@@callumfriend2523 If you step through the video frame by frame at that point you can see she plays a flam accent. I think the 2nd hit is timed such that it gives it that higher pinging sound possibly due to how the air is rebounding off the heads. Granted the mix probably brought the sound out a little more, but I don't think any effects were done and the sound is from how it was played.
Truth! I’m so glad someone finally said this. In the age of drum triggers and “sound splitting double bass” I think people have forgotten that drumming is a skill and not an electronic additive to a band.
One thing i love playing Kristina as my personal playlist, she plays firmly so nice to hear everytime she hit that drum, most importantly she don't add any silly improv or over dramatic freestyle or such.
I've played this video a dozen or times and I can't get enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a 90s baby and this song was great then and the lyrics are more relevant now in today's crazy world. Keep doing you, Kriss!!
@@RockBandRS It's not really an effect. You can get that kind of sound out of a snare by hitting towards the edge (not hitting the center) while playing a rimshot. Probably they did some other EQing on that snare hit though
As much as people want to hate Limp Bizkit, they were the soundtrack to an entire generation. I'm in my 40's and I can still remember the words to most of this song after not hearing it since... I don't know when the last time I heard this song... Probably around 2004 or so. Paused at 2:27, now i'm going to finish eating my night snack and sing along. :D
Dude fred Durst called it when they where popular ,he said "in ten years noone will give a shit about us " I still like them good is good . If it's not good now it was good then .
John Otto is one of my favorite drummers. That guy knows how to drive a song. It didn't matter what the rest of the band was doing, if John Otto wasn't playing there was no energy. It's like he was trying to legitimately kill the downbeat every time he hit it. You did a great job capturing that energy.
I love the look of expectation and excitement as you build to the first big break - the crescendo is intoxicating, like being smashed by a big wave you can see coming on the horizon
must say in most songs I do not see the artist sing along with any vocals, all while staying relatively motionless except the extension towards the percussion instruments. I'd say it's more a very well-executed rhythmic performance vs a spiritual and emotional one. this is only my humble opinion though. Some others might actually not notice or care for noticing it.
Kris, never ever stop drumming, you were born for it.. or maybe drums were born for you to play them... Please cover something from DANCE GAVIN DANCE, you would totally kill it !!!!
Song's still pretty underrated. The flow of the vocals. The chill vibe during the verses to the pure raw power of the chorus. I still rock this song while driving.
