    I will be teaching at a school that doesn't believe in rewards, so I'm going to have to lean heavily on encouragement and praise.

      I know everyone is different, but in my opinion we are all rewarded in some way. If you don’t smoke, you get money off your policy, if I go to Starbucks and buy enough drinks, I’m rewarded with a free one, some districts give out bonuses for attendance streaks. But everyone has their own opinion and way of doing things. The good thing is, praise works really well!

      @@teachingintentionally5606 I agree. Even grades are a reward. But I also understand how external rewards can become a crutch or lead to power struggles between teachers and students.
