    It's very, VERY important for these grounded, authentic, well-spoken, intelligent transgenders to be interviewed in this kind of non-provocative, dumb-questions-are-okay kind of way. This actually changed my views drastically. Excellent interview and an excellent interviewee!

    THIS woman is actually a great person to speak on trans topics.
    Wish there were more down to earth women like her getting the spotlight. more people might get a reasonable impression.
    and she's both clear and tactful on explaining things while being relaxed and approachable. I'd want to know her / connect some of my trans friends with her. she'd be a good influence on anyone

    • @Chukanu
      @Chukanu 6 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      The problem is a lot of trans people trend towards hysterics because they have very difficult lives, more often than not their parents are disgusted by them, they lose friends, jobs etc etc and this cascade of bad shit happening can really just turn you into an unpleasant emotional person. You get these types that look outwardly (which is somewhat fair) and accuse anyone and everyone of some kind of moral wrong. This woman is very lucky she had/has the support network she clearly does and maybe if society as a whole was more open to this kinda thing we wouldn't have this ridiculously emotional political atmosphere we currently do.

      Crazy people attract attention... That's why when someone talks about feminism they always assume it's radical feminism/marxist feminism as opposed to liberal/difference feminism... The only real notable person with liberal feminist positions (who self-identifies as a feminist despite recent controversies, although she refers to herself as an 'equity feminist') is Christina Hoff Sommers... And a big reason she gets attention is because of radical feminists inaccurately accusing her of not being a feminist when she's actually just not they're branch of feminism... And I don't even know of any notable difference feminists... Marxist feminists and radical feminists kinda mix together since they're both the sort to make debunked arguments like the wage gap or pink tax... At least, I assume marxist feminists make those arguments since it seems to fit their philosophy, though I haven't heard of a self-identifying Marxist Feminist...
      (There are more feminisms than four btw if you use a different typology)

    This interview changed my mind. This is one of the most unbiased, eye opening interviews I’ve ever seen. You have to respect this woman’s request to be called a woman: She’s not some dude in a wig forcing us to call him a woman. She is all about it to the core. We actually get to see a happy, normal trans person rather than some crazy lunatic trans which the media always shows. It’s not our business how other people feel about certain things as long as they are serious. This isn’t a cry for attention, she genuinely couldn’t control this growing up.

      @Christian Toth if you want to get down to the nitty gritty it just has to do with the masculinization or lack of masculinization of the brain in the second half of pregnancy. Even with XY genes if the womb has low testoserone levels in the second half, the brain will be female regardless of genitals which form in the first half. The brain is then hardwired to run better on estrogen in this case. It’s much more than just someone believing in fate lmao

      Not all hate him because to hate people is a sin but we should hate sin and not say that it is okay because it is not okay to live in sin. And if we are born men we should be men and if we are born women we should be women. And if you are straight and fornicate or commit adultery or get drunk you are guilty of sin as well but people who preach repentance love while non christians and false christians hate because they support people going to hell knowingly or unknowingly.

      For an example, dispite my beliefs siding with the trans community, I dont believe in saying things grammatically incorrect just because people want to be refered to as a fake tumblr gender.
      With that being said, I understand gender is a spectrum and like, just out of respect, I will call someone by their prefered pronoun. Even if its a fake one. Doesnt effect me in any way. I don't agree with it but there is no reason for me to not be respectful.

MOST people do not have enough time in their day nor effort to willingly seek to hurt people. MOST people work 8 - 12 hours a day, come home and rest. MOST hate occur randomly (by small chance) when you are in the wrong place at the wrong time and (both people) lack critical thinking skills resulting in HATE COMMUNICATION at that instance in time.

      no one hates transgender people ... people hate getting tricked, being forced to change their whole pronoun game up because someone wants to identify as something else, or people being offended for the general population not knowing that someone who looks like 99% of males, but is wearing womens clothing, *needs* to be called a women because they identify as that.. even though they look and sound nothing like what we have been taught a women sounds like.
      thats what they hate. if you want to identify as something - cool. but don't expect people to read your mind and guess what you want to be.
      do I have a right to get pissed at you if you say 'yes sir' because I look like a male, sound like a male, and have a penis , but in my mind I identify as a dolphin. I feel like a dolphin. no one understands. but do I have the right to take that out on people because they cannot read my mind and they have naturally and understandably assimilated typical characteristics and gender norms to a schema that has been learned through repetition from birth.

Meaning, a guy who really feels like he is a woman generally isn't just making it up, but he really feels like he is a woman. Brain scans have shown that men who say they feel like women actually have brains that are closer to a woman's brain compared to a man's brain.

    • @Xeper-I-Set
      @Xeper-I-Set 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm not against transgenders, but the way I understand their point of view goes like this: Trans people identify as something other than their observable biological gender. A person thinking ''I am a woman'' whilst also having male genitalia and a Y chromosome seems utterly paradoxical. The solution to the imbalance between body and mind is not to correct the body, because the body cannot be altered without massive physical surgeries and hormone treatment. Even if those alterations are made, they can't change the fact that they have a Y chromosome/two X chromosomes. The mental identity cannot be observed be outsiders the same way genitalia can, and that would mean you're sacrificing obserervable physical realities in order to facilitate for a person's own subjective, non-physical identity. The solution would be to alter the person's own perception, which would be healthier, less invase and would also not require having to ''knock the slats'' out of several hundred years of cultural perception on gender/sex as well as not having to ignore scientific realities like that fact that sex and gender are profoundly linked together.
      The fatal flaw in this argument IMO is that gender identity also manifests itself in certain brain circuitry. Which means that trans women have the same brain circuits as cis women and trans men have the same brain curcuits as cis men. Basically meaning that altering the mental state would definitely not necessarily be healthier for the person involved, but I don't think there's been any research done on that, so who knows.

    • @dontstart4930
      @dontstart4930 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Xeper-I-Set I’ve heard a little bit about all of what you said, actually. I don’t see how chromosomes would really be a good argument against it, due to the ‘brain-circuitry’ argument pretty much doing the exact opposite of what the chromosome argument does
      Thankyou! C:

    • @Shalanaya
      @Shalanaya 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sex and gender are not scientifically linked together in ways like sex indicates gender, biology of the body creates gender just like sex, that means that biology created their own different physiology of the brain and their identification. The healthier is of course the transition, but the point is to achieve result in more natural ways, that's where science is lacking, but is working on, so the DNA and the molecular structure of the body could be changed. Why is it wrong to transition, well it isn't, when you consider how many people are born with all kinds of defects that require surgery already immediately after birth, or some intersex people who to take hormones for the rest of their lives because they would not survive. One has to understand in case of transsexuals (the term transgenders is misleading) that with their intersexed brain their body is not completely healthy or "balanced" in traditional ways, because body includes the brain, the head is not separate, it is all part of biology. Just because externally it is not seen doesn't mean it doesn't exist, some intersex people (non transsexual) have to take hormones externally as well, their body can seem healthy too, but it is not. It is at its roots physiological issue, not mental. That's how it has been widely observed in scientific circles since 1979. Sometimes when people don't transition soon enough more and more psychological problems start piling up, that's why one could say many of them can seem unstable, when the truth is so much deeper. The psyche becomes imbalanced because the body itself is imbalanced, that includes body's hormones rushing to the opposite gender brain, all comes as a reflection of something that is already inbred in their biology.

    • @DaGleese
      @DaGleese 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's my belief you should play with the cards you are dealt. The body is as it is, and to change it is only superficial, a transgender woman can pull every trick in the book to look like a woman, but they will not be able to give birth. Sure, some real women cannot have kids through some reason or another, but that's just unfortunate in the same way losing a leg is unfortunate. An infertile female and a transgender female are NOT the same thing.
      The mind is plastic and can be changed with work and encouragement. That is what should be addressed. I'm not denying people identify a miss-match between their mind and their body, but why change the body? That's like having a fully working mac book with windows installed on it, and instead of just reformatting and installing OSX all the mac book components are switched out to create a cheap third party windows laptop consisting of non-genuine Chinese knock off parts that LOOK like the real thing, but don't perform anything like it.
      To be a little more personally vulnerable about this, there are a lot of things I hate about myself that surgery could fix, and yes, the idea does come across my mind, it IS tempting. But to turn to surgery would be to lose the war, instead I'll work on those things mentally. I'll make up for what I lack physically in other ways, and after the long hard battle when I have earned what I desire in life I'll have closure. I'm sure if I had surgery it would fix NOTHING. Even if that particular problem was fixed I'd just replace it with something else. It is a psychological issue, not a physical issue. I believe the same to be true for transgenders.

    • @Shalanaya
      @Shalanaya 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As I see it, it is not recognized as a psychological issue by scientists and medical professionals for decades, and gender dysphoria is fixed by surgery, that's why it is used as a treatment and not as some plastic surgery for one's vanity, two different things, which some people probably seem to believe it is the same? but I understand what you mean, but there's a reason why psychologically it has never been cured... I'm talking about real ts people, not those whose gender dysphoria disappeared with age, in those cases that's not severe physiological malfunction and changes by natural growth. Infertile woman and transgender woman are not the same, yes, but are the same in terms of physical handicap. Both happen on the inside. Brain is as much physical and biological as any other part of the body. Trans person can change their mind, but it will not disappear, because it is not an impulse or a feeling, it is a sense of who they are. So it is a question if one is willing to be true to themselves or not, not whether they can change their mind about being trans, that's nonsense, considering that they are born trans. It's like forcing someone heterosexual into being homosexual and vice versa. The cards we are dealt are sometimes death after birth unless we are helped medically. Do we choose to treat some illness or just let it be and die? That's the same case, we are constantly changing our bodies as we go on in life, through treatrments, foods, exercises. One can not treat someone psychologically when the root cause comes from something physiological that causes distress, it is like putting a patch over something, but never really healing anything, in my experience it is superficial and never works for a good reason. When you are bleeding, you don't change your mind and do nothing, you retain some kind of self love and help yourself. It seems like most people simply don't understand it, it's not like some sexual orientation or an impulse to smoke or drink alcohol. It's literally physical through smell, touch, hearing and seeing... this is a philosophical lesson for humankind in my view, to learn what it is to be true to ourselves, and how the outside physical material existence does not control our lives, that includes society or body. They literally follow Einstein's idea, that reality is an illusion, all that exists is God and spirit in our heart, our true invisible self. This is one of the examples why ts people have been highly respected in our ancient cultures, they've been teachers, and I believe the generally higher intelligence of these people is no coincidence, only an indication of that. That's my own perspective.

      Btw, non binary and gender fluid, although confusing are actually not some obnoxious label. People who are often mentally stuck between not knowing whether they may be trans or not often refer to themselves as one of the aforementioned terms because they're not mentally comfortable with male, female, or trans. You wouldn't know that they are non binary if they don't tell you.

    This was quite eye opening for me. I've never actually seen or spoken to an actual transgender person before. The only ones I had seen were the "queen" types who get the media attention and are the ones who get slated a lot. Honestly when I saw a "trans person" dressed up with devil horns reading to little kids looking like something out of frankenstein I really was not okay with that, it was actually scary tbh. So thanks for sharing I guess, I really didn't know there were 'normal' trans people out there if that makes sense. Helps me understand them a lot more. One thing though, I found it interesting that she said she naturally had low Testosterone as a child, I do wonder what might've happened if she'd been treated with extra testosterone instead of estrogen, would she have felt more comfortable as a man, and lived happily as a man, with the added test? Sorry if that's inappropriate but I think it's a fair enough question that probably can't be answered

    • @azeavers6039
      @azeavers6039 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@azeavers6039 does test not affect the hormones in your brain as much as your physicality? Guys with higher test think and act in a more masculine way as well as having more masculine physical structures.
      Makes me think of guys in the gym on test and other gear who become hyper-masculanised, way more agressive, loud, and generally OTT.
      Also more elderly gentleman on HRT to get their libido, energy and drive back which all men lose as you age due to not producing as much test and its well known to bring them back into balance so to speak. They mostly report improvements in all areas of their masculine identity, just google scholar it I cba to link it haha.

    • @chriswyles553
      @chriswyles553 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @GotDRAMAbringit yh I am speculating, if I can't ask questions then what is the point?? I don't really know anything about trans people and presumably you would want someone like me to learn? Instead of having a go maybe just answer the question which you eventually do. Plus, you don't know and can't say what her life might've been like, it seems like a less drastic measure.
      I just don't understand how people are born thinking they should be a different gender. I'm not saying they don't, I'm saying I don't understand it and I'm trying to. No other creature in nature (that isn't capable of naturally shifting gender) seems to have animals that posses traits, behaviours or an observable desire to act and be like the opposite gender. Why is it just humans that are like that?
      And to answer some of your points. I think there is a definite over eagerness to diagnose somebody with gender dysphoria and I am not trying to "subtly" suggest anything, merely asking what might have happened. Suicide rates are far higher among trans people who have transitioned than any other group in society which seems suspect to me and indicative of deeper mental health problems among many trans people of which gender dysphoria may be a symptom. There is one known bodybuilder who is openly trans, I know nothing about the person and i'm not particularly into bodybuilding so in short I have no idea what has lead to them making that decision.

    • @nicolefrazer2800
      @nicolefrazer2800 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Chris Wyles-
      But why speculate:
      Why does it have to be something " MIGHT of happen" to other ppl who are not like you.? This is usually speculations that come from ppl who still think and believe there's a solution to this other than transitioning. You also completely ignored studies of the transgender brain have been done before, brain activity and structure in transgenders more closely resembles the typical activation patterns of their desired gender, normally happens at a young age.
      There definitely also ppl who transitioned for the wrong reasons and were not trans to begin with and found another solution elsewhere while blaming the system and the trans-community because of the results they got. That's due to some ppl transitioned because they are confusing a molestation to gender, also there's ppl who transition to make money, there's ppl who de-transition for religion and there's ppl who are confused sheep. But the percentage of these ppl are rare and low.
      Any person who claims to be trans needs to go to psychiatric evaluations first before such treatments and it's a gender disorder. All hormone medication is under control by an Endocrinologists. Psychiatrists and Endocrinologists are generally reluctant to provide hormone therapy to youths under 16.
      At the end though adults have a choice to make wether to transition or not, ppl should take responsibility for their OWN actions and NOT blame the system that they got brain washed. Or come up with the "I think there is a definite over eagerness to diagnose somebody with gender dysmorphia"
      The eagerness you're talking is being twisted by ppl like you. The eagerness is to make ppl accept themselves and come out as trans if they truly are without fear and to educate society if they're interested.
      "Suicide rates are far higher among trans people who have transitioned" that's completely bogus.
      Why is suicide rate higher ?
      Why trans kill themselves has nothing to do with the surgery or hormone therapy. That's a false conspiracy theory.
      Yes and 99% of them suffering depression because of the social pressure, that's how suicide happens among trans people, how do I know, because I've been visiting their group sessions for years with 100's of them and know that all depressive thoughts have been greatly increased by the judgmental treatment of society. Depression is a result of gender dysphoria at first, until they start transition which is so far the only most effective treatment that's curing it, but once the society start spreading the hatred around them, running away from them, etc, it greatly increases depression on top of it, it's a timing bomb waiting to explode at that point. Anyone with mild depression is a lot more sensitive than others, what society basically does, is they beat them when they're down, figuratively and also literally often. One can just ask all the therapists treating them who know this very well, one gets a very good picture, and it is usually only trans people who know this. Depression rarely happens outside the influence of society anyway, we all are connected, we influence each other all the time, we are all responsible for the well being of others to some extent. Morever, all the people who detransition have never been transsexuals, transition determines a diagnosis whether they are even trans in the first place, it's a diagnosis by treatment, that's why detransition is a necessary part of it, diagnosis has several stages, pre-transition and post-transition.
      It's also important to realize based on countless of research that suicide is greatly reduced after transition... and most of this statistics come from trans people pre-transition anyway, that's why such treatment has been recommended in the first place, because it does work.
      You would be ignorant if you think there's no more bodybuilders conflicted with their gender identity or who like to cross-dress!
      - I work in the mental field

      This is very stupid. If someone thinks they should be the opposite gender, you should do counselling rather than cutting off his body parts.
      What would you do if a normal person believes that they are actually an amputee?(yes, people like that actually exist) do you cut off their arms and legs?
      great! Let us just start cutting every mentally ill patient's body parts. Some people think they're made out of wool. Let us start putting wool in their body.
      This is disturbing. This is a psychological problem, not a physical problem. No matter if you cut off the penis or the testis, he still has an X and a Y chromosome which is literally the combination of a male.
      Such is the stupidity in the west. The west is so developed in technology, military but you're so fucked up when it comes to simple biology. I really feel sorry for that person. It's not her/his fault. It is the society that has let him down.

      But what if you met a trans girl, was attracted to her had a good conversation realised you liked the person, possibly even went on a date, and then at the end of the meeting she said 'oh btw I am trans and was born male.
      You still had that attraction because you didnt know until you where told and assumed she was a cis-gender female.
      In that case you would of experienced attraction to a trans woman and only after finding out suddenly your not? Thats something that is born out of insecurities and societies prejudice that has been placed on trans people. If they still had a penis I could understand but any post-op trans girl is in most cases indistinguishable from a cis-gendered female. Just dont have a womb or ovaries. So to say your not attracted Is fundamentally wrong because you probably couldnt tell unless you were told by a trans person who is fully transitioned and any changes in attraction from then would be born of either your own or societies ingrained prejudices.

      @@Mark-ob8jd Don't you know that the female is the base model for the human race and we all start off that way in the womb?
      It's the Y chromosome that changes females into males and sometimes things go wrong.
      A woman has a pair of XX chromosomes and the male, XY, but you can have XXY people who have female characteristics, or even XXXY as in the case of Caroline Cossy who starred in a James Bond movie.
      Conversely, there are XYY men who tend to me extremely aggressive and quite often violent. These people usually end up in prison doing lengthy prison sentences.
      So, this particular transgender lady will definitely have a better life as a female and should be treated with respect, but I agree that big hairy transvestites look better as men and should stay that way.

I'm a mtf (age 22) & I have body/gender dysphoria & am currently transitioning via HRT, laser hair removal, cosmetic treatments, & eventually surgery. it's a very sad & hard medical/psychological condition I wouldn't wish on anyone. But at some point we have to accept ourselves & begin to live. We all only live one life. Why spend it suffering. Just like Isley, I want to become happy, healthy, productive, & comfortable in my own body. Regardless if you understand or support trans people, everyone can agree with my above statement.

    • @ChristopherGray00
      @ChristopherGray00 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@tomholt1080 It completely affects my life, it is destroying the definition of man and woman.
      But assuming it didn't affect my life, as much as it wouldn't affect my life to call someone who is not a woman, a woman, it wouldn't affect you as much for me to not call them by the sex that they think they are, words are meant for actual objective logic and set-in-stone definition, not social obligations and feelings.
      Just because i don't agree to the idea that a transgender should be called the sex they aren't, (although i can see trans-female or trans-male being alright), doesn't mean i have anything against these people on a personal level, i have talked to some trans people and at least from what i've seen they seem like pretty levelheaded and kind, but i just don't agree with that specific idea is all, for example i disagree with my mother on some opinions, but i still love her to death, because i had gone by her words that she's told me as a child, and that was "agree to disagree", an opinion is just that, it doesn't always have to be a statement for if you hate someone or love someone.

      He wasn't being rude. She agreed to come to his house, sit there, and answer his questions on camera. Like she said, you probably wouldn't know the answers to these questions until someone told you. The two of them seemed to have a really good time. Quit assigning a narrative to everything you see or hear about.

    Very cool, nice, transgender woman. I love how she is so open talking about herself. I'm gay and I sadly knew a transgender woman who had a very hard time while transitioning. Being cisgender (not trans) she was very offended by almost every single thing I said. I could not ask her one question without her being offended. You see, the questions I might have asked were not offensive, not about her top or bottom surgeries, I'd just be supportive. One might think I must have said something terrible. Any "slight" way of not saying something in a politically correct perfect way was met with anger, rage and eventually abandonment. I still try to empathize. :-/

    the way he asked questions was a little weird. Like 'what do you do for money?'. She was so incredibly graceful during the whole interview, as she sensed that it was not his intention to insult her, but genuinely had no idea. As most of us don't (myself included). Great interviewee, wish her the best.
