I had purchased a gold 7RP insert for my gold birkin, and lately I scored another craie color birkin same size. I used the gold insert for my craie birkin for 2 weeks. but it had major color transfer issue. ( I guess it did not show earlier, since it was a tone on tone) The interior of my craie birkin is discolored with tan/yellow, all my SLG is discolored, my business card that I had kept in the 7RP insert for long time now has yellow margin on all sides. I’ve seen so much youtuber talking good and color-transfer proof of 7RP products. But it really is not the truth on my end. I tried to get in touch with them. It’s been 3 days. And still have not heard anything yet. I had learned my lessons, but guys. I hope you don’t have to go through what had happened to me.
I'm sorry to hear that 😔 I also have a 7RP L'Insert in Gold and I haven't noticed any color transfer, even in my lighter bags 🙋🏻♂️ I can see it leaving a little color behind on Craie as it's such a light color but it's strange it's suddenly started discoloring your SLGs 🙈
@@IamGPS I’m just upset that the product is not fully truthful to it’s marketing words “color transfer proof”. It’s such a expensive bag insert. And it also had discolored a very hard to score color Birkin. I even tried to rub the insert with a piece of white paper to test it. It even shows color transfer on a regular piece of white paper.
@@yxpenny That's so annoying!! I just tried to rub a white washcloth against my blue and Gold inserts and I'm not getting even a tinge of color. Be sure to follow up with 7RP to see if maybe yours was from a faulty batch? 🤦🏻♂️
Did you ever reach out to them? I had a red b30 and a limited edition red 7 rue paradis insert and over time I also noticed color transfer, but because they were very similar I didn’t notice it on my bag just the swift wallet I use.

Really great review of all of the insert! You definitely convinced me that I can do without the fourbi pouches. I never could justify the price for the 7RP inserts, until I watched Mel in Melbourne's tour of the atelier. Then I understood why they commanded such a price. If you are going to pay over 10k for a handbag, why not get the best insert the market has to offer? It's like getting a Lamborghini with cheap interior - doesn't make sense. Now I understand the pricing and I love the 7RP inserts too. The only critique that I have about them is that, at least for mine, they all came with a really strong lavender smell, which I definitely could go without.
They're not cheap by any means but definitely worth the investment..especially if you have a preference in shape and size as you can use them interchangeably 🙋🏻♂️ Oh really? I have about 4 L'Inserts from 7RP at this point but I haven't experienced the lavender scent yet..really interesting. I wonder if it's intentional 🤷🏻♂️
@@IamGPS I totally agree with using it interchangeably. Surprisingly, the insert for my Kelly 32 also works with my Halzan 31 and 24/24 29. It's such an investment if you can use one interchangeably between different styles. It also is great because I don't have to empty one bag and move things over between bags - this is how I always end up misplacing something.
You're absolutely right 🙋🏻♂️ I think I mentioned during my Herbag review that I also use my 7RP in the Herbag but it's great to know it fits in those bags as well 👏🏻

I have a unique system. I keep all my things in 2-3 bags (just freebee cosmetic bags) that makes changing bags easy and stress free. Before I switched to this system I wouldn't change my bags often enough to justify having a collection. Now I switch them every time I go out. My bags stay pristine and when the bags get worn I toss them. I also like that it limits the digging around in my bag since I pull out a bag, dig in that and then put it back. I like the structure the 7RP provides but the fact it is made of petroleum (Alcantara) and the bag is made of leather worries me especially for long term storage. I am not surprised they don't guarantee it wouldn't transfer dye. Alcantara also wicks oils and I fear it could rob the leather of oils (tanned leather is like 15-25% oils and fat by weight) over time. I worry too much though. Anyway, I am sure it is fine for everyday use but I wouldn't put leave it inside the bag, store it for a decade or so. The Liberty of London fabric would probably be fine though.

Once I buy my Birkin I’m sure I’ll want one from 7rp. I personally love a slouchy bag so I’m really looking for organization more than structure.

I got bag insert for birkin 35 to keep the shape seems to be working, its a black birkin amd organizer is light grey in 30 \ 20 dimensions

So glad you enjoyed it 🙋🏻♂️ 7RP is pricey but worth every penny if you have a couple of "holy grail" bags you use on a regular basis. Give JennyKrafts a try, I don't think you'd be disappointed 🧡
Do you find that the insert you use for the herbag, does it misshape the bag since it's a rectangle insert? I've seen some inserts for the herbag 31 that tapers at the top, and wondering if it's even necessary to have that taper.
The 7RP insert I use in the Herbag is also tapered 🙋🏻♂️

Absolutely, it's best to stick to an identical or similar color for the insert regardless of brand 🙋🏻♂️ Maybe one day 😉

I would say Fourbi looks like it should cost about USD50-60.... But yeah, I know it costs 10 fold of that))

@@IamGPS Actually, I think it's difficult for Hermès to justify any of their prices, but when you're a fan like we are, we'll pay to get what we want. On the Fourbi, the fabric is obviously machine-stitched, but the Barenia leather tabs at each end are sewn by hand, and Hermès probably uses this to partially justify their pricing. I'd bet that the leather sewing on these inserts is done by newbies who aren't skilled enough yet to hand-stitch a Kelly or Birkin. Also, Barenia seems an odd leather to pair with cotton or silk. Barenia is usually used for saddles and other items that get a lot of rough use. Using it on a cloth insert for a handbag seems like overkill.
Does Jenny Krafts make an insert specifically for the K28 Sellier? I only see one design and I'm assuming that it's for the retourne.
She doesn't make different inserts for R and S but I've been using her Kelly inserts in Sellier bags 🙋🏻♂️

Thanks for a great video. Just one question - can you leave the insert in the bag for long term storage? I have heard that if you have a soft leather such as Togo or clemence that they can cause a line to form where they end across the bag. Any thoughts on this? Or do you take it out for storage?

Hi I love your videos about Hermes!! I have Kelly 32 and Birkin35 and Im looking for an insert. I know 7RP is the best but I cant justify to spend this money on an insert. I dont think they offer that much vs Jenny for the price difference. Would you compare Jenny to Samorga? You haven’t talked about it but a lot of Hermes collectors use Samorga inserts. Your thoughts?
Would you pay top $ for 7 RP for a lower end Hermes such as picotin or Halzan. Or samorga or zoomoni adequate?
For a Picotin, absolutely 🙌 Picotins have the tendency to lose their shape over time so a 7RP insert could do wonders!!
Do you put in the 7RP insert with the outside band facing out ( open pocket) or in (zipper pocket)?

Great advice. My SA showed me the Kelly Danse. It was way too small and the color choice is limited. I now want a Kelly 25. What I carry is minimal (a 7" leather pouch, a leather key holder and sunglasses in a soft silky bag). I measured the dust bag from my belt and it looks like it will work (I will ask him for one when he offers me my Kelly). What do you think?
I'm not a fan of the Kelly Danse either..it's wants to do way too many things but it can't do one well 🙈 Yes, I used that trick in my Mini Kellys before I discovered JennyKrafts 🙋🏻♂️

This was a marathon, and very enjoyable and informative. You really gave an exhaustive analysis of the various inserts that I'm sure is helpful to your viewers. You're absolutely right about the Fourbi. It's over-priced and has limited usefulness. I have just one, in Epéron d'or silk. It's a deep blue and cream pattern, absolutely beautiful, and of limited usefulness. I wish I'd never bought it. I'm a big fan of 7/RP and have their inserts for most of my bags. One thing I don't think you mentioned is that the 7/RP inserts are washable in cold water.
Once I was done editing the video, I felt as if I had just finished a dissertation on bag inserts 😂🙈 I'm glad you found enjoyable 🙋🏻♂️ I think many of us, Hermes admirers make the mistake of buying into the Fourbi line without realizing how truly useless they are 🤷🏻♂️ You're absolutely right about being able to wash the L'Insert, thank you for bringing it up 🙏🏻 I wasn't sure if I should mention it, as I've never tested it myself and I didn't want to ruin someone's pricey insert in case it's a fussy process 🙊
@@IamGPS 7/RP says machine washing is OK, but I've only washed my inserts by hand. They do say cold water only.

I have only Mai Tai inserts for B 35s because they are soft linen and don’t create dents in the leather. More elegant looking than Fourbi.

Have you heard of ppl getting creases in their bags from using the 7rp? I've heard a few ladies mention creasing of the bag from the 7rp.....

I also suggest you check out Maitai bag inserts, they are also made in France and are of pretty good quality at around EUR 150

Maitai They dont offer good structure ... its just a lining. Maitai 150€ vs 7RP450€ : better go with structure and softness with 7RP
I bought a 7-RP insert for my first birkin 30 and have been really pleased with it. Just bought a second birkin 30 and wondering if it is worth buying another for the structural support when it is stored... 🤔 they are so expensive, finding it difficult to justify. Do you think air paper does just a good a job at keeping shape of the bag or would another 7-RP insert be worth the money in the long term?
So glad you've been enjoying it 🙏🏻 You absolutely could but if it's only for storage some clean, plain white T-shirts or bubblewrap will also do. I wouldn't rely on the air pockets long-term, as they deflate over time 🙋🏻♂️

I am GPS Oh, the 7RPs. Sorry, I just realized I didn’t mention which.. hehe. The owner Maryanne is such a lovely person. I don’t think I would order from anywhere else as they use cheaper materials. 7RP uses alcantara.. same material used in luxury sports cars. Love it!
