Very common to not wear gloves in a microbiology lab. Reason is, experience has shown that techs are less likely to wash their hands if bacteria or chemicals end up on them. Most bacteria are basically harmless on a healthy skin surface, as long as you wash them off right away. If you have cuts or similar wounds on your hands though, then you should definitely wear gloves.
Good afternoon ma'am, Please tell 1.After culturing in test tube, at which temperature we have to keep it for preservation and upto how many days we can preserve it 2. How identification and characterization of bacteria can be done 3. If I have a single bacterial strain- and I have to culture it. Then how I know that the strain I used is the same, I want to culture. Please tell the method for it
My mixed unknown project is coming up. First step is to streak 2 TSA plates in a way to isolate the 2 bacterial colonies. Then I have to prepare a bacterial smear of each colony to perform the gram stain of each. Next I have to create pure cultures of the bacteria of each colony. The question I have is this. Would the colonies appear purely isolated on the TSA plate in order for me to do the next 2 steps?
Was there a reason you didn't cool the loop as much on the second plate? On the first plate you double tapped the loop and paused a couple seconds. On the second plate you single tapped and immediately smeared it. It just caught my eye so I asked. Cool video though.
For no particular scientific(?) reason, really. I used to intern at a microbiology lab and I do that sometimes. The double taps and pause for the first quadrant was probably because the loop was a bit too hot.
This is a video from a top 1% university (in the world). I think they know what they're doing lmao. This is just a brief demonstration for first year students so they're not handling anything dangerous.
I would imagine that a few was done to make the video clearer as a demonstration (it'd be harder to follow, for a beginner, if the technique was performed too quickly)
I got yellow colonies on TCBS but when i made the oxidase test it was negative , that means it s not vibrio ? What should i have to do instead of Api 20 test, plz help
That's because the tube will not be used to cultivate microorganisms, apparently. So, as they will be sterilized and discarded, it is not necessary to flame the neck of the tube. Although you're right if the culture in the tube will be kept.
um the majority of microorganisms are harmless to humans. Anything that's truly dangerous requires you to like fucking lick the plate. Seriously, people who don't work in the field are painfully obvious.
Hi what solution or chemical can be used to slow bacteria motility when viewing under a microscope ?
But why are you not putting on gloves in your lab?
folalu toluwani cuz in there u use "bec benzan" she would be in fire bcz of her gloves 😂

in some cases yes depending on selectiveness and chromogenic of used plates(agar)
Depends on the species of course. Most are not pathogens and the normal skin flora will keep many in check. Using bugs to fight other bugs.

Hellow find me Instagram docahdavid_tz
Wow, how many years ago...Still vivid.
So it's like a random single cell bacteria for each petri dish? Theres no way to selectively pick a bacteria from a mixed group right from the get go?
air is also contain microbes so how does she do this ????? bcs in india we use two burners to maitain aseptic condition
Worst cooking show on TV.
The food looks awful.
Without gloves?
same question🤔
Thank you so much, it was perfect.
very informative ...

What is the aim and objective of this experiment
I have problem identifying the colonies, to me they all look the same :(
+reina ramos i know that feel :(
+Vaibhav Shinde right :-/
This is my
Project. I have one week to full isolate 3 bacterias and identify
I identified the yellow colonies on TCBS it was Enterobacter spp
So you think that you can identify the bacteria by your naked eye. Please don't make jock
Thanks for the video it really helped a lot
plzz guide me about proper methodology of how we can isolate streptomyces spp. from soil sample
ayesha willayat why?
You're wasting so much time. Petri dishes are not held like that in the open. Spores fall on the agar.

العمل جيد مشكور
Can you isolate subspecies of bacteria?

Thank you
Thanx a lot
for avoiding time wastage @1:50
+DrPhu not have to go to the point where
Gloves doesnt matter??
I am too interested on it?
She's 007's mom. She has a license to kill bacteria!
thanks for sharing !!!!
I would like to isolate Morganella morganii from several parts of fish abd i need to count it how could I do that please
Why?
Saludos a mis compas de cta que vean esto ;)
kool video :D
She didn't use any controls in her experiment.
Please put on gloves. Its the basic before touching bacteria.
Merciii
nice
how to isolate to find bacteria in microscope.
hello
guys
wasup
why you use not laf to make culture

hi hi
4:40 It seems to me that the lady forgot to flame the neck of the test tube before putting the lid on.

No gloves
in
welldone , but where's your gloves ? you need lab safety training course .
Obviously, melting gloves in your hands can't kill you while microorganisms can so choose lol

Do not use gloves close to a flame (that's kinda obvious)
