- Swedish DJ and producer Eric Prydz and his team make wild, incredible, expensive limited-run events. His latest is his most ambitious - and potentially, his shortest run ever. In this episode of The Future of Music presented by Aloft Hotels, The Verge explores the behind the scenes of EPIC 6.0: Holosphere. After years of development, the multi-story transparent LED sphere only saw one performance at Belgium’s Tomorrowland festival. It’s been two years in the making and we got an exclusive look behind-the-scenes at what it takes to build the most technically advanced EPIC (Eric Prydz In Concert) to date.

I personally like the cube more, however, that may be because i've only seen the cube live, and not Prydz's sphere, so i know how stunning the cube looks irl, but not the sphere, i'd have to see this sphere thing live once

The fact that he has to go on TH-cam to watch videos of his performances, more than likely means that his team does not professionally record any of his shows. Which is very sad when you think about it.

Eric Prydz is like the James Cameron or Christopher Nolan of DJ concerts/shows. Innovative.
This is what a DJ show should be IMO. Audio and visual combined into a full experience.

You forgot the most important thing. The music. Prydz is what you get when meshing masters such as Chopin, Quincy Jones, George Martin, Trevor Horn, Brian Eno, Pharell, Primo, Flood etc... It is a genre without a label.

I am one of the lucky ones who got to see the Holosphere at TML W1. After that night, my family friends and I agreed that, from now on, there's the ones who have seen the Holosphere (for real, not in videos), and the rest ... Still feel lucky and privileged
Prydz is great, but props to that young kid who who designed it! The 👁: GENIUS!
I've always thought that Eric's visual team is absolutely superb, but this, .. this is truly next level.

Weird that they now speak about the second week cancellation... I was there at the opening weekend event and there was a weird break of about 15 to 20 minutes in between the artist before Prydz and Prydz, having looked up the show I felt like something was missing at the time.... I don't know I had the feeling ''not everything was working properly''
I get it with all the content creation, 3D mapping, building a sphere structure... but how did they get that thingie to be so transparent? I mean, even the motorcyclist sphere they took as an idea is not nearly as transparent. Was Eric in the sphere or behind it?

I went to tmr week2 this year. It broke our hearts when we received the notification that freedom stage shows are all cancelled. Fxxk
'Call on me' in the clubs in '04 was a total change. It was all fluffy "night at the roxbury" type music up until then. This guy really does have that trend setting ear and still uses it today.
All they have to do to fix it is change all of the backing material to a carbon fiber frame.
