This game is almost a full on copy of one of the 1st factory games that started this trend of factory builders. It was called FortressCraft and it was 1st released on the Xbox360 back in 2011. Then FortressCraft Evolved was released into Early Access on Steam in December of 2013. Even Factorio took inspiration from FCE with things like the spiderbot (spidertron), also blending a factory builder with a tower defense game. FCE was one of my favorite games that I wish had a sequel. Looks like this is a spiritual successor. :D
FCE is a game that I love, played about 500ish hours too, I had a play with a huge turbine setup and all and when I got to the ice caves i realised my setup was way way below the needed requirements for power lol, then some months later I beat the expansion with mods, but sadly mods disable achievments so i never unlocked the plain terrain i wanted so much Good times
My problem with this game is that I want to play it so much, that I can't watch you play it because I want to discover everything myself. Sorry mr. Nilaus, skipping this video - but here's a like. :)
great... yet another factory game that interests me... factorio (already thousands of hours in that), satisfactory (probably a couple of thousands of hours here too), dyson sphere program (only just got it, already spent about 120 hours on it within a week) and now also techtonica...
The alpha last summer was just interesting enough that I wanted to play it so I'm looking forward to next week. I'll have to add this video to watch later though, I want to play it myself first. I like to watch these while I'm playing.
It looks great! Unfortunately I won't be able to play it - first person games make me very motion sick, but I should be able to watch you play it OK. Looking forward to the series!
I dont know if anyone pointed this out yet, or if you read comments 2 weeks later, but there is a hidden chest right after you get into that factory that you can see from the start. Its one last mole use at the end of the path. You can see the green box on the echo map
Thanks for the video, see you on twitch! Feedback: interacting with buildings during dialogues (i.e. 31:08 and 17:51) was a bit glaring as I was reading the subtitles, which disappears when you interact with buildings
techtonica is more like 3D factorio :) i really like it. just missing a blueprint function and construction bots :D but with inserters its way better than satisfactory. don't know why but i missed them in satisfactory a lot.
Har-har-har. I dare you not to play this game you've waited for so long. ;) Does it generaltes random levels? What operating systems could run a dedicated server? Thanks you!
Ooh, I remember you playing this last year and it looked good then. It looks like it would be great to play on the steam deck, but does it have controller support? If not it may still be playable, it's just a lot more long winded to get set up.
are there base defense elements? i bought satisfactory day 1 of its epic early access and keep returning to it but the longevity just isnt there without base defense. and devs said numerous times that they would never do any kind of base defense in satisfactory.
It seems ok. Might be nice to have another factory game and see what direction it goes over time. The talking and story are a bit much for me, but I don't care for that in most games and from experience I am the minority in that thought process. Anyway, wishlisted and waiting to see how it goes. Still going back and playing Factorio and Satisfactory on a regular basis.
You have a talent to speak people into sleep. Every fricking time i watch your videos (how much the content is interesting) it makes me tired hearing your voice talking. Without sound i could watch it endless but without sound is it also a bit boring. The Thing is really that i always get fricking tired and i sleep away when i hear you more than just a few minutes. Thats really strange and sad because i like your content
This is cool and all, but... I can't help but just ignore the slew of new factory games coming out and instead stare at the factorio forum, waiting for mention of the DLC
Does it have the option to switch to third person? Really not a fan of first person. Same reason Satisfactory has been sitting on the shelf for a while unplayed yet.
same here. I also get nausea after watching for 5 min. In particular when Nilaus is picking up stuff like a madman. I know for sure that I can not play that game. It is not so bad when using a controller insead of mouse and keybord.
@@thehelgetus7888 how do you get nauseous with first person mode? Do you have any condition or something, like do you avoid most first person games? weirdly interesting
@@vortexcv some games I can play with a controller. It is smoother. The first time I noticed it when my nephew played Wolfenstein. It is about 30 years ago. I watched it over his shoulder and after 10 minutes I got sick. I played Subnautica, no issues. I played satisfactory, no issues. I don’t exactly remember, but I think it was because of the controller. I’m sure it’s not only me.
this game seems cool, but somehow I'm not ready for 'another early access' that will be 'release' after 5 years of fine tuning and adding few bits every 2 months...
It looks fun and all, but.. I'm still waiting for games to come out from early access 4 years later.. I'll count on you to remind us of this gem when it'll be fully released!
Early access is fun! Come on in, the water's lovely 😁- of course you have to be up for being along on the ride, but if you'd waited for v1.0 of Factorio, you'd have missed a lot.
@@Nilaus I had to go check it out a second time. A year or so ago, I bought Satisfactory on Steam and was presented with a EULA from Epic Games. I got a refund rather than accept it. I really like the look of this. The story elements and radio logs make it seem like a cross between Subnautica and Satisfactory
Sub, Satis and Factorio
Except, of course, Satisfactory will have story at its full release.
I remember seeing the alpha of this game and it looked really cool! I can't wait to see more!!!
I've been really looking forward to your series of Techtonica!

Good times
Fortesscraft evolved was my first thought too.
Project Astra Dominium also mixes Tower Defense with a factory game
Huge FCE fan here as well.
Looks pretty interesting, hope you showcase more of it.
the game looks a lot better then the alpha last year but im looking forward to more!
looking forward to this game, and your play through
Thanks for playing, Nilaus! Can't wait to hear what you think. 👀📝
Awesome that you are covering this game, been on my radar since last year's Summer reveal.
I can't get enough and want to see more of this, please!
Cant wait for the release of this. Please do a series :)

I was lied to by the thumbnail. :/ Have to wait 7 more days.
I also got really excited when seeing the thumbnail😅😅 @nilaus why do this to us??😂😂😢😢
Yea I wish these TH-camrs wouldn’t flat out lie like that.
Technically it's here for him. But I know what you are saying.
Most successful TH-camrs are pathological liars. It's pretty disgusting.
Wow this looks much improved over the Alpha. Looking forward to more.

Bought the game because or your channel! Liking it so far.
Loving this Nilaus, please continue the series! Huge fan of yours and factory games in general (which you are the undisputed king of)
Super excited to give this a try when it comes out!
Nilaus. Cut the shit and post 10 more hours of this! You know we want it!
It's giving Subnautica vibes early on as well.

Really enjoying this :D I hope we see more in the future!
Yes, we'll see. Hope it is ss entertaining as factorio
Please go right ahead and make another video! Thanks my guy 👍
Oh that grafic style is lovely
can't wait to play this with my friend arianblackbeard
Thanks for the video, see you on twitch!
Feedback: interacting with buildings during dialogues (i.e. 31:08 and 17:51) was a bit glaring as I was reading the subtitles, which disappears when you interact with buildings
Liked the fake surprise of finding a box knowing exactly where it is placed ^^
Yes, yes, yes. More of this.
techtonica is more like 3D factorio :) i really like it. just missing a blueprint function and construction bots :D but with inserters its way better than satisfactory. don't know why but i missed them in satisfactory a lot.
What a great introduction! thanks!
Already seen a lot for the game, can’t wait to play it!
As always, an amazing video, thanks man !
Game: "A factory the size of a city was supposed to be here"
Nilaus: "Well... there will be"
As always, he makes it so fun, and I will play it for sure, thanks NIlaus
Definitely looking forward to more!
Very excited to see this series!
Har-har-har.
I dare you not to play this game you've waited for so long. ;)
Does it generaltes random levels?

Thanks you!
looks like satisfactory with some subnautica elements. very cool.
the underground thing mixed with a grid gives me Fortresscraft evolved vibes. Like a fortresscraft meets subnautica.
I cannot wait to see more :)
Anyone else get subnautica vibes? ;-).. (This is a good thing!)
An option to scale down the UI would be nice.
So the love child of Satisfactory and Factoiro, raised by Astroneer. ok sounds like it could be fun
He's got his Companion cube! No to eat cake!
I'd like to see more. :D
The voice of sparks sounds like miss pauling from tf2

I've heard this being compared to a mix of Satisfactory and Stone Block, which is a modpack for Minecraft where you start in a cave,

Strange that you can't have the belt feed straight into the input

Also a bit like Dyson Sphere just underground and different.
Looking good! Can't wait to see you stream this...
Good morning
Your video looks great and well explained.
But I can't translate the video from TH-cam to French
Thank you if you can solve your problem
This looks like a fun game
Looks like Minecraft but teched out. Although I will download this
How does this compare with Dyson Sphere Program?
I like it, guess it was because it has a grid system
In the stairwell their is abig chest near the ceiling that can only be accessed by the pipes
The voice acting is good
It's like satisfactory and planet crafter had a baby.
Nilaus strikes again, another game to buy lol.
Looks awesome
Neat! More Please
i’m torn between watching your ordered and constant progress through the game, or waiting a week and making boatloads of spaghetti myself…
More, please.
3:21 FOR ROCK AND STONE, YEAH
This reminds me of MineCraft mod Stone Block.

Pretty nice, but I get motionsickness watching this game after a while.
ahh I really want to watch the vid, but at the same time i want to delve blindly into the game once i get it.
Amazing game

looks interesting
Sparks has a much better voice now than Alpha
rekindled my interest in the game after the alpha didn't hold it.
Is this game like fortresscraft evolved?
Factory types of games seem to gain popularity lately. I get why it's fun to play, but why now? Why hasn't it cauth on a lot earlier?
Immediate thought...Fortresscraft.
This game looks like it was made for Nilaus.
Does it have the option to switch to third person? Really not a fan of first person. Same reason Satisfactory has been sitting on the shelf for a while unplayed yet.

Spark's voice i sooooo nice sooo hot and real and pro.
I require MORE minerals.

Oh yes please.
You should give to Caesar what belong to Caesar. Instead of crediting factorio and satisfactory, you should really credit modded minecraft.
Oh my, this does not bode well for my decision paralysis between Factorio and DSP (haven't finished either of them, 200h+)
This game looks a lot like Deep Rock Galactic.
I've watched 2 videos of this and it just doesn't look fun to me. I've gotten so used to "clean" interfaces like DSP and Capt of industry.
.... Rock and Stone?
The woman talking sounds like Lilith from Borderlands.
Satisfactory without requiring an Epic Games account? Sign me up
Satisfactory is on Steam
@@Nilaus I had to go check it out a second time.
