I've been wandering around on CrossCode since i finished the game five days ago and I'm actually impressed that you can mod the heck out of this game, creating new a new experience. Heck, I didn't even know that was possible to play with other characters until now, and honestly if it's going to be like that I plan on joining the mod community, problem is... How do I start? Oh well, anyways.. Amazing mod! I know you can go further with your mod if you take your time, I was amazed by the combat arts and I plan to see more of you on the future! (sorry for the "essay", just got too way hyped on the mid way)
The CrossCode modding community is quite niche and small. However, the modding potential of CrossCode is MASSIVE. As someone who has modded other games, It's amazing just how much potential there is for CrossCode mods. Custom enemies, players, attacks, maps, dungeons, storylines, cutscenes, sprites, bosses, quests, are all possible, and things I was able to learn how to do just by looking at the game's files and learning by example. I started out just like you.. I saw Eisus's modding work and was amazed and hyped. I started looking at game files and I've learned a lot about how this game works at this point. It's all there and easy to edit, including the game's code itself. If you really want to get serious, I will be more than happy to help you (or anyone reading this who is interested) to get started! The modding community has a discord server: discord.gg/3Xw69VjXfW Feel free to reach out to me there. There is a community *map* *editor* for CrossCode, it is how I built Satoshi's hidden lab above the town hall. I'd say the best place to start is by making a custom testing map, where you can try out placing different elements like switches, NPCs, enemies, props, etc. That is how I started out. Making cutscenes and maps is actually extremely easy, making combat arts is a lot more complex but a lot of a modder's knowledge of cutscenes (they are called "event steps") carries over to making combat arts. I've been thinking about making some videos about crosscode modding, such as how to make custom maps, documenting the process of me making combat arts, etc. Currently there isn't really much documentation out there but the discord has a bunch of people that can answer any question about how to do something in the game.
Sorry for the late reply! My pc "wasn't feeling so good" yesterday, so I had to pass the rest of my time without messing around with it, now that it's back, I'll join the server. Thank you for the kind words and support!
This looks really good! Though I do hope those bullet hell/platforming challenges will be optional side things rather than part of the story you intend to add. That seems a bit much for something the player will NEED to go through.
Oh of course not! Once you beat (or lose, the game will remember lol) the Luke duel, you will reach a "lobby" where all my mod content will be presented in rows of doors/teleporters you can go into à la carte. There won't be any sort of progression. The lore-friendliness pretty much ends after the Luke duel and it will become a collection of random things I made.
The dialogues are so on point everytime I love it.
Holy hell this mod looks cool. I've only watched the first few minutes and the character writing is spot-on!
This looks amazing and I love how it feels pretty close to the original game. I wish you the best if luck with the project.
I love the deltarune reference, rude buster fits great as a triblader move lmao
Can't wait for this mod to be finished. It looks great!
better not tell susie, he will try to take down the mod because the attack is used without permission.
That was amazing to watch, well done!
5:38 a fellow Vermilion shipper I see
