It's crazy seeing Lecrae meet his Dad after years of listening to his music and hearing him articulate the pain of never knowing his father.

I listened to your music for the first time in rehab and I have loved your music and felt your lyrics and how deep they are since. To have somebody that is a rapper but isn’t ashamed for their fire for Christ and to make music about it is so touching! Keep making a difference! Thank you for letting us in to your life through this documentary.. I struggle with an absent father and it has effected me my whole life in the choices I made I spent my life trying to fill that void and searching for love in wrong people and places before I came to Christ. I can relate to this pain so much . I kept trying to chase after my father begging him to love me and it kept just breaking me everytime I was denied that love or relationship .You are just so humble and you can tell how great of a person you are and your heart. I’m glad I was able to watch this and relate so much. 💕🙏🏻

God was definitely with Lecrae when he met his dad. My dad wasn’t in my life either and the military moved me to the same state he and my grandma has just moved to only 40 minutes away. We have dinner every other week. I had to just let go of the past and walk in forgiveness even though he doesn’t see his wrong because mentally I don’t think he was even able to be there for me. I thank God for being my Father, when my dad didn’t know how to be!

I feel the same way just keep praying That God will open his eyes to realize his wrongs , because people always think that there right in God eyes and in themselves morally, but God weighs the heart , we all have fallen short of Gods glory just like in the beginning with Adam and Eve , we aren’t perfect , but strive for perfection through Jesus Christ . Right now I’m going through the same situation and I appreciate you sharing that ,and I pray that God makes a change between you and your father in Jesus name! God bless you!!

Lecrae thanks for sharing this moment with the world. It must have been tough being so transparent about the meeting with your father. I have a similar experience with my father and when your father told you "nothing belongs to me, everything belong to Jesus". My dad said the same thing, and all i could think was man take some responsibility. But I have grown since that encounter, and God has put love in me for him. So for the first time i am about to send a fathers day gift just to show the same grace Jesus has shown me. thanks again for the vid!

I already assumed that there were parallels in our stories through your music, but wow. Learning more about you through this project truly reminds me that there are no coincidences when it comes to God and His people. I thank you for opening up in the ways that you are and for using your platform to lift up others. I know that you probably hear this often and I'm glad if you do, but your music and some of the other dudes in the clique obviously due to God's intervention saved my life and livelihood while I was in rehab. To go from a relapse and isolating myself for a whole year just getting high and evading my family to truly building a life with God's people... sharing ATWT was one of the first ways I was able to connect with people when I began to socialize again. I was able to spend the little money that I had at the time on your album and not a pack of cigarettes. I was able to take a chance and request the driver play your album in the van when we went on outings at my rehab with sometimes up to 15 of us in the whip scared they were gonna think I was lame and finding out they all loved it. The other ladies started requesting certain songs and then started borrowing the whole album during periods of free time we would have. I heard you say something in the live chat the other night about that album and I dont remember what you said but I remember it sounding like unease about that album. You should know that whatever you went through during the making and distribution of that album that may have left you feeling unsure...just know for a FACT that it made a difference. I love you and I thank God for using you. I thank God that you're brave enough to be on the front lines. I thank God that you're speaking out on the spirits of depression and identity and I pray that God will continue to keep you, your family, and bless you all in greater and greater ways. ❤🙏🏾💐

On the real, I fast forwarded to the part where you and sister met up with your father. Pretty powerful stuff and that was mighty brave of you and your sister. You stated that it was “too late for your father to be your Dad.” I can say my father wasn’t there during my teenage years. It was not until I met Jesus and was forgiven that I was able to forgive my father which lead to loving my father. In that love from Jesus, it compelled me to love my father even more even if he didn’t deserve it. When my father felt that genuine love from me, this opened up the door for a better relationship with him. As the relationship and the love grew, then I chose not to dwell on the negative and walk down the path of his life to gain understanding. That’s where I began to honor him. At that point, he became my “Dad” again! It was definitely a process and takes time but now I can say that God used me in my father’s life to bring hope. It ain’t over bro, the seed has been planted and God will do the rest. Continue to stay in touch with your father and watch God do some amazing things! Praying for that continued restoration in your life! 🙏🏾

I too have felt this moment and to know God has restored my pain with peace because I forgave is something you can’t explain. Forgiveness is not just for them it’s for you! When you can forgive someone who deeply hurt you it gives you a glimpse of what Christ felt on the cross. Thank you for your blood Jesus!

I felt this meeting your father. My parents divorced in 2016 the year after I graduated high school. Me and my sister were shook. My parents were together 22 years and I grew up in a Christian home and didn’t think that was supposed to happen. 2021 I reached out to my dad and wanted to let the past go. We never had a close relationship really but working out was really the only way we bonded. It’s still kind of tough and I met my step sister and brother for the first time about a month ago as well as my stepmom. I was angered I couldn’t have a personal relationship with just him with my sister but Jesus forgave me so I must forgive. Lecrae you opened my eyes with grace with meeting with your father. I ask for all of your prayers that God continues to help my relationship grow with my dad and hopefully my sister will eventually be ready. Keep up the good work bro. Much love! ATWT 🔥

Happy to see you meet your father,
Sad to know that you have missed fathers live in your childhood or adolescence but it’s a blessing from the Sovereign Lord the only true god high above how he make you so successful and provided you better life than your real human father.
You’re so much loved 🥰 than fleshly human love which ain’t pure like the Heavenly Father nor it’s eternal like our god Almighty s love ❤️ towards us.

Lacrae I could still that you are hurtby what you are saying . You have remember true restoration comes from God himself, you will always be wounded but at the same time we have to look at how is God getting glory out of the , glorify God within this situation and you will see your wounds be healed. But at the same time I could be wrong...keep up the good work homie. ..

Thank you brother for showing your life you have help me and a lot this to your Muzik too .my dad was not to involved in my life but more than your s. My dad said he's stayed away he didn't want me to turn out like him. And that if I was ever ready he knew that I would come through which I came through we have a tighter relationship he's not living for the Lord. But his praise about me. Is good and I told him it's because of God even though he says he doesn't believe there is. Rather he follows God or not I'm going to talk to him as long as the Lord will allow me.
