  • These videos are all the Josh and Donna lines from the 2 episodes Election Day 6-16 and 6-17. They are my favorite couple, and I love how Donna is careful to Josh in these heavy emotionnal day.
I think after the kiss from the Cold, this is a really big "Finally!" episode.
Josh best line : Do I have her?

I still watch re-runs of this show...loved it then, love it now. Best writing and characters ever. And the sad thing is that all the issues are STILL RELEVANT TODAY. We haven't progressed very much...

Quite possibly the best tv show ever from America. Got all the boxed sets, and watch it every year from start to finish. It's amazing, beautiful, poetic and Shakespearian.

This is such an emotional episode, that does an amazing job of showing the bond of Josh and Donna. I love the way he is hugging her when he mouths thanks to Santos, so sweet and protective, all encompassing.

The fact that the only person Josh even bothered to hug and hold on to was Donna warms my heart.

I watched this series for the first time earlier this year. Took under a month for all seven seasons. And I just started again from the beginning. I think I might have a problem.

Ro G I just started watching season 7. I never saw West Wing during the time it aired. I decided to buy the DVD's watching one season a month. I decided to start watching this now because of the horrific Trump presidency we are dealing with now. It is my "therapy" for giving me hope that we will get through this horrific time...and hopefully back to "the common sense, values, dignity and respect" that most Presidents brought us compared to Trump. I think watching West Wing helps with a good civics lesson also. Plus I love the "Josh and Donna banter"...they both are sharp as cookies and so intelligent in their introspective characters. It was obvious from the beginning how great they were for one another...can't wait to see how it all turns out. Great show incredible "realistic" superb acting. Martin Sheen is so perfect as "an imperfect but great wise President! Thanks for letting me share..

"Ow" When he leans on her chest. You can tell that kinda hurt because she flinched. Poor Josh lost his dad and then his mentor both on a night he should have been celebrating with them. :(

I think that these scenes show why Donna and Josh were a good couple- they contrasted and so complemented each other. Josh and Amy were too similar and too strong to make it as a couple. Amy was smart and so capable and brilliant in her thinking but she wasn't a likeable character and lacked necessary softness although she did yes have empathy but she was abrasive and probably never learned to ease off in certain situations- she probably put a lot of people off because she had one speed and one approach- these points are NOT because she was female- they're made about a person. Cause Josh could be abrasive and arrogant too but I think that he did learn and he had a softness and an empathy that came across more. I think that was one of the major pluses about this show- that it showed that even people you admire you don;t always like and that we all have flaws but you have to look at the whole person.

@@varianschirmer9375 I think in some interview Aaron Sorkin conceded that they should have been together sooner.
It was down to his style of writing that they weren't.
By the time this happened he had long since left the show but glad am I that it did!

@@flyingdutch9818 I dig them but I've never actually seen the series from beginning to end (just the first two seasons a couple years back) because it's not really available in my country. I'm genuinely curious about your point of view, could you elaborate, please? 🙂 I was very disappointed when I read the most popular fanfiction about Josh/Donna and found Josh in it terribly controlling and manipulative. So I'm now wondering (thanks to your comment) if I've misinterpreted their storyline in the series.

Josh is such a compelling character. He feels guilt over his sister, so he wants to make his life worth something. He loses his father on Bartlet's big day, so he wants to win so his father is proud. He is so loyal to Leo because Leo gave him his big chance, so he doesn't want to let him down. And he convinced Santos run, so he doesn't want to let him down.

There is last strongly scene to this episode: while everybody is celebrating Santo's victory, Josh discretely leaves to the main control room, adds the Nevada counting to the total, paints the Nevada map blue (meaning a democratic victory) and then touches Leo's photograph on the wall, whispering "thanks, boss."

There is one scene you missed, when Josh fills in Nevada on the whiteboard. I love it because the day begins with him filling in the first state and ends with him filling in the winning states. Not certain if Donna is in it but its a great moment.

This was so much worse to watch in real time in 2006 because John Spencer had passed away several months before so people were pretty certain they’d kill him off. Heck, the ads would even mention that it was John Spencer’s final episode. You can tell the cast is as agonized as the characters would be.
