@CJSFBRD I actually have a camper shell on my zr2 with a roof rack/light bars on top of it so the battery would be safe in there and then just run a 0gauge wire along the frame through wire loom back under the hood to tie into factory wiring then ground the battery to the frame right under the bed so you have a nice short ground

Curious when you decapped them, are you talking about getting rid of that little ball thing at the end, and also for the 02 sensors if you tuned it with hp tuners is there any need for factory sensors or should i just adjust stuff based on a stand alone afr gauge, thanks in advanced boss
Decapping is when you lightly grind the spot weld on the end of the injectors to remove a thin metal layer. The little ball thing at the end should stay in the center. You need to keep the primary upstream 02 sensor for tuning. Thrown stream 02 sensors can be tuned out, basically just disable the codes via HPTuners.
4wd works great, I have the 4x4 posi lock installed to remove the vacuum actuator and have a manual front diff engagement, but still the factory electronic transfercase actuator. Winter is the best season for this truck in Minnesota. Taking out on the lakes is ultimate fun.
I'm going to start ice racing this winter, and I'm trying to decide which vehicle to use and I'm leaning towards the ZR2 since I could care less about the body
I actually lost all of my tune files recently when my laptop crashed, I'll have to download the current tune in the truck once I get a new one. I do remember that with decapped injectors, i told the pcm they are 42lb injectors
Curious to wear the oil feed line is coming from for the turbo, I heard you say you welded a nipple for the return when the pan was down, what about the feed, how did u set that up?
The 4.3L as many options to choose from for an oil feed. Before I knew that, I found a plug on the oil filter adapter, which I removed and took the feed from that location but also put an oil restrictor on it. Then I bought a 10ft and 2ft 4an feed line (I needed about 12ft of feed line) and ran it to the back of the truck. Also, before I had the fitting on the oil pan for return, I just ran the hose into the valve cover where the pcv valve was.
Also if you are spider injection, a company does make upgraded spider injectors which I will be doing soon to support e85 and intercooler with more boost

I've just had to replace everything in the front end, some things more than once. Also the uses ZR2 parts are slightly harder to get than 4x4 S10 parts since no one stocks them anymore (different front ends ZR2 vs 4x4) even the mounts are different on the frame than the normal 4x4 s10 and the lowers are prone to cracking on the frame which mine has and been repaired. I love the pickup but the front suspension is terrible design.
It's typically 9-10 psi unless I get the turbo nice and hot, then 11-12 psi. I can't do mud really unless I put a snorkel on it. I prefer sand dunes or backyard trails. I'll have it on the lake this winter (frozen lake). I definitely need some more air filter protection. Currently just has a water-resistant sock on the air filter
Right now 4x4 launch would be junk, I'll have to work on a 2 step setup so I can build boost. Just dropping the clutch isn't very good spool to make any power. Then 4x4 launch to see what breaks!
I built it with scrap steel laying around, and the main bumper is water pipe from the hardware store. Cut the skid plate out of cardboard and brought it to a machine shop to get it cut out of aluminum
It's held up pretty well over the years, but the ZR2 cutout in the aluminum skid plate definitely weakens the metal, and I have to bend it back every so often
the "fuse box delete" and "just keep sliding" made me laugh a fk ton. this was entertaining!

How many miles and what year is this? I have same rig as of a few days ago. The s10 Zr2’s seem too be very hard to find
They are super hard to find with a 5 speed. Mine is an 03 ZR2 5 speed and I'm up to about 187k with the turbo added at 170k

No, it is pressurized from the turbo and a charge pipe basically

What bmw wheels are those for the zr2. I use amg bmw wheels on my Honda with one centric ring 66.6 to 61.4 no mods for the lug nuts direct fit
Some 7 series wheels I found on marketplace, I've never seen them on any BMW. Lucky for me, they are the same bolt pattern and good offset 5x120

Stock camshaft and springs, Every cam is a turbo cam. If you add boost, it will make power!
Zr2 has ifs right? How'd you beef up that front gearbox??
Yes it has ifs and it belongs in the trash. It's the stock nv3500 4wd version, I just put bearings in to maintainence it. All synchros looked great
