    HI! I am from the United States, love your videos sir! Real quick, I was wondering, do you have any useful websites, books, anything where people go into extreme detail about why you would choose different nets, best ways to use them, etc? Again, THANK YOU FOR THIS! You seem to be the only person on the internet doing videos on this stuff.

      Hi! Thanks for watching!
      I'm afraid that's all knowledge that is being passed on from generation to generation in theatres. That's why I built this channel. Hopefully someone will write a book some day. But I don't know of any.

    Fascinating video. very helpful and informative. I was wondering if you have ever tried to project something with a short - throw projector onto a screen behind the one that is projecting the hologram (ie the projectors would be back to back. I would be curious to see the results of something with a dark background projected onto a screen with the hologram floating in front of it. helping to create that 3d look and feeling you get as when you stepped behind the screen.

    • @philipp7pc
      @philipp7pc  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You mean a rear projection hologram?
      The works by Claire B and Adrien M or the MTV unplugged concert of Placebo do that. It's pretty cool actually. I myself rarely find myself in the situation for it. But it's a nice effect with some implications for the audience.

    • @bigcrazyal5560
      @bigcrazyal5560 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@philipp7pc so theoretically I could rear project a hologram onto mesh(facing the projector towards the audience) and have a short throw projector put images up on a screen say 3 or 4 feet away from the holo projector (this one facing toward the rear full black screen) and projecting images with a dark background?

    • @philipp7pc
      @philipp7pc  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bigcrazyal5560 don't know if I understand that correctly, but I'd think so.

    • @philipp7pc
      @philipp7pc  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bigcrazyal5560 let's just say, the combination of a scrim in front and a black pvc with rear projection works pretty well ... (see this one somewhere in the middle th-cam.com/video/jyFfOXwGbkc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ugnQ2rqWfn5pTVQ_)

    Amazing... How strong does a projector need to be? how bright was the one you're using

    • @philipp7pc
      @philipp7pc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The one I'm using was around 5000 Lumens. But it's not so much of a brightness problem. More like a lighting the rest of the space problem.

      Hi! Thanks for watching!
      For the vlog I'm still mostly using the lx10. That's right. For more elaborate filming most times I'm using a GH5s.

    Is there an outdoor holographic projection material? I need it for night projection.

    • @philipp7pc
      @philipp7pc  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. I'll dedicate it a clip.
      Outdoor is wind, is differ sizes, is moisture, is uncontrollable light, is air traffic restrictions, ... and for sure the salt to make the fabric flame retardant does not like the condensation ...
      There's a lot to talk about.

    Hola, disculpa se que ha las castellano, somos unos estudiantes de mapping en Barcelona, y estamos intentando practicar esta tecnica, pero no sabemos exactamente que tipo de tul o tela es la que usas, lo hemos buscado en la pàgina de gerriets, y no lo sabemos encontrar. Nos puedes ayudar? Mil gracias por tu trabajo.

      @philipp7pc  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hola, ya lo visto...
      Si buscas "CS Voile" en la pagina de Gerriets sales con un material muy bueno y barato. Lo que es un poco mas durable puede ser un Tüll. Pero siempre depende en la distancia de vuestros espectadores.

    I'm sorry ... but this is my pet peeve ...
    "Disco Ball" is a *_COMPLETE_* misnomer.
    Disco was a music movement in the 1970s. And, while most discos of that era had 'Mirror Balls", so did 10's of thousands of roller skating rinks.
    No one _ever_ refers to them as "Roller Rink Balls", now do they?
    Mirror balls were first referenced in a late 18th-century French novel, where the protagonist tells of attending a party in a Paris mansion, where the host had taken "Spheres, cubes, diamonds, pyramids, cylinders, and even mannequins and parts of mannequins and covered them with pieces of broken mirror before hanging them around the mansion from the ceiling". He goes on to describe the effect by saying "... the reflection of the lamps and candles from these tiny pieces of broken mirror made the room look like it was deep in space with a million stars dancing around the walls and attendees' clothing."
    I mean NO disrespect, honestly. I'm a lighting director/production electrician, and I am loving your work here in these vlogs, but I really dislike it when someone calls them: "Disco Balls".
