no. 6 from "Covers", recorded 2013 originally no. 2 in "Columbine" cover of Marilyn Manson's "The Reflecting God" from the 1996 release Antichrist Superstar
Your not going to go harder with it and maintain any relevance, this though ... Staring at the chaos completely disconnected from it all in another catatonic sickly state of calm uneuphoric quiet, the ones with their spirits cracked know, it seems okay but it's so far away from it, it's more just an acceptance of hell
The struggle that you have within your self the battle if good and evil shoot here and the world gets smaller it's like one death means nothing and if we were God there would be no salvation or forgiveness within your heart
Only you can really forgive yourself. Demons and others may tell you otherwise, "No salvation! No forgiveness!" But as manson screams louder and louder in the end, "Forgiveness!" repeatedly, he realizes that, as he "went to G-d just to see," He is in fact only looking at Himself. And so he realizes that there was really nothing to fear but Him+Himself and his choices. So this time, instead of being in a "world that is an ashtray" he liberates himself and even dares the motherfuckers further. "Shoot! Can you feel my power!" My two cents.
There is no biblical god. God is within ourselves. And if we are tested by other people bring it on. Shoot. Because I have the power within myself to break through any barriers wether it be life death or atrocities. You don't need a christian god to have god within yourself.
To me I always interpreted it as a "fuck you" to the world, like the only way to make the world disappear is to kill yourself. Which is true, in a sense. But I'm sure theres other levels of meaning. That's just what I always thought it was
There is no god. That makes your own decisions a lot more important because there is no god's plan, all can go wrong or right in the future depending only on what we do. That makes humans something near gods, we have the power to destroy nature for example and there is no god that is gonna stop us so if we wanna stop it we have to stop it by ourselves, no one is gonna save you apart from yourself.
Wow, really changes perspective. Gives it a Johnny Cash feel.
