    Excellent video, as usual, Kang. Thank you for being so thorough and explaining that you must cross-pollinate one of the plants. I will look for the video that goes in to further detail. These are the little things, that other people don't mention. Please, keep making these wonderful videos. You always seem to have thought of simple systems and devices to use that makes it possible for anyone to get started with growing their gardens.

    Exciting stuff! Trying my hand in crossing for the first time here shortly. I grow mammoth jalepenos to do poppers on the smoker, but I want more heat. Taking some larger super hots and crossing them over to see if I can stay relatively the same size but add some heat. I'm so excited!

    Hey Khang! I've been watching your videos for a bit now and have learned a bunch from your videos. I was wondering if you would do a weekly grow journal/experiment focusing on how peppers grow under different lighting types such as "blurple" full spectrum, "white" full spectrum, HID and maybe a UFO style high bay just to show everyone, including myself, the different outcomes with pro and cons of each.

    I might try that if it weren't so cold in my house during the winter. Maybe if I get a heater for my aerogarden I could try growing a pepper in there.

    Thanks for all your tips. I have a few questions. I have a sproutsio and growing matchbox pepper. multiple seeds are growing in one spot so I am going to the remove them and leave one (thinning) and move it to an aerogarden i just ordered because I do not want to waste them. For the aerogarden, I will use the existing basket and insert the plant. You didn't show you put the plant into the sponge. did you cut into it and fit it in? Also, instead of water, do i put the nutrient water mixture you suggested for pepper? Should I plug in the pump or have it plug into a smartthing adapter to schedule when to turn on a off for oxygenating the water? Lastly, do I have to drain and replace the water every 2 weeks. I was reading that this system is like the deep water culture (CWC).

    How would you go about transplanting? I hear that some stay away from transplanting into soil as it may shock and kill the plant.

    Possibly been asked before , could you make a video on how to mix nutrients in smaller amount since a short experiment doesn’t require a whole gallon of mix, And also, how long can the mix be stored for future refill or do we have to dump and make new every time?

    Instead of using hydroponic nutritions, would it be possible to use e.g. liquid organic fertilizer mixed with water (the one we would usually water our plants with)?? Have you tried that?
    Another good way to cover the bottles is with socks. Everyone has them and they are large and flexible ;-)

    you can put a reservoir bottle upside down just like the chicken and keeps waterlevel at the bottom you understand what im saying try it!

    Great tutorial Khang! What is your typical number of days from seed to ripe pod in one of those cups? Today is 300 days from seed for (3) peppers in one of my Aerogardens. Those plants started getting ripe pods after 150 days, and started really loading up on pods around 270 days from seed.

    • @KhangStarr
      @KhangStarr  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peppers grow best between 70-85F and require 4-6 months. If your area doesn't have a long summer, start your seeds 2-3 months indoor, then take them outside when it's warm.

    • @ddtblack

      Could be anything from lack of light, to lack of nutrients (mobile nutrients, since the plants cannibalizes the lower leaves to feed the higher ones), to over/underwatering, to insects or diseases. Look for particular signs like: are the leaves yellow, which could mean lack of Nitrogen, are they damaged, maybe by insects you haven't noticed yet. Also think about what's underground: what is the root zone like? Too wet, too dry, too cold...
