      Except the Stendarr section. While Kellen gets cured he still faced many years of a curse brought on by no fault of his own, not to mention everyone else in his family who died with it. Quite cruel for the god of mercy.

    I never played any of the games you show on your channel and never will. The reason I'm watching your videos is my husband who played most of them and simply wanted to relive the stories that affected a great part of his childhood. One day, he discovered your channel because of your Diablo 1 playthrough that brought back so many good memories to him. I noticed him laughing so much. So I asked what was interesting about those games and if he would start that long-ass video again so I could watch with him from the beginning. I'm not a gamer, but I do recognise good stories, because I'm a hobby author. And I love your style of narrating, because you voice the thoughts of the player characters so well that even I was captivated. A regular let's play or playthrough would not have accomplished that, I think. So after that long-ass Diablo 1 video, I binged the rest of your Diablo content. The last video before this one that I watched was the latest Thieves Guild one. I am still trying to decipher who the Grey Fox might be. Every few minutes or so, I come up with another theory (It it a god in disguise? Is it a mortal being or is it rather a concept? So someone taking the mantle of Grey Fox and then somone else and so on ...), trying to get my husband to say "Yes, you got it!", but well, I'm not quite there yet. The 9-hour video regarding the Black Hand quest, I made my husband watch it with me in (almost) one sitting, because your narration was so engaging, so exciting. Your effort condenses these stories into gems of narration.
    TL;DR: Thank you, man. Really, you're incredible. Please never stop.

    Haven't played this expansion yet, but I'm actually blown away. This DLC is probably the most engrossing TES narrative for me personally since Daggerfall.

    • @DarkLOREDash
      @DarkLOREDash  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      How did you find, Shivering Isles? Also, what is your favourite Daggerfall, quest?

    • @brickch4pel
      @brickch4pel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DarkLOREDash Shivering Isles is kind of a novelty to me personally. I think it's a lot of fun, and I think I might share a braincell with Sheogorath. I'll admit, I'm not familiar with much of the deeper lore of it yet, so that's definitely something to research.
      As for my favorite daggerfall quest, it is hard to choose, but it's almost certainly one of the late game ones. I'd say it's somewhere between "Totem, Totem, Who gets the totem?" and "Journey to Aetherius", probably the latter as the first one is really just a major story decision, as opposed to Journey to Aetherius, which is an adventure into one of the most mysterious places in The Elder Scrolls.
      I'd also cite "The Mantella Revealed" as one of my favorites, but that quest is quite literally just a lore drop, nothing much else. The player gets several anonymous letters, which are actually from a few different semi-random factions the player has decent reputation with.
      TL;DR my favorite DF quest is probably Journey to Aetherius

    Anyone else find it humorous that the Alieds who worshipped Maridia seem to have such an affinity for undeath. Lot's of undead in their ruins, and even a crown sought by a would be lich. Umeril himself seems to be some form of undead as well.
    Meridia really ought to have words with her followers.

    • @YEETUSDAFEETUS

      imagine her coming to them and just asking "what the fuck guys"

    • @highlordlaughterofcanada8685
      @highlordlaughterofcanada8685 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Umaril isn't undead, and the undead in their ruins can easily be explained by either Necromancers, or their resting places otherwise being defiled, causing them to be restless. Also it's spelled Aylieds, Meridia and Umaril.

    • @williamousley9794
      @williamousley9794 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Ayleids, though they did generally have a lot of respect of Meridia, were extremely varied in their Daedric and Divine patronage, worshipping everyone from Magnus to Sanguine to Meridia to Molag Bal to Mephala. Hell, the Mehrunes Razor DLC even takes place in an ancient testing ground for would be wielder’s of the Razor set up by the Ayleids. I’d say generally that the ruins populated by undead were either inhabited by more amoral Ayleids or are places where necromancers or vampires hang out

    The prophet has to be one of my favorite npcs in any game. I know most people think Sheogorath is Wes Johnson's best performance, but man something about the way he speaks as the prophet is so mesmerizing.

    • @hitomisalazar4073
      @hitomisalazar4073 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Oh easy to put The Prophet over Sheogorath for me. I never cared how Sheogorath has this... laughing at his own jokes sort of performance. Like the only time he's NOT doing that is right as he's about to turn into Jyggalyg. And for a small moment I like the character as he transitions from "I laugh at my own farts" level character to something colder, darker, and more serious is the one redeeming moment for him, for me.
      The Prophet... I think people have a bad view of him because he mocks any finished questlines you might have done as basically your first interaction. He also has this sort of grating tone at times that... it sounds like he wanted to go for a bombastic almost shouting performance but wasn't allowed to actually shout and has this strained voice of trying to imply a shout at normal speaking level. But he had a few good moments and didn't generally overstay his welcome. Just popping in as the plot needed to nudge you along.

    I think Knights of the Nine is my favorite dlc from Oblivion, even if I love the Shivering Isles and even the other little dlcs that we have.
    I don't know much why, I think that's because of the biblic/christian side of it (The fact that you have to be humble, clean, and truly devoted to the Nine to be able to complete the quests for example) and the big amount of lore that it added to the Elder Scrolls.
    Thank you mate for you huge work on this, I think that it wasn't easy at all. So congrats

    22:54 a point to note for this portion of the quest is that one of each shrine can be found around the imperial lake. Also, it is worth completing the pilgrim's way multiple times, as it will grant you an INCREDIBLE holy blessing spell on top of other bonuses. Totally worth it.

    • @highlordlaughterofcanada8685
      @highlordlaughterofcanada8685 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Firstly, it's called Lake Rumare, secondly there is no extra spell for repeating the Pilgrimage, turn off your mods and fact check before, or just read the UESP. The only spell you get is the Pilgrim's Grace upon your first completion of the Pilgrimage, provided you have no infamy. Otherwise it's granted upon completing it again. But no additional "Holy Blessings" are given besides the Pilgrim's Grace.

    I always admired this DLC for representing the virtues of honor and redemption.
    Far too often, players in single-player rpgs are encouraged to either be 100% good or 100% evil in their playthroughs, or they risk missing out on cool rewards.
    For this quest, even if you've been a despicable person, you can still earn forgiveness by acting honorably and walking the pilgrims' way. Playing the prodigal son is one of my favorite tropes, and I'm so glad it's represented here.

    Very interesting video. I started a bit late with Oblivion and have only had GOTY.
    First time I played l of course heard about the attack on the temple. But there is much to distract you between the Imperial City and Anvil.
    Lots of things to discover the first time you are playing such a game.
    I arrived to Anvil and was warned by the guard and decided to put it off to later.
    I progressed in other parts of the game, and the attack didn’t really get mentioned.
    Many, many hours later I had actually managed to forget about it.
    The prophet was probably sleeping.
    The guard had left to patrol elsewhere.
    I arrived to Anvil late at night and decided to pop in to the chapel to make a quick prayer to restore some attributes.
    So completely had the whole attack slipped my mind that when I walked in.
    I was certainly wasn’t prepared for that. It took me awhile to remember the earlier comments.
