They put great drummers, in a great sounding room with great sounding drums and cymbals. Pretty difficult to mess up the mix at that point.
Such a creative guy, he's technical but also has a "less is more approach".
One of my fav things about every member of this band.
His ghost notes are so tasty
He almost dont use double pedal and tesseracr still sound heavy and groovy. I also prefer a more melodic aproach on vocals and music than extreme metal.

This cymbal set really works well for Jay and Tesseract, in my humble opinion. Really like the video and light setting in this video, too.
Meinl definitly fits their sound way better than sabian did. Perfect match.
I have to note that I like the sound of the snare drum here much better than on the album version. A well-processed live drum is more interesting than an overcompressed sample
