  • Aside from a few raised garden beds in the past, I have never done anything like this before on this scale. I'm learning as I go along, but am sharing my love and enthusiasm for deeply connecting with nature, growing my own food, and living more sustainably.
In this video, I share some updates on my summer garden season, what's growing well, and what isn't. I also share the problem we had with our elderberry this year, an infestation that resulted in an abrupt end to my harvest, as well as new plans for the next garden season, and what I'm planting for Fall.

I garden the NAKED way. I don't use any herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals, and that carries through in every other aspect of my life as well - from the type of products I use, the food I eat, and the environment I keep. I also soak up the sun and let the earth touch my skin as often as possible ;)

After 15 years, our yard/garden almost takes care of itself. You are on the right path. Mulch, mulch, mulch. More perenials is a great idea. Saskatoon berries are among my favorites. It is important in our desert climate that the the ground is shaded so the roots can be happy.

I love your pure, honest, nature-oriented thoughts.
I was also giving the blackberries to the chickens today. Here, it's the opposite. 10 months in a row more rain than "normal". And just about a record of the fewest sunny days. It's been a while, but we're learning so much from it. How nice that your first peach is on screen. That's why we do it!

The Blackberries and potatoes look amazing. You are becoming an amazing aesthetic gardener. It always seems to me that working with different plants is sort of like a negotiation.

Thanks for another lovely video. I find if you submerge the fruit in water the larvae will come out And leave the fruit clean. Its generally ok for jams, and wines etc. I was taught by my father not to mind the creatures. It was a sign the fruit had not been sprayed. He also said it added body! Best wishes from England.

That's a great idea! Definitely worth trying, and I totally agree, a sign that it wasn’t sprayed. ✌️

The lack of moisture stresses the garden plants which the insects and diseases can attack the plants🌱
They seem to know when plants are stressed.😊

Elderberries are really nutritious and really helpful health wise. You could make a jam or syrup out of them

I am a nudist just like you and do everything the natural way and I’m also a horticulturist and I am not sure if you’ll get this or not but a good and natural way of getting rid of fruit flies. White flies and certain type of beetles is by planting marigold and basil those two different plants have natural chemicals that, kill off those type of insects. And on a personal note keep up the good work and nudists. We need to standby encourage and support each other. 4:39

So great, thank you! Love that little tip. I didn’t realize that basil has such powerful insect repelling energy.

You are so welcome and anytime and I hope it helps and like I said before you doing a great job and keep up the good work here’s another quick tip as well. If you get yourself some alfalfa and boil it into a tea alfalfa is a great stimulant for plant growth and fruit production once you boil it into a tea, drop of it into your soil and help your plant growth you take care yourself be safe out there and I always tell my nudist friends always stay nude. Take care.

And here’s another quick tip I was helping my daughter with her garden. She was planting tomatoes, and I told her to get her a can of sardines with no oil and that stuff in there and buried in the soil she’s gonna plant her tomatoes and then the sardines will start to break down into the soil and build the nitrogen levels in your soul to help your plants grow and she actually had a really greatcrop season big and juicy beef steak tomatoes
