Budget 2025: Besides Income Tax relief for salaried class, key announcements for Direct Taxation

Along with a slew of reforms in the Indirect Taxation, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced major reforms in the Direct Taxation arena. FM stressed that the New Income Tax Bill will be simpler, easier and clearer to understand for the common man. She also mentioned that the Personal Income Tax reforms have been made to focus on the middle-class. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also announced that the tax deduction limit for senior citizens will be doubled to ₹1 lakh from Rs. 50,000.
