train the position I’m telling you there’s not a shoulder lock there. Idk if you know what a straight armbar from side control is but the rotation on the arm doesnt lock the shoulder. When pull an arm diagonally across your hip they tell you to pinch you knees because pulling the arm horizontally away from the hand most easily puts pressure in the elbow joint. Same here, the horizontal motion is to pull the hand he has in his armpit as far away from the rest of the arm as quickly as possible while pushing up on the elbow joint . If your arm is as extended as his is your not gonna get pressure on the shoulder until the arm has completely broken and given way. You can tell the difference in where the pressure is at yourself at home by putting your arms straight out in front of you and rotating them. At first you’ll feel the pressure on your elbow like in this video, it’s not until you completely rotate the arm and try to bring it your thumb back to you shoulder (which is why they teach you to keep the hand as close to the back as possible in keylocks and kimuras) that you’ll feel the pressure on your shoulder. That’s why Sean instantly grabs his elbow and not the shoulder. Not trying to be combative btw genuinely trying to educate

    That specific move usually snaps arms if it's ever locked in. He wasn't trying to submit him he was trying to break his arm. Usually they dont have enough time to tap.

    Chael you've never seen that before? It's basically a standing Mir lock. The difference is, Orlando did it at 110% speed on someone 100 lbs smaller than him with 0 opportunity to tap out. It was a "snap or snap" submission. On top of that, immediately after being accused, he defends himself by saying "you've been talking shit saying I don't belong here!11!!1!" -- he admitted his own motive four seconds after doing it.
    He didn't do it to get him to remove the arm, there isn't even an opportunity to remove the arm before the move is complete.
