    You know what absolutely destroys me with my flight anxiety, is how long it takes to get going and take off. Sitting there for 10 or 15 minutes just allows my nerves to build up on top of themselves. If we were able to just get in sit down buckle up and take off it would be much easier to deal with because it wouldn't allow the anxiety build

      Omfg same. My last flight was horrible. When we landed we had to sit on the tarmac for 1 hour and it was hot, babies were crying, and it was a full flight. I felt so trapped. Before that, I've never had a fear of flying but now I do. It was such a traumatic experience for me. Ugh.

    I’m a Flight Attendant and I suffer from Panic Disorder, but flying doesn’t give me any Anxiety at all. But I completely understand what it feels like to have Anxiety over something you have no control over. I am prescribed something for it and it is a life saver. It’s not what you take, but it really helps when I suddenly have these Panic Attacks that are either triggered from CPTSD or just randomly. Thanks for helping raise the awareness of Anxiety and hopefully this helps people who suffer from it. I can tell that Steve really helped you stay calm a lot.

      In your opinion. Some people love where they live. I’ve traveled all over the world-Europe, Middle East, Asia, Central America. And all it does it make me realize how much better & more exciting Florida is than ANYWHERE. Just getting back from south east Asia after a month and have decided I’m not going anywhere again for a VERY long time. The world is a joke compared to our beautiful, FREE sunshine state! I have an extreme fear where I'm pretty much having a panic attack throughout the flight. I tried Valium, which makes me forget the flight, but I still panic throughout, much to everyone's annoyance. Landing is fine, it's waiting for turbulence that gets me... any kind of movement, even the slightest move and it sets me off.

    • @gdfggggg
      @gdfggggg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anxiety is sh… I hated turbulence but after watching a documentary on how much these planes can take I soon realised it was pointless getting uptight. Even violent turbulence will be nowhere near the breaking point. It’s uncomfortable but from my experience won’t last very long.

    • @jcheck6
      @jcheck6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Daryl, try seating towards the front of the aircraft, much less movement when encountering a bumpy ride. FYI I have only encountered severe turb once and it lasted perhaps less than 5 seconds. No one likes turb especially the pilots (not because they are afraid as no aircraft has ever crashed because of it) so rest assure they are always trying to find smoother air. BTW I am a retired capt.

      I feel your pain.... i have always been a very anxious flier up to the point where i took 2 ferries and 3 different buses across Europe to get home. That trip ate 7 days from my 2 week holiday. I spent 7 days on buses and boats to get to my destination and back home. Safe to say i will never do that again. Now i just take 1 or 2 valerian calming tablets as i take my seat on the plane and the tablets start their work in about 20 min as the plane taxis on the runway and that is how i travel a few times per year by plane. Non prescription tablets that contain Passiflora or Valerian root do the job for me. Best of luck.... You can do this!!!

      @@01Elvi never took trains across Europe so can't give any advice on that. When the pandemic hit last year i flew back to Ireland and was more worried about someone on the plane having Covid more than anything and i can't wait to get in a plane again and fly to new places.... i figured the only way to fight my fear is to face it head on and fly a few times per year... i refuse to let my fear control my life and the world has so many beautiful places i wish to see.... trust yourself, you can do it. If you need to travel accross Europe by train to realise how much faster the planes are, then travel by train. I can imagine, much more expensive and lots of connections... but you are able to beat your fear of flying... try ordering Sedi Stress online( non prescription calming tablets) best of luck! Hopefully you decide to fly and get to enjoy your trip! I live alongside my fear and it is always with me from the minute i book a flight to the minute i disembark the plane.... panic attacks during the days leading up to a flight are a constant struggle, but i find it that it helps me a bit to fly during daytime and book a seat beside the window as i can focus on the landscape outside and focus on the fluffy cotton candy like clouds.... my fear intensifies dramatically when i fly during the night and can't see anything out the window of the plane.... hopefully my advice helps you even if the tiniest bit✈✈✈

    So true on the size of plane. I feel more comfortable in bigger aircraft compare to smaller ones. Unfortunately, most airlines now uses the smaller equipment to minimize costs and cut emissions.

    I love flying, I've survived many flights, idk how much miles I have but I have alot. Flying is the safest form of transportation and takeoff is the most likely part to have something go wrong because that's when the engines are at their most power but everything after the first 5 mins after takeoff it's SAFE even landing is safe

    My first time flying was when I was 16 after that I haven’t flown since because of my bad anxiety. I’m 31 and I finally was able to fly again. 😅. I flew from Atlanta to Key west which was a small flight. I have a trip to Baja California which is a longer flight super nervous about this one. I do therapy, read and pray it really helps me. Thank you for this video.

    So I’m only like 3:54 minutes into your video but already love the vibe and I just subbed you. I have a MAJOR fear of heights, especially planes. I used to not be scared as a kid but in recent years I started getting major flight anxiety. Even though the flight is only 42 or so minutes from California to Vegas, I get so scared. I don’t think I’ll die or the plane will crash, it’s just being up that high scares me deeply. Maybe I’ll look into getting that medicine in case I decide to fly to Vegas for my birthday (this July). I can vlog my experience like you are. I’d much rather drive, but hopefully I can get over my fear. Anyways love your video already.

    For some reason the drums made me really nervous. If you ever fly a middle eastern airline like Qatar, Emirates etc, they have a prayer before the take off. I’m not religious, but I do find it soothing.

    I’m flying out of Denver tomorrow, currently in the middle of a snowstorm, and I am shaking just watching this video. Trying to figure out how to naturally calm myself. I feel the dips during take off, turbulence, and landing, which lead to me screaming (I don’t like surprise drops, I fly with my hand over my mouth to cover incase a surprise dip hits, and I can try to catch my scream). And I cry from embarrassment and anxiety, which lead to panic attacks after the plane does something uncomfortable. So, I’ll have several panic attacks, anxiety throughout an entire plane ride, stress, tears, and everything. 🥺
